There’s a healthy in between. No need to be slim to the point where you’re feeling weak , and absolutely no reason to be so overweight. I’m 59 years old, 5’6” / 147 pounds and have always had to be aware of my weight and my exercise habits etc. I’ve been 117 pounds and I’ve been 310 pounds so I know all the variables. At 147 pounds, I’m at my most comfortable weight , and I eat what I want in NORMAL portions!! And I make sure I’m physically active every single day. I’ve raised four children into adulthood so I was always focused on them and ignored my own body. When I turned 42 years old I took a good hard look at myself and realized that I was the only one to blame for my bad habits and I was NOT going to pass those bad habits down to my daughters … so I changed my mindset and changed my life.

I SO recommend talking to your therapist about WHY you’re overeating.. what are you stuffing down emotionally… why are you hiding behind your weight… what about being trim and healthy scares you ? All those questions.. finding those answers… was absolutely key to getting myself together. Plus the thought of my daughters looking at a fat unhealthy mother made me ashamed of myself. And I thought what will I feel like when one of their friends ultimately say something about their “fat mother “ … because let’s face it , kids WILl say something like that ! I was NOT going to embarrass my daughters just to “eat what I want” or because “I love food” and all those other excuses I was telling myself!

Another thing I was able to do … was cut my grocery bill down by so much and not eating fast food every week allowed me to take 100$ every week and donate it to my local food bank to feed ACTUAL hungry families. I was NEVER hungry .. and knowing that there was people in my own neighborhood that were hungry while I stuffed myself was heartbreaking when I really thought about it. So my getting control over myself benefited me AND my community ♥️ Ao for the past almost 20 years, I’ve donated almost 100,000$ to my local food bank!!
