Actually the poneys transport into a magical land and turn into the girls

As a qualified brony I can answer some of your questions. For me at least, the one of the main reasons I like the show is because of the characters and the writing of the show. For a kids show the writing and plot is actually quite compelling, even more so in the later seasons. The show (and movies) also have surprisingly good music that can get stuck stuck in your head. As for the characters on screen at the beginning of the podcast, those are not actually ponies. Instead they are sirens that were banished to another realm by princess celestia because they used their musical magic powers to control the minds of ponies in equestria. The "human realm" they were banished to originally contained no magic, but after sunset shimmer stole a magical crown from canterlot castle and brought it to the human realm in the first Equestria Girls movie, the sirens magical powers were reawakened. The scene depicted is from the second movie, "Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks" and features a battle of the bands between the whole school. You guys should definitely watch if for Uncle sleepover, trust. Thus concludes my Ted Talk

Not a brony in the present, but I was as a kid circa 2011-2014. I'm 25 right now. To be honest I think I really liked it because it was the first show I really remember watching as a kid that had an established world and lore and had some pretty genuine serialized elements and honestly I just thought it was funny and liked the characters and it made me feel really happy at a time where I was going through a lot of personal stuff and growing up and what not. I didn't really try to hide it because I kind of made it a big part of my identity then but I mostly chock that up to me being autistic and being a kid and really liking something. I'm not gay but I definitely received a lot of homophobic bullying for watching it as a kid and got called the f slur and what not a lot. I've toyed with the idea of going back to the show as an adult but the truth is I've just kind of moved on and my interests have as well but maybe I'll go back to it sometime mostly for nostalgia's sake but I'm glad it kind of nurtured my interest in serialized television and storytelling in a way to be honest. I wanna say I started watching between seasons 1 and 2 and stopped watching at I think season 5.

Oh and also all the two part episodes usually had like gods of chaos breaking up stuff and my 12 year old boy brain always thought that was cool

Ryan got it dead-on about Equestria Girls, and Matt is also correct, it’s popularity dwindled pretty fast after the first couple movies.

Jordan624

Can't believe Supermega has to end after Ryan's actions at the end of this Jr. Ep. Shame on you Sir Maggie!

i didn't realize it at the time, but growing up watching my little pony was sort of a way for me to experience a girl's childhood as a pre-transition trans girl, and i think that was subconsciously the main reason i continued to watch it. plus, back then, the brony fandom loved to put the characters in dangerous action scenarios, and i was just as much a fan of dragon ball and similar stuff, so i found common ground there as well also the idea of just putting on an episode for fun and then going out barhopping actually isn't that farfetched, especially in the furry circles i run in

Excuse me sirs, I am supposed to be on the producers list? I'm a member!

As a recent brony I have a bit of a different perspective than normal. But I just think think the reason why me and so many other people choose to be so outgoing in their enjoyment is the enjoyment of being a part of a larger community and liking (in my opinion) a solid cartoon that I enjoy as a grown man. So I think the vendiagram of neurodivergent people who are looking for a community they can belong in and people who enjoy my little pony is a circle.

Ryan acting like he doesn’t own a rainbow dash belt buckle
