Itā€™s sad Trisha tries to control Moses so much. The meals donā€™t have to revolve around your schedule Trisha. The shows donā€™t have to be what YOU want to watch. I know Moses ā€œdoesnā€™t careā€ but you should. You should try putting yourself last a little more. Instead of bragging you constantly pour into your own cup. Teach ur family what it means to live a little more for others and less of yourself. Youā€™re very self righteous.

He must not understand how the dentist works, I donā€™t think theyā€™re just trying to sell a ā€œproduct.ā€ If youā€™re in the beginning stages of gum disease, there can be bacterial buildup below the gumline that at-home care and basic cleanings canā€™t fix, so the dentist may genuinely recommend treatment. The waiver is likely just documenting that you understand the risks of refusing recommended care, and her ā€˜leavingā€™ is to tell the head dentist is part of following protocol. Youā€™re making it sound more invasive or sinister than it necessarily is the mouth is important and these are trained professionals telling you the preventative care deep cleaning are a basic to anyone with a certain level of being at-risk.

Trish obviously works a lot, and Moses takes care of the home a lot. I love to see the roles reversed. I think itā€™s beautiful to see a woman catered to this way.

Heā€™s literally a grown man that chose this life, donā€™t infantilise him just because he can come across as more timid in comparison to Trisha, also Trisha has shown her true colours her whole life, Iā€™m sure if he wasnā€™t happy he would have left. Heā€™s not a child he can communicate those feelings and express himself to his own wife. We donā€™t live with them, we see such a small fraction of their lives we donā€™t know how things really are.

Saying you don't want a deep cleaning isn't being difficult. He said what he preferred and was firm on his boundary anf just kept repeating it. He is sensitive to sensory things, a lot of people like that can't go to the dentist at all, i didn't go for 10 years at one point and when I went i had tears running down my face the whole time. It actually sounds like the dentist office was being annoying af, like just say okay and clean the teeth.

Moses deep cleanings suck but definitely look into why they may be recommending it for you. It's usually for Periodontal disease which can lead to bone loss and it's better to get the bacteria out versus treating the loss when it happens. Basically your x-rays can see the bacteria underneath your gums that we can't get to and over time can cause that disease so that's why they numb to clean under gums.

So it sounds like Mosesā€™ dental clinic isnā€™t good at explaining their standard of care. They should have told him that he needs scaling and root planing (aka a deep cleaning) because there is either bone loss &/or calculus below a mm depth threshold underneath the gumline that a normal cleaning canā€™t treat. Only the deep cleaning can. It doesnā€™t push the calculus deeper. X-rays are even taken before and after to ensure itā€™s all gone. They need him to sign a waiver because he is declining the recommended treatment. If a patient declines the recommendation, the clinic needs to document that so theyā€™re not liable if the condition were to progress and the patient comes back and says, ā€œyou didnā€™t tell me I needed this treatment and now my condition is worse.ā€ Well, yes they did tell you and you declined, so thatā€™s on the patient then. So without explaining that, Iā€™m sure it looks like a scam. And frankly, the fact that they continued to treat him without him signing that waiver sounds like it actually could be them scamming him. Some clinics ARE after your money and unnecessary treatment. Not my clinic though! Hope this info helps some folks understand! šŸ˜‡

Right, they should have shown him the bone loss on the X-rays and where the calculus is. And explained why they need him to sign a waiver stating he declined the recommended treatment. Sounds like their clinic isnā€™t good at explaining things and ensuring the patient actually understands.
