The dream control your talking about is lucid dreaming. Ive also done it since I was around 7 or so and mine was triggered by a nightmare. And I did it right up til I was in my late teens on a regular basis and often took naps just to start one haha. I do it incredibly rarely in recent years for some reason. I'm sure the story snd timeliness will all come together for ya by the end. It can be hard to follow as it's happening. The uncles demon is one of my favourite parts of this series. Soo creepy.
