Last comment: if you want to watch another movie about the fight for Black Rights in the USA, but not war-related, I give my highest recommendation to “Lee Daniel’s’ The Butler”. I show it to my students every year in my 11th grade history class, it is that good. You’ll probably need to break out the tissues but there are some comedic moments also. Loved watching this amazing movie Glory with you, I’ve seen it many times but can never get through it without crying. God Bless the Massachusetts 54th! True heroes.

Hi I enjoyed watching Glory with you, made me feel proud as a Black man that they risked their lives for freedom. I also enjoy your reaction very much. F.y.i. Frederick Douglass was an American Abolitionist and Orator, he became the most important leader of the movement of African American Civil Rights in the 19th century. After escaping from slavery in Maryland he became a National Leader of the Abolitionist movement in Massachusetts and New York.
