Dear Patrons,

Here is your exclusive ad-free early access to The Apollo Program Part 2: One Giant Leap.

YouTube link here.

(If you have problems with the Patreon player try this Vimeo link).

This is the dramatic story of the preparation for and execution of the first moon landing, with some fantastic archive and great original 3D animations by James Malcolm. We all know how it turns out, but I hope you enjoy reliving the tension and jeopardy of that final touchdown, and what a stunning achievement it represented.

This video goes live on Friday, and I'll post the YouTube link in a couple of days

Thank you for supporting Epic History TV and allowing us to make videos like this! Back with some Vitoria 1813 updates soon.

Eric Sorkin

These are just as captivating as the Napoleon content in my opinion. Absolutely brilliant work.

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Eric! Did you get the video working ok? There was a big of a glitch but hopefully I just fixed it.!

Nathan Maillard

This voice... Another Amazing video! Thank you!

Alfonso Frias

Great video. Can’t wait for more.

Flynnstone

Excellent work as always! Your content is better than most professionally produced documentaries.

Stuart Carver

Excellent ive been looking forwards to this alway loved the space race as a kid. I’m sure over a year or so this series will find an audience. I imagine it hasn’t yet because it’s so removed for. Your usual output but I love it and this is one I might show my dad as he’s not so big on Napoleon sorry 😉 never seen a documentary talk about the protest that was great detail and mascons. I’d love to see more stuff with a mix of history and science one day. The history of humanity perhaps. You could have world map and show humans spreading across the globe over 1000s of years while narrating key events.

Sean Fitzgerald

Great video, Toby! Looking forward to Part 3. How many videos are you planning for the Apollo Program?

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Stuart. That sounds suspiciously like a history of everything!

Stuart Carver

I wouldn’t do that too you 😉 It could be all of prehistory up to the end of the ice age or the first ancient civilisations.

Ron Rozen

Awesome video! I was not aware about the protests as well, appreciate this addition. Would you consider making a similar series about the Soviet space program?

Hannibal Kofoed

Loved the video Toby, you could really feel the intensity of the moment, and the significance it had. Furthermore, really great you included the protest!

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Ron! Yes, we'll be looking into it at the end of the series. Obviously some very dramatic stories and incredible pioneering breakthroughs.

Philip Forinton

I'm excited to hear there'll be another part for the Napoleon Series, especially the Spanish Campaign. Here are some video ideas for the far future: First and Second Coalitions Wars, Venice part 2, Russian Civil War, Great Northern War and Spanish American Wars of Independence.

Arben Kikaj

Crazy how that first moon landing will still bring a tear to my eye. Humanity's greatest ever achievement.

Jonathan Chitambar

This is such a great series! Sometimes I wish there was a little more information though. Maybe a little more contextual information on the state of the world and why it was so important to achieve these goals. Feel like we kinda skipped through a lot of it pretty fast. Easily could've been a 30-45 min video for each. Great work Toby

B"H Amazing... I do not know why this affects me so deeply but the section about the Spider heading for the crater had me crying... and I still can't stop... always wanted to be an astronaut because it was, it seemed to me, the most admired profession from my toddler perspective starting maybe 1961... but had no idea what these guys actually dealt with... makes me think, we see various public-service people, be they military, engineering, mail delivery, phone wire repair, etc... for many, many professions, and we never know, the risks they deal with, day to day, to bring us what we are looking for... a lot of people must have been looking for that moon landing, to get someone to want to take that kind of risk and almost not make it back... very good presentation, includes facts that most if not many won't know, and is concise and to the point, moving along quickly.

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Jonathan, it's always a tough balancing act between a tight focus and wider context, plus what's achievable on budget.

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Leah, very glad to hear you enjoyed it so much. I'm glad you share our wonder at the incredible skill and courage of these astronauts (and cosmonauts)!

Jonathan Chitambar

That's a great point - video's are so well done I forgot there was a budget lol

JonAtomic
