MarkFelix Alternate Universe Storyline: 

• In the 2000's, FCA (owners of Ferrari) needed to make a move to consolidate political power in the F1 paddock, with rising manufacturer involvement all over the grid, including the VW group with the Mclaren-Porsche and Bugatti team
  
  The idea was conceived to return the iconic Italian manufacturer Maserati back to Formula 1 and field a works team, this was done by purchasing the Faenza based Minardi squad, and investing a lot into the infrastructure to make the team competitive. Overtime, Maserati became a force to be reckoned with and today compete with the backing of Stellantis.
  
  Maserati's returning F1 car is named the Maserati 251F, to honour the fact that Maserati's last world championship winning F1 car was the Maserati 250F with Juan Manuel Fangio.

  Modern Storyline: 

• With the situation at alphatauri looking unstable, RedBull considered selling their second team, this gave Stellantis chairman John Elkann an idea: to return the Italian manufacturer Maserati back to Formula 1, considering Maserati's F1 championship history and AT being based in Italy it's a seamless fit, and so a purchase of the team was finalised.

  Maserati's returning F1 car is called the Maserati 251F to honour Maserati's F1 title winning 250F car.
