August 2026 Status Update! (Patreon)

HELLOOOOO again! Long time no see, been a whole ass World Cup since my last update huh? XD

Anyway, to make a long story short, that's because continuing the trend from earlier this year, my ass is working on recovering from burnout and maybe even restructuring the way I work. As a result, I'm going to be taking a LOT more time off, especially since the last few months where I DID take time off, I ended up discovering that I was enjoying drawing again.

In short, my hobby has turned into way too much of an actual job to be fun, and that's just causing a whole cascade of problems for me mentally and healthwise. It really sort of hit home when during the months I took off, I still drew a bunch of stuff, just because I felt like it, or thought 'hey this'd be cool or sexy, lemme do it' and then just going for it, only for the resulting pic to turn out WAY better and more enjoyable than some of the work pieces I do lol

It's why I keep telling people to mayyyybe lean into requests from the flavor lists I post every month (and am inevitably ignored), cuz I definitely do better work when I enjoy it lol

It's also why I've been becoming increasingly stringent on what work I'll actually accept too, I used to be a lot more flexible, but after several years of this, I think I've lost a lot of that willingness due to burnout XD

Anyway, with that said, the only major change will be my break months will no longer shutdown patreon entirely like they used to, since now the only change will be refunding people in like the actual reward tiers ($50 and up), since I will not be taking any work during those months I decide to take off. Lower tiers will still be billed, simply because (A) I can still earn a living off of that, and (B) I'll still be posting pics and work on here during those months since lord knows I have nearly 3 whole years of stuff done and just queued to upload, not to mention whatever new stuff strikes my fancy, so yall will still get your money's worth XD

Besides, the last few breaks I've taken will hopefully prove I can deliver on that promise, hence why I'm officially posting about it now!

Anyway, with that in mind, I believe I can officially state my work schedule for the rest of the year:

August: OPEN
September: CLOSED
October: OPEN (of course its open, yall know halloween is the apex of my power!)
November: OPEN
December: CLOSED (as per usual, so any christmas requests, get em in November!)

With that in mind, holy cow have I been busy during this time off. FInally sank my teeth into Lords of the Fallen, something on my list for AGES due to how ridiculously aesthetic it is, and as an alternative to Dark Souls, i.e. having actual quality of life and accessibility options in terms of multiplayer, co-op and functionality, most of which I'd have to fukken mod into a souls game to get, Elden Ring included. 100%ed that shit, I love it so much. Not perfect, has some deep flaws, but I think I have a thing for games like that, especially since the devs worked tirelessly since launch to listen to player feedback and implement all that QoL I mentioned above to make a game miles better than it was on launch. Can't recommend it enough, definitely give it a try if you want some more souls on your plate but don't feel like dealing with Fromsoft's natural silliness XD

The other big one is, of course, PALWORLD BAYBEEEEEEE LETS GO PALS ITS ALL ABOUT THE PALS SPIDAHMAN-

As someone with 500+ hours on this game even when it was still in early access, of COURSE I dove back in when it launched its 1.0 finally last month. EVen made a brand new save, something I would never do for something this expansive with so many hours sunk into an old file. Already beat it, 100%ed my Pal-dex, hunting down legendary schematics, and turning my attention to actual base building and construction (beyond yknow, the stuff you need to survive and make it throught the game XD). In short I LOVE IT, and that should say a lot considering this type of survival crafting thing isn't normally my jam. Absolutely LOVE the designs for all the Pals, plus some even got reworked from early access to distinguish them even further from a certain other franchise that tried (and completely failed) to sue Palworld, so I won't lie, there's definitely a degree of spiteful enjoyment in my heart too XD

BUT at the end of the day, the actual gameplay and world design is just way too different to be a fair comparison, it's like apples and oranges...but I like oranges way more, as it turns out, so I'm thriving. Much like LotF, I cannot recommend this game enough, and it's also super cheap, Absolutely pick it up if you have the chance, it's amazing and they deserve to be rewarded for their hard work!
