I Am Not Chamari

This is my third time watching this episode and I think the third time I just… didn’t breathe during it. What insanity this episode was. I liked how you noticed that Tina was somehow the most well-adjusted person in this entire predicament. Shows a lot about her work ethic and her attitude, although she was tough to deal with earlier. Carmy under this amount of stress just turns into a complete monster and made it worse by insisting that him and Sydney were good although he was CLEARLY bothered by her offering the risotto to the critic and just didn’t want to be a big boy and have that conversation. And yes, Sydney fucked up by keeping the pre-order on, and maybe this is naive of me to think, but with such a big program, I do think Carmy should have been checking Sydney’s work. This is what happens when you rely too heavily on an employee because they are impressive high-achievers - you don’t get a chance to catch their mistakes! I feel bad for Marcus, but sometimes we need to help him read the room a little better because that was NOT the moment to bring that damn dessert in Carmy’s face at all lol

Aloha Record Sargent

It's been 15 years since I worked in restaurants, and I *still* have server nightmares. Yeah. But anyway, agree with the other comments that this was a legendary episode (next one is good, too), and that somehow Season 2 is even better!

There's a interesting article on vulture about this episode. They discuss the filming of it, but what I found interesting is the details about performance. Each take Ebon Moss-Bachrach decided to play Richie more reserved while Ayo Edebiri played Syd as more furious each time. Jeremy Allen White thought about the review and decided Carmy had heard about it before he got to work, someone had texted him or he it read on the way in so then Carmy was starting the shift from a place shame, because he felt like he'd been one upped by Syd. I feel like knowing that adds an extra layer to his performance
