Mind-altering bugs

from the last page, it looked like sugar could clearly see what they were reading on the phone. is sugar not upset that they are obviously bringing up a completely separate subject from what was obviously on their mind, or am i misreading the situation?

it can be interpreted that sugar had just woken up and not had time to read it at that angle, wasn't interested in spying on lola behind their back, or saw what they were reading and decided not to pursue the topic if they weren't comfortable. any interpretation is fine.
