And this would be more of a question. Is it possible to add high quality LODs?

you can use project2dfx to increase the lod distance. its possible to do this while keeping the game fog, just need to config the .ini file

yes, but sometimes they look awful. even using 2dfx. values: TimedObjectsDrawDistance = 5.0 NeonsDrawDistance = 0.0 LODObjectsDrawDistance = 6000.0 GenericObjectsDrawDistance = 0.0 AllNormalObjectsDrawDistance = 200.0 VegetationDrawDistance = 800.0 LoadAllBinaryIPLs = 0 PreloadLODs = 1

Tried removing the widescreen, it does get further when I click new game but in the loading screen it just plain white, but the game crashes when the loading bar reach the middle. You can checkout the github , I've updated it with some screenshots
