Out of all the characters I've made, Joy is the only one to have changed hairtyles! Well, Angela put it up in pigtails, and Bebe in a Ponytail, Jill too. However Joy has done major salon changes to her hair. From her first appearance to the current comic, it's gone through some versions. Which is your favorite? Truth be told, I've not got the latest one down just right. It's almost dred-like again. LOL, I might continue to evolve it in this comic. ;)

I think the variety fits Joy’s character and personality. I like the latest iteration of her. Really think you’ve rendered her hair well. Black women’s hair is so versatile in reality—so I think you’ve nailed! Joy is becoming my favorite! #sheisthemostbeautiful

Thanks! I tend to agree, there are so many styles for black women. However, as a white guy, they are a little tricky to depict. :) I feel I should have gone with tighter kinks, but I'm not unhappy with some of the panels. Some are better than others.

I appreciate how you can always tell it's Joy because of the curls. I also appreciate how it's natural instead of the many wigs one sees nowadays. Loving the evolution of Joy's hairstyle so far!
