It may have been my comment about the suitcase you referred to and I didn't mean it as a spoiler. I was just speaking of what I myself thought after watching the episode back when it first came out 1 EP per week. I thought back to the special episode in the diner and then the suitcase. I don't think it's an elaborate plan to unalive herself, but in that specific episode I commented on she just isn't planning on avoiding it either. I think she has accepted that "This is who I am and it's going to kill me", and with the acceptance there is a sense of why not just go out doing what I love, no point in fighting it. There's more pain in holding back the drug use. She didn't expect the Laurie situation and don't want to suffer, she wants to sit back with a patch of Fentanyl and go to sleep. Short and sweet, she didn't worry about the suitcase too much and paying it back because she thought she wouldn't survive the content in it.

It’s a hell of an insight to the mentality. But I do think there’s a plan involved because of it. She went from Fez (a much nicer situation that didn’t work) to spider who almost used her as a private sex toy, then Laurie who made it clear she will get her money one way or another. I totally get that it might be spontaneous in nature but the fact that she’s placed herself in these situations, even after she knows what those consequences are, and without any real agenda to off herself other than just letting the drugs do their thing and sooner or later it will happen, I can’t help but think she wants it to happen. In some way she feels she deserves it. When you mentioned it, I went back to my head space when I was drinking myself to nothing and it made total sense. I wasn’t going down like Rue, but I was fully accepting to go down whatever road my drinking was going to take me as long as it led to my eventual demise. I didn’t feel worth saving and at all significant in this world. It was just a simple idea like I’d be walking across the street one day (drunk of course) and I’d get hit by a car or something. Those kinds of thoughts gave me comfort that this reality would end at some point and it didn’t feel like it would have been by my own hand. But that’s not where it was going. It was going to a very painful and slow passing. Where I would definitely have a chance to reflect on these decisions before I go and therefore not only be tortured physically but mentally as well. And even after I saw that that was the probable outcome, I didn’t care. I thought it was exactly what I deserved if it came to that. But now that I think about it when I’m sober, I KNOW I had no real idea of what that all actually meant. It was all just a means to an end. But that end would have ripped me apart. Everything I am would have mutilated. I may not have known the full affect of what I was doing, but there was definitely a plan involved no matter how simple it’s execution was. And I might be way off on this all but it’s certainly a possibility. And you saying this little tidbit was not as much a spoiler as it was a way to see Rue and even remember it for myself. It’s been a long time for me to look down this rabbit hole. But things like what you said are exactly why it’s important. To remember what I am capable of is to remember why I’m sober.
