Hi Marco, been away for a bit but was happy to come back and find more episodes to watch. This is getting exciting to watch with you as we get toward the end. Are you by any chance considering watching LazIcon after this one is over? More great talent to stress and cheer for on that one as well.

No worries. Wanted to make sure before make any thai singer reccomendations. It is a different setup. Alpha does a lot of on stage whereas Lazicon is a lot of technical ('dry' moments) scene setup and practice talk. Oh, yeah, the subs have to be a 2 step process of auto sub to Thai first, the select auto translate. A lot of TPop vlog content is the same way.

finally getting around to watching this ,,, for whatever reason i’ve been EXHAUSTED the past couple days ive been sleeping nonstop so i haven’t had much time to watch but finally im here! my favorite episode!!!!!!! (despite the elimination that makes me cry every time) also they did show two song names last episode, it was just formatted a little weird so it’s hard to tell if you don’t know the name of both songs😭 i will definitely have more to say for every performance here than i have for every other ep😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 pulling out the multiple paragraphs per performance🙏 i LOVE the alpha’s performance here (warning i will say this for every single performance this is my fav ep for a reason!!!) i agree with you that it’s messy but in a different way i guess? i have no problem with the part that you went back and replayed,, its actually my fav part i LOVE the layered vocals there. i just think the dance is really messy. fluke is the main one out of sync in the dance which sucks bc he did SO well vocal and acting wise. i think they were kinda set up to fail (or at least not do as well as they could’ve) by the way the song was arranged. if you couldn’t tell (bc i didn’t my first time), william and lego ONLY sung khrai phuean kae and fluke and nicky ONLY sang phuean so there was already a big divide between the two pairs bc unlike in the beta performances, the members didn’t all individually blend the two songs together. it just creates this kind of separation between the two pairs which sucks bc there was already some level of awkwardness and separation due to nicky replacing nut after so long. and i don’t think having a giant line down the stage and only showing us one pair half the time really helped😭 if you watch their dance practice it looks SO much more cohesive. i wouldn’t say it’s entirely on nicky that him and fluke weren’t synched well, i kinda got it equally from both of them. they both had moments where they were ahead and behind to me HOWEVER none of these things matter to me. i love this performance SO much. it’s kinda consistently hovered around being my 3rd-5th fav performance of the show depending on my mood. i literally could not care less about the messiness bc i think they just sounded SO amazing and portrayed the emotions so well. i think lego in particular sounds incredible here and i feel like i could just understand what they were singing about without knowing the lyrics bc of how well they acted. i <3 this performance i am its number one defender😭 since the very beginning of your reactions to project alpha i have been waiting to see your thoughts on wai rai x rai kor rak. and back in ep3 when i was like “im curious if you’ll cry at any of the other performances” i was pretty much just thinking about this one so im glad i was right LMFAO (def did not expect you to cry at sexy x lady too haha)😭😭😭 it’s one of the most iconic and well loved performances on the show and is my second favorite survival show performance ever (second to fluke’s in ep6!). this is one of the two performances i’ve cried at and when i watched it for the first time i had to put my phone down and just pace around the room for a bit just thinking about how good it was. i definitely agree with you about this mashup being super good,,, when i listen to the original songs they just sound kinda empty bc the mashup just fits together so perfectly i truly love everything about this performance so there’s nothing i can really say other than like. it’s incredible. when nut was an alpha, i always thought that he could keep up with the other alphas but sometimes it didn’t feel like enough,,, like he was never falling behind per se but it was like,,, i still didn’t entirely get what the judges saw in the first place. but i remember as soon as this performance ended i was just like . I Get It. This Is Why Nut Was An Alpha. as much as it sucked to be demoted to beta i think nicky taking nut’s throne lit a fire under nut or something bc holy shit. he was so so captivating here and i obviously understand why they picked tui as best beta and i think it was objectively the best decision but like. when i think about this performance i think of nut first every time. i agree w your comments on curse x mutelu. i love the performance a lot and it’s so much fun but there’s nothing super special about it. i def think music did the best but champ also did great. i think aungpao was the weakest here unfortunately ,, his vocals were a little unstable and his dancing wasn’t always in sync. from what i’ve heard from thai fans, the concept of this performance is also a little off? like the concept of both of the original songs is more spiritual and magical ? so the choice to make it more technology focused (with the robot dancing and stuff) and futuristic goes against the original concepts. the high note was also a little weak but given that it’s a team of two dancers and a rapper it’s not a huge deal for me. i also think it’s the weakest mashup of the four ,,, almost the entire performance is from the song curse, there’s barely any parts of mutelu. it’s like 75:25 instead of 50:50 like the other performances. i do still really have a soft spot for this performance though, i love it a lot :( also not related to the performance quality itself but ive always found it so funny that champ is just wearing backpack straps here😭 given that time and deaw are my two favorite contestants i think it would be impossible for me to NOT love sexy x lady but honestly at this point i think i’ve overplayed it a bit. i think deaw did SO good here it might be my fav performance from him . i think my only real issue with this performance is that hong’s vocals aren’t very stable (esp his high notes in the choruses),,, i can’t really judge him for that bc he’s not a vocalist but it does take away from the performance just a tiny bit for me. i really really love the energy in this performance and how they each had their own characters. i think hong’s dancing was really good here. and also this has nothing to do with the performance itself and idk how much merit my opinion has as a lesbian but i thought deaw looked SO good here like oh my god😭 overall i just REALLY love all the performances this episode. i have a list ranking every performance that i periodically update and every performance this episode is in my top 10. if i had to show one episode of project alpha to someone to get them hooked it would probably be this one (although it does spoil who makes it this far😭) music’s elimination hurts SO bad. in the first episode i didn’t pay much attention to him but he climbed up my list of favorites so hard and so fast. i figured it was coming given that he was teammates with champ and aungpao who are both super popular but that didn’t make it hurt any less the first time. aside from my own personal bias towards him its just so disappointing when the person who gets the most praise from the judges gets eliminated. it’s the same with karn back in episode 3,,, he got so many compliments from the judges only to be eliminated. i Would say something like “it’d be cool if the judges were able to choose the one contestant they think did the best out of the losing teams to be safe from elimination” (bc they’d choose karn in ep3, music here, and probably tui in ep5 and ep7 which wouldn’t change anything) but if karn had stayed back then, music would’ve been eliminated so who knows how this would’ve gone😭. i will never forget watching this episode on call with my friend who initially didn’t really have a big connection with any of the contestants and hearing him scream so loud when music was eliminated that his mic cut out😭 no matter how many times i’ve watched this episode i still tear up though. his friendship with time makes me so 🥲🥲🥲🥲. they don’t show them interacting much on the main show but in the behind the scenes series, alpha lab, the two of them hang out a lot and we find out that they became super close friends bc music’s dad would drive time home from practice/recording every day. their age gap (17 and 22) makes it kinda seem like a brotherly friendship too which is really cute🥲 now that we’ve gotten to the last survival beta episode i just wanna say i thought it was So funny back in ep1 when you revealed which contestants you had given stars to bc all of the best betas were given one. it also kinda drives me crazy that deaw could’ve been best beta in EVERY single round but his team always ended up in second place😭 (i think hong also could’ve been best beta had sexy x lady won, but for just being friendly, fan mai nha koon, and can i call you mine, it was 100000% gonna be deaw) i’m so excited for ep10! some really great performances that episode. hopefully i’ll be able to watch right away. thanks for the great reaction as always :)
