The estates are against it because they aren’t getting paid- people are able to make things off public figures because the information about them is public domain and the people don’t make money. If the estates make money off it it would probably be different but most estates deny support (or aren’t asked to be apart of it) because they ask for too much money/ the studios are greedy

Pray for me, I entered ED treatment this week and as soon as i told “my Moses” (my bf, who was also in his 40s, calm, stable, kind, cooked, was teaching me to cook) dumped me same day. I feel so ashamed that at 31 years old I lost the man I loved and felt safe with, my “Moses” I had prayed for, because I was struggling to take care of myself. Like, some paid to be near the center front and got moved to the back and to the side! films are protected under the first amendment, as expressive works of art. a person would also have to prove malice, that the filmmakers intentionally set out to defame the subject in the piece. most of the time estates don’t “approve” of a film is bc they’re not getting their cut, which they’re not entitled to under the law.
