The shots are artistically great but I don't like seeing people bound and chained It makes me think of people with their freedom taken away and I would like to see you free and joyful. But I know it's an artistic statement

My first thought was D/s play, but it's more aggressive than that, so now I see a portrayal of Madonna/Whore complex, mixed with the controlling strings of the patriarchy? But also, your recognition of those strings, and being able to break one (if not yet all). To me, it's kinda commenting on some of your commenters who insist you can't and shouldn't be taken seriously due to your embracing of your sexuality, but only because they refuse to look at you with anything other than their patriarchal lens.

Trading money for objectification has strings attached. Also you’re hot.

Looks to me like the default response to women - wanting to control you, wanting you for your body, trying to control you in the context of what that means for men. It goes along with your whole thesis of seeing women as people - that there are expectations put on you because of certain kinds of dress or ways you carry yourself that are on society, not you.

This is you struggling against the 1:1 s/w requests and how they made you feel.

Chaz Adams

My interpretation is that there is a draw to the money and giving up control but it can compromise you and make you question yourself

This is a statement that when a man and woman agree on a transaction, it is nothing more than a transaction.

Stephen Gray

Clearly this is about the process of applying for research funding. That pink (coral?) set was absolutely made you for tho 🥹💖

I see the decisions that the patriarchy are forcing on women. The two categories they can conceive women to be: bought or married. I like the puppet on the string images and I’m getting the breaking free and realising that you were holding the string the whole time or allowing someone else to hold it. The last image looks like that realisation. “I’m in control now/ unbound”

YESSSSSSS My slight deviation from this interpretation is that it’s my string, I chose the strings that bind me. But what choices did I really have?

It's reminiscent of Sabrina Carpenter's new album cover

People beat me to the interpretations on patriarchy, the objectification of 1:1 and the sublimation of the aforementioned - I had to come to these comments and say that this shoot is brilliant!
