Right off the bat you hit the y'all thing. I grew up in Wisconsin, but lived in Nashville, Alabama, and Missouri for quite a while So I have taken up the y'all flag now that I live in Wisconsin again. Saying y'all sounds weird in an upper midwest accent. It sounds more like yoll. I have 2 near deaths: A Benadryl and alcohol overdose in a suicide attempt (it worked but they brought me back), and recently heart failure and pneumonia where my oxygen was so low they were going to have to intubate me but they put me on a whole lot of pure oxygen and that gave me enough air to revive and start crying. My heart was pumping at "an amount incompatible with life" and I don't know what they did but by the time I figured out I wasn't dead they have me on IVs and I had pissed the bed.

they teach us this in school, if you ever feel yourself caught in a rip current swim parallel (to the side) of the shore for a good 2-5 minutes, eventually you’ll break out of the pull of the current. still super scary shit and it takes a lot of adrenaline pumping to get you out, but as long as you know that much you’ll live. you can also usually recognize rip currents from the shore if you know what to look for. stay safe in those waters and away from that atlantic coast riptide, megheads!
