Dear Patrons,

Time to reveal a top secret project that I've been working on for the last few weeks. Later this week I'll be releasing a video that I've made in collaboration with historian Prof. Tom Shippey, whose excellent book 'Laughing Shall I Die - Lives & Death of the Great Vikings' I read in 2018, and have been wanting to make a video about ever since.

In this video, we're going to examine five 'great deaths' from the Viking sagas, and unpack them to see what they can tell us about 'the Viking mindset'. Hopefully you'll find this topic as dramatic and fascinating as I did when I read Tom's book. The video will feature a detailed interview with Tom himself, as well as original artwork, and some cool maps.

I'm working hard to get this video to you by Christmas, but it will be a close run thing... More updates soon.

(Normal Napoleon service will resume in 2021!)

Thank you again for your brilliant support!

Always appreciate the hard work you put into these videos. They are a highlight when they are released and I find myself watching these videos more than once.

Oh wow, now this sounds like an awesome video for sure! I hope this will lead to a series about the history of Scandinavia someday since the Vikings had a profound impact on many nations in Europe, and who knows how history may have turned out if Harold Hardrada won the battle of Stamford bridge in 1066.

Honestly, I dont care what you guys produce because, no matter what it is, its always going to be quality. Keep up the good work man!

You always surprise to the next level even more! I have no doubt that this will be an interesting Series to watch. Beside Napoleonic Stuff, The Vikings catches my attention due to their history. I first saw more of them from Baz Battles YouTube Channel when they tried to conquer England. With your Style and High Quality Productions, I am sure it'll be a BLAST!

This will be interesting. Especially since I'm watching "the last kingdom" Netflix series, that is about the period 800-950 AD before England were united.

I'm so glad you have the support from others and myself to keep this content coming.

A great series! I recently rewatched some of it for a second time.

Very excited for this and very glad you feel comfortable branching out into more arenas of history. Maybe you can cover the Eastern Romans and Basil the Bulgar Slayer someday. ;)

Thank You very much. What a welcome topic and change of pace.
