Dear Patron,

We're delighted to share our fully-animated remaster of Alexander the Great's Opis Mutiny Speech.

Huge thanks to Martin Klekner for all his hard work on this project. And if you enjoy the animation (which we're sure you will!), make sure to check out his own Patreon page, as well as the trailer for his upcoming Heroes of Bronze series. Big thanks also to Alexander animator Brian Kouhi, Editor Eddy for his work on the map scenes, and of course Patrick Kennedy for taking on the role of Alexander.

This is very much a project that was only possible due to Patreon support - so thank you as ever for being here. Keep your eyes peeled for The Hundred Days Part 2 coming soon, but for now.... to Opis!

While this isn't the time period I'm interested in, a very good job done by everyone involved!

DC*

Whoa. That was amazing. I could definitely use more. Was that the same animation engine used for gen:lock and such?

Great speech from the Greatest Conquer of all time!!!⚔️

Lord John 🇵🇱💚

This was astonishing!!! & beautiful!!!! Honestly thought His speech would have been in Greek but hearing it in English is just as awesome!!!! Thank You so much!!!! Love Yall!!!! 💚

Andrew Herbst

This is very good! I do miss/love the reverb-echo at the beginning section in the original though. It makes the speech seem more like he’s reaching more people in a larger space initially. But not trying to be a downer, this is great and I hope you get another 15M views on this one as well

This was all made in Blender - you can get more details on the workflow from Martin's own Patreon page.

More then amazing truly EPIC History! The visuals from "Heroes of Bronze" with your ever amazing sound track and Patrick Kennedy brilliant voice work really pull this all together into a window of one of Alexander's most legendary moments.

Can I just say I’m picturing a segment from Nelson’s story, Napoleons Rise, When The feudal lords gather for the 1st Crusade! This could be a start to something so wonderful!!!!!

Honorio Navarro Mesa

My God, this is wonderful. It could be turned into an animated series of all the magnificent work you've done over the last decade. It's simply spectacular. I'm imagining all your series on Napoleon, Alexander the Great, China, etc. It would be a masterpiece of audiovisual spectacle. The first one that comes to mind is "Real Voices of the Napoleonic Wars."

Maximus Abi

Take my money that’s peak

The original Alexander's speech video is one my all time favorites and what convinced me to back this channel so I was apprehensive about a remaster. While some of this video were legitimately excellent (The hand painted backgrounds were breathtaking and the cinematography was on point) I'm just not feeling the 3D Cel-shaded characters. They seem too stiff in animation whilst also trying to be cartoony and realistically detailed at the same time and I don't think they managed to walk that tightrope

Juan Manuel van der Zee

Absolute chills! The beautiful animation, the music, the speech, absolute peak! I could envision myself being with his army, and winning the countless battles alongside my comrades; this is definitely something I want way more of! Splendid work EHTV and everyone involved!

Julian

Whenever I need some motivation, I listen to this speech, but seeing this updated version, I'll watch this every time. Just fantastic stuff!

Silas Martin

I agree, the backgrounds in particular are absolutely excellent though. However, the characters do move rather clunky. It made me think about what I enjoyed so much about the original and perhaps it’s that the hand-painted back grounds were deliberately more minimal- therefore inviting a greater sense of imagination and thus awe at what it must have been like. In this rendition I imagine the constraints of budget mean that within this style the true size/ scale of the army cannot actually be conveyed.

Finally had a chance to settle down and watch this masterpiece again as I did years before. It's nothing less than brilliant, seeing it beauftifully animated where I even wished the map design here can be re-used for other projects you have set in Ancient times. I do wish in the end, that it just stayed at that beautiful shot and rendition of the sky amidst the looming swirling clouds and you added another sound: individual cries of the men yelling "Alexander!" as it increasingly gets to a roaring choir as the closing epilogue reveals itself that Alexander's men begged for forgiveness. Nonetheless, it's a masterpiece on top of a masterpiece. Well done to everyone!

as a huge alexander nerd this is so amazing, epic history has literally the best video content on alexander anywhere. and i would also love if there was more reverb/echo on his voice, think it would make it sound even greater:)

Stuart Carver

I think it obviously takes a huge amount of time and dedication to create this so bravo and great job. I think this would be especially good for young kids who may need the more animated style to keep them engaged and get them interested in history so I’m sure it will have a positive impact in that way. Having said all that, for me I think the original just can’t be matched. It’s far more unique is much better at displaying the emotions and gives a sense of grandeur and majesty that simply cannot be replicated. The colours are far for vibrant and striking and I think that in this case less is more. So while I appreciate the craft and dedication to make this new one. Once I’ve given it a few views to support the channel I’ll be sticking to the original personally.

Great video! Perhabs you guys could consider a redo of Alexander's campaign, with more detail. In the same manner as how the Napoleonic Wars was covered. It surely got the potential to be a great series.
