yayyyy glad it’s here,,, i have a lot more thoughts compared to last week somehow. overall this group was a lot weaker than group 1 but i don’t think there was anyone who did BAD i’m just gonna say right away that i did kinda unintentionally spoil myself for who the alphas were a while ago😭 when they released the trailer for the entire season, they showed one second clips of each of the performances from ep3. i guess they assumed people wouldn’t be able to tell who was who? but in two of the performances they actually had the members’ names written in the background😭😭😭 so i was able to find out that achi, gundam, hero, tar, and winnie were a team and that leo, mac, manny, and yuta were a team. from there i kinda just went and paused on the other teams and was able to figure them out EXCEPT i mixed up lambert and earth. and bc of that, i thought i saw that earth, future, mono, and nampun were a team and i was like “surely that’s the alpha team!!!” so i went into ep1 assuming those were the alphas. but then when jue and job were chosen i was like. wait,,,, that means that t-rex and p are the next alphas????? what???? during the alpha camp broadcasts, lambert leo and p were the three contestants i was worried about bc none of them had much experience, and p was the one i was most worried about. p struggled a lot with dancing And vocals so im genuinely so impressed by how much he’s improved already it’s actually crazy. like i think if you watch his performance here with no context it’s good but nothing crazy. but knowing where he came from a few months ago it’s like,,, woah this kid is insane. i’m really so impressed by all three of their improvements but especially p’s and even though he wouldn’t be my choice for alpha (i’d choose nampun and either t-rex or hero) im so proud i think i would say that manny seemed invested in the concept to me but i dont know if its as much as his other performances . obv you haven’t seen them but in the pre show performances he just looked so happy to be performing and the energy DID ooze out of them there so i do think he did well here but he didnt seem as happy as he did in the less happy songs😭 but overall i did like his performance. def biased bc he’s my fav contestant so far but i thought it was a lot of fun! it just doesn’t seem like he added enough to his performance. like he could handle the dance moves and vocals well here so i think he COULDVE done a more challenging song or added more challenging choreo to make himself stand out more while also pushing his energy as his main focus. like,,, jue is also someone whose main selling point is his energy and stage presence but he still had some interesting vocal moments and a cool dance in his show. i agree with your comments on achi’s performance . i think zani was moreso talking about practicing his technical skills like singing and dancing bc he does need to improve those but also his performance did come off as very very scripted and over prepared almost. from what i can tell lambert does actually wear glasses a lot of the time so it wasn’t just for this performance BUT he also tends to take them off when he’s performing like in the pre-show stuff so it definitely was a choice to keep them on at the beginning. today’s actually his 20th birthday so . he’s old enough that it wouldn’t be like Creepy for the judges to talk about him being sexy (the way they talked about p’s performance was so weird!!!!!!) but like,, he’s still young enough that like . not being perfect at pulling off a “sexy” concept shouldn’t be a big issue the judges’ comments on nampun’s performance are the most i’ve ever disagreed with them aside from dan’s comments towards lego’s battle against hong and fluke😭 i got Everything he was going for there and was completely invested . i genuinely cannot fathom why he got negative comments for that performance omg. i’m sure there’s some nuance lost in the translation but honestly reading the song lyrics i don’t even think his performance was particularly mismatched from them??? i genuinely think he’s probably the most talented contestant on the show if you combine every aspect of what a good idol should be. he’s not the best dancer or vocalist and he doesn’t have the number one best stage presence but he’s good enough at all of those that when you combine them together you get a very very very well rounded and talented idol and it’s CRAZY that he’s only 16. if you look in the comment section of the episode, every comment that isn’t about t-rex or p is like “why did the judges say that about nampun :( i thought he communicated so well” i agree with your comments on t-rex’s performance but i think not to the extent you do? like i’d say i did feel what he was trying to show but it wasn’t enough. i think overall, this season’s contestants are kinda on an even level? i feel like the worst performances from the beginning of last season were a lot worse than the worst performances here, but the best performances last season were better than the best performances here. although this current alpha team is strong, the only one i think is comparable (for now) to the sheer talent of last season’s initial alphas is job. i’m a little worried for how they’ll do next episode just bc they don’t have someone who focuses on vocals. none of them are BAD at singing but they don’t have a william or a fluke😭 i’m really not sure how i feel about the new alpha rules. first of all i wish they had alpha chairs it looks so awkward when they’re just standing😭😭😭 but second of all i feel like these new rules make the alphas feel less special. instead of the betas fighting to join an elite team, they’re kinda just fighting to ,,, stay with their teammates and be ineligible for elimination. obviously that’s still a big deal but i feel like there was such a special feeling for nicky and tui getting to JOIN this team rather than replacing the team. i like that they’re trying to change up the alpha seats more often (bc that’s a problem people had with last season) but i feel like they could’ve done that by 1) choosing two best betas per round or 2) doing things the way they described, where the best beta team and alpha teams face off, but then members are chosen individually, like how they ended up choosing the final lineup for lykn by judging the group performances individually. that way we COULD have a situation where all four members of a beta team become alphas, but we could also get just one or two of them becoming alphas while the other alphas stay. i have a lot of high hopes for m2, they have some of the best vocalists in the show!!!! but i also have my eye on m4, they’re really great as well

