Two more Spidey short stories written for Ultimate Spider-Man Magazine, published in the UK and Europe in a bunch of different languages.

These stories use the continuity from the popular Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors cartoon.

The first story has Spidey and Blade fighting Sandman. The second one is Spidey on his own battling Taskmaster.

Each of these stories had to be a complete Spidey tale told in 11 pages, but the first page was almost always a flash forward moment, so I really only had 10 pages to introduce a problem, bring in Spidey action, and then wrap it up in a satisfying way. Working on these self-contained stories taught me a lot about making every panel count.

Hi Jim. I am trying to ramp up my writing output and am wondering what the demands are like at a professional level as far as pages per week. Do you have a set goal for yourself to meet deadlines in a timely manner?

Thanks for your patience on this reply. It's been a busy few weeks. Honestly? Every writer is different so it's hard to set an expectation in terms of what a "professional" artist does. I try to write at least 20 pages per week nowadays, but that's more a necessity to make sure I'm hitting my deadlines right now rather than a measure of being pro. I've had times where I've written more and times where that kind of pace isn't necessary. It also depends on what part of the process I'm in. When I'm building stories (plotting, pitching, and getting revisions/approvals) then scripting is going to go much slower. When the outline-plan is all approved and I'm in the mode, things go much faster.
