I can't stand jimmy. I think her weird AF. BUT all the critiquing of this show in particular has confused me since the begining. It's suppose to be hard, people lose, people cry, people get sent home over silly puzzle or a mistake or whatever. Like every other reality TV compatition show. Id never go on naked and afraid, or survivor, or honestly even the challenge/road rules. For one:I don't wanna be exploited. For two: I don't wanna have to do physical challenges. For three:I'm a picky eater and don't wanna eat whatever they provide. For four:I like sleeping in my bed. Lol. There's a long list of reasons. On shows like naked and afraid there's people starving in the woods, getting wounds, staying out there letting them get infected because they don't wanna give up the chance for the money. Then they get mediclighted out and stuff. This has happened always and in way crazier capacities than beast games. It's what the show is. Same goes for the challenge. People fight in the house, they have rules they have to follow, they get injuries. It's a competition show people SIGN UP FOR. He had this advertised as real life squid games. So idk why people were expecting to sign up for something super easy. If it was super easy winning 4,000,000 wouldn't be the prize and if it was super easy to get it people would all be signing up everywhere for everything. I am genuinely so confused as to why this specific show is getting criticism for it.. like he was suppose to hold everyone's hand and then say JK we are all winning 4,000,000 a piece and no challenges we are gunna have a pizza party instead or something? It's so weird/confusing to me. &&& People saying it preys on poor people and exploits them.... It preys on everyone who's willing to sign up and typically those aren't poor people. They're middle to upper class. As a poor person who only has patron because it was a gift from someone and can't even afford this. My husband had a failed transplant surgery last year, and a follow up surgery this year. He's been disabled and off work. We are poor poor right now. Behind on everything, almost out of groceries completely. People who are poor for one can't risk taking that time off work without pay promised. They'd lose everything. You can't risk it to possibly win. Also most of us who are poor work at places where we don't get time off. We can't just tell our boss that we need blank time off to film a competition show. Youd be fired or have to quit to do that. Again, no poor person is quitting their job for the "chance" to win money. Also if they have kids they can't afford childcare and statistically poor people have less family, and are more single parent households so a majority can't do an opportunity like this due to child care. So this is t something that directly effects only poor people. It effects less poor people than it does middle and upper class people. That's why on shows you typically do not see people who are poor. They almost always have careers not "jobs" and they always have some sort of established life. Without a savings to keep your rent paid, and without a high-level job you don't get to request time off like that or quit your job to go be on the competition.
