Akagi was from the other world!! Also I loved how she tried to make everyone see the error of their ways and apologize by proving adolescence syndrome exists and I hate that it didn't work

So the fun fact I was holding on to: The poltergeist was feelings that "should have been in this reality" getting transmitted over. AKA Akagi found the same guy she had dated in this world, and was 'getting busy' in the other world. Which is why one of those instances alt-Akagi made a comment to the effect of "so early." Related, one of the things Sakuta picked up on in the books is alt-Akagi is very shy about guys, where this worlds has no problems given her relationship. The anime glosses over it but the LNs spell it out a bit more.

Btw great job figuring out that it was the other worlds Akagi, I did not. It actually took me a couple watches (and reading the LN) to fully understand everything happening in this arc. The middle school class did pay a price for what happened with Sakuta - it's alluded to in the anime, but the remainder of their schooling was not a good time due to how they were treated by parents, teachers, and other peers. Sakuta on the other hand ultimately had a much better life as a result, Mai being the most obvious evidence. I believe that the others had finally begun to move on with their lives now, and recognizing AS could have caused them some emotional trauma that he felt was unnecessary. Like you said, much of it was a selfish act for Akagi herself - and Sakuta's goal is to become a kinder person every day. Looking forward to what you think of the next arc :)

I hope this season is starting to redeem itself to you at this point. ;-)
