Dear Patrons,

I hope most of you have had a chance to check out the new Battle of the Somme video, and found it interesting. Fingers crossed this will get quite a lot of attention with the big anniversary coming up in the UK (#Somme100).

A couple of bits of news - first, in imitation of Roman emperor Caracalla, who extended Roman citizenship to every freeman within his empire (not out of any kindness,  but to enlarge his tax base), I've decided to drop the Patreon threshold for 'voting rights' from $5 to $2. I'm hoping this will encourage more pledges, but if anyone feels hoodwinked into giving $5 to get voting rights, you can of course alter your pledge at any time! I hope this won't cause too much of a stampede.

Second, it's time to exercise those voting rights! As before, there are four options, so let me know your preference by end of Tue 31 May, after which I'll announce the winner. Two ways to vote:

1. click on the link to the Google Survey and choose one of the four options. (you need to have a Google account to vote this way)

2. email toby@epichistory.tv with one of these four options in the subject title:

Russia: Part 2

Alexander the Great (in two parts)

The Black Death

American Presidents (apparently there's an election coming up)

(There's been a lot of interest in a WW2 series: this will definitely be an option in a future vote, but it's such a big project I want to get a few other topics done first).

Thanks again for all your continued support, which makes this whole thing possible.

Toby
