It hurts my heart to hear people so uninterested in “politics”. This is daily life altering stuff. People should care. The thing is you don’t know to care because you don’t yet realize the scope of American politics and our current government. Please anyone reading this, motivate yourself to do the research you need. I have family that has to leave the state they live in for certain women’s health events. And even more women in that state don’t have the privilege to leave for even a doctors visit. Some people are stuck, trapped by poverty or whatever it may be. Unrelated to that, the thing about lil Malibu and her feelings made me remember something my therapist said. Something about children experience these emotions so quickly is because they’re not adults who sometimes can’t move on from an emotion. We can all learn from Malibu!

Dude, I couldn’t wait to vote at 18 I’m 23 now. I have definitely seen a known world that did not allow gay marriage and as someone who is bisexual and has diagnosed mental illnesses. I have never had the luxury of not caring about where my vote goes, and that’s something my parents educated me on and parents should be educating their kids on. At this stage with the Internet, remaining ignorant is a choice and girl it’s the wrong one.

I have an MFA in Painting from a top 3 rated school, and I will say I don't regret my degree at all. It gives me leverage and I feel I was taught by the BEST professors and given the best advice for my paintings and my studio practice. Just letting the other Just Trish baddies know that college in creative fields *can* make a difference and you should pursue the education you see fit for yourself!!!

I'm a 33 year old and it's baffling to me that an 18 year old wouldn't be excited to exercise their right to vote. When i was 18, the first President I voted for was Obama and I was super excited to partake in the whole process, and I feel all of my community and friends shared the same excitement. i think what she is saying is that she does not want to bring politics onto her platform as it can become very messy. a lot of celebrities do the same and we respect it. its very obvious that she is for the girls and the gays, even when some still try to "take her down". i think she's actually a lot more intelligent than people realize and if you dont believe it from her, just look at Moses. I was able to get my BS in nursing and education while I was raising 2 of my 4 children and was able to exponentially improve our lives by the time baby 3 and 4 came ! Please, please educate yourselves enough to at the very least know the candidate's stance and plans for critical basic human rights issues. If not for anyone else, do it for your kids/nieces/nephews. "Vote or Die" is sadly applicable more than ever for those in the USA who for those who aren't straight, white, cis males. Wait Trish and Oscar — the right to gay marriage (and protection of the fundamental right to marry someone of any gender) is literally on the ballot in California this year. I understand the fear of getting involved in politics, especially being in the public eye, but this is a really really important issue for your fans. A lot of people in California think they don’t need to vote because everything usually shakes out Democratic but that is NOT THE CASE THIS YEAR. Prop 3 (the protection of gay marriage in the state constitution) is not polling successfully and more conservative measures are polling higher across the state. If you don’t want to discuss larger issues PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE mention this to your friends and fans from CA. (Moses please deliver this message I know they care a lot and the fear of being attacked online which is valid but this is very important to all of us and you)

Idk I feel like saying that in general 18 year olds don’t care about voting and comparing it to how she (Trish) grew up is not fully grasping what Oscar was trying to say.. because in 2016 as a 16 year old I cared about voting as a POC, a child of immigrants, and being a woman… so I can see what Oscar was trying to say about 18 yos who identify as queer.. [just writing this to put more perspective out there] cuz while yes Trisha as a younger person didn’t care and find the interest in politics… you have to take into account your background and what informs whether you care or don’t.

no i 100% agree, in a high school full of diverse low-medium income students, majority of us cared about voting and even argued that voting age minimum be lowered to 16 y/os 😭 feel like trisha is projecting a little bc the youth have a such huge voice and influence esp online despite being overlooked by older people (im 25 now and can still recognize youth/teens for their impact on social issues)

It really depends on the person and the people you surround yourself with, but I agree with Trisha that most 18 yr olds and younger don't really care. (Just a general statement) It’s just very disappointing to hear sometimes that people don’t care about voting or politics(especially when you have a higher status)I was in middle school when trump first announced he was going to be running the first time and I knew about maybe 2 students in the whole school that were pro trump, we all cared about the election even though we couldn’t vote. It really is a massive privilege to be able to not care about voting or politics, it directly affects you and your community and your children. Don’t care about voting or say you don’t understand it, but when something happens that you don’t like you don’t get to complain about it especially when you have all the resources (libraries, the internet, talking to people) to educate yourself.

Multiple things could be true? Obviously that is terrible, but so is children being sold into human trafficking that is currently happening at exponential rates due to foreign gangs being here in American with free passes. Both are horrible and both need to be addressed. Kids are weaponized in politics to try to divide sides when both issues should be talked about and both should be taken so serious. Thinking nothing bad happens to children with a democratic president being in power is such a disservice to all the of children suffering currently.