thees character I think he was trying to protay that to much maybe cuz of the song he was singing and the outfit I think he was trying more so to protray the character of the song he was singing that doing it and making it his own and making it a performance and acting it out and less about the dancing and more about whos sign he was singing and being that character in the performance and les abtu making it his own stage I think that was his problem but if you know the character this would amek more since to why he was doing this which you dont know yet the context for that but I think if he made his performances more in his own style not tyrogj to be the characters the songs are from thats why I think picking a OST from charcter in a series was kind of the wrong things to do maybe ND I think his play for like series and playing characters is more for him to be heosn the would prob be a pretty good gmmtv actor though

but to me if he was trying to protray Mr thee I feel he didn't do it enough like the scripted funny stuff and overdramtic stuff wasn't enough but you wouldn't know that cuz youa haven't started the show yet but I feel he picked the wrong song so this type of comption sicne its a idol show I think he shouldn't have picked a ost form a series by a character where he felt he needed to protray that character and stick to that but he cant make it hso own like that so I feel picking a OST by a charcter was the wrong choice here maybe that's just my thoughts

I do prefer the betas to be chosen individually as alphas instead of a whole team. I think we really miss out on individual contestants mixing and blending with others. By keeping a whole team intact I feel like it's a way for the show to predetermine the winners lol.

right like! i get that they want the alphas to change more frequently but honestly i feel like this format makes it more likely for one team to just stay as alphas the entire time😭 if at some point, a super strong well rounded team (like idk. earth job nampun and vj or something) formed, it would be SO hard for another team to take them down. at least last season, if one of the alphas had a slightly weaker performance, a beta could worm their way in there. i feel like the longer a team stays together, the more their chemistry will grow which’ll make them more unbeatable. by the third round in season 1, william fluke nut and lego had such a strong team bond and chemistry (to the point that they edned up messing up to some extent when nicky replaced nut) so i feel like bringing that bond into a competition makes it so hard for the competitors. if one team ends up being alphas for like three weeks, how can a newly formed team take them down?

I feel like no one would be able.to.compete and the show would get boring cuz it's not going to work and the alphas will skit stay the alphas I enjoy last seasons rules more or doing then individually like you said I feel like the alphas would stay the same more this way and the show would get to boring and the show wouldn't be a comparison much and we would ahve to smaw winners the whole time less of chance to change the alphas this way

Alps I feel the production her isn't as good as season 1 you would think won't all fen succes the first season gave gmmtv and the creation of lykn on top of that and all their projects this show created it would have better production cuz like the theme opening downs their that good and Alps there's no alpha throwns like it feel cheap production of the stage and other aspects of this season
