I'm leaning toward total separation, but I'm really curious what you think.

An example of CinemaTyler Show would be the Sword of Doom vid and the Fritz Lang vids.

I don't think splitting up into another channel is a great idea if your goal is ~4 videos a month no one is going to be upset or think it's "spammy" you'll likely just split up your audience a bit which is no good :| Looking forward to the new stuff! :D

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The main thing that keeps me leaning toward total separation is the expectation that I’ve set up with the main channel. I wonder about the comparison from my normal super-researched videos to something potentially much more casual that allows me to explore and experiment with the form. I really want to get into film history, but I’m also interested in shooting-the-breeze and talking about cool cinema things. For example, one of the CinemaTyler Show episodes I’ve written so far is a small video about De Niro’s mohawk in Taxi Driver where I actually go and visit the wig in a museum. I’m basing the series on a combination of the YT channel The Great Big Story and a talking head thing like Last Week Tonight. I kinda feel like both Making Film and CinemaTyler Show being on the same channel would split the audience anyway and subscribers would mainly be following only one of the series. That said, it might be just as good to go all-in on one channel. Such a dilemma, heh.
