STONE STAR #4 - Script and Full Issue Line Art (Patreon)

Stone Star #4 arrives on comiXology next week and I wanted to give my patrons a special sneak peek, so here's the script and Max Dunbar's epic line art so you can see how they go together and then enjoy the fully colored and lettered issue when it arrives on Wednesday June 26.

My schedule - writing, teaching, and travel - has been intense over the past couple months, and Max has been an absolute trooper making sure Stone Star stays on schedule. In order to speed up the process and keep Max drawing throughout, we took a different approach here-

I wrote this script "Marvel Style", with brief descriptions of the page beats, leaving the actual choreography to Max, then adding in dialogue, captions, and sound effects after to match up with it. 

This approach is called "Marvel Style" because it's similar to how Stan Lee used to write a slew of different titles at the same time when he got the Marvel Universe rolling back in the 60's. It's not the way I generally prefer to work, but in this case, with a creator-owned series, it was nice to let Max run wild with it and have the art drive the issue. I'm so thankful that Max, Espen, and Marshall are such wonderful collaborators. I couldn't do it without their hard work and dedication. This is probably my favorite issue of the series so far.
