New Year update (Patreon)
Content
Hello.
December is about to end, and this also marks the end of the year. It's about time to reflect on what's happened and lay out plans for the future. First, I'll cover last month's results. The Sadist from The Evil Within was successfully released with all planned features and props. Laura is mostly complete as well; currently she's in limited testing phase. If no serious issues are discovered she'll be out early January.
Going to back to Juli Kidman: despite numerous technical setbacks, we achieved significant progress with her. Nude body with full feature set is completed, all of her outfits and hairstyles from both games are implemented too. She's far from problem free still and requires more testing and fixing. Depending on how smoothly it goes she'll be released to public some time in January. Here are some pics of the latest version. Apart from just hair and clothing, scars and bruises were recreated with high degree of accuracy.
With all that being said, I have a few more general thoughts to share. The year overall was very uneven and troublesome both on porting and personal fronts. Lara Croft, being our longest and probably the most difficult project so far, had a successful release and gathered quite positive feedback. Tracey was another success on NSFW side of things. In terms of general porting, guns from Ubisoft games were well received. Despite hopelessly outdated nature of Source technology, we managed to integrate or convincingly fake several modern graphics features only few sfm ports can boast: full wrinklemap support, improved weighting, fake PBR, partial skin translucency (backscattering) to name a few. It wasn't all roses and sunshine though. Ambitious Hitman 2016 project after release of several NSFW models was put on ice due to lack of proper content extraction tools and overall burnout. Mirror's Edge Catalyst was another casualty. While having new features and body/skingroup options undoubtedly helped boost projects quality it also increased workload and complicated testing, which resulted in more rare releases and significant mental and psychological strain. Here, I have to thank you again for your support, it was one of the deciding factors for me to keep going forward with porting.
Enough with rants, though. I've yet to discuss the future of our projects. We have a few more the Evil Within releases planned after Laura and Kidman. A weapon pack, consisting of TEW2 and some TEW1 guns, and "Lizardman" Stem Administrator. After that our main focus will be on Injustice 2. The exact scope is yet to be determined but it's going to be big, covering both NSFW and SFW, male and female characters. Due to serious flaws with current extraction tools we can't be sure if stages are doable, but there's hope. Most likely the first model to be released would be Supergirl.
I think this covers everything. Thanks for reading.
Happy holidays!
