After writing a couple Pathfinder arcs for Dynamite, I was asked to write a 30 page Red Sonja One-Shot based in Khitai, the 'Eastern'-themed part of Hyboria, the fictional fantasy world of Conan and Red Sonja. I happily jumped on board and it was eventually published as Red Sonja and Cub.

Attached here is my revised/approved story outline, design notes for the artist, my rough page pacing breakdown, and the final script. I'm quite proud of how the story turned out and hope you enjoy it too.

Here's the comic on comiXology if you want to follow along with the published version:

Writing this one-shot would help cement my reputation as a fantasy writer and eventually lead to co-writing the Conan-Red Sonja mini-series for Dark Horse Comics.

March 16, 2020: Tons of people have come by this post after I unlocked it as part of Gail Simone's #ComicsClass posts on Twitter. Thanks for stopping by!

I have over 230 comic scripts and pitches here in my Patreon archives, all available for the price of a coffee.

If you're looking for FREE comic creation resources, check the TUTORIALS column on the right-hand side of my website: 40+ articles on writing, pitching and the economics of comics, no charge:

I also have two Frequently Asked Question round-ups that cover over 100 common questions I get asked about making comics, pitching stories, and working for Marvel:

Part 1  http://www.jimzub.com/tutorial-faq-round-up/

Part 2  http://www.jimzub.com/tutorial-50-more-frequently-asked-questions/

If all that stuff doesn't cover something you need to know about making comics, drop me a line on Twitter or here via Patreon.

If it's a good question I might even make a post about it so other people can benefit from the answer too.
