When I say “tax resistance,” and we think about protesting taxation without representation in the US’s fascist government, what questions come to mind for you?

TBH, what comes to mind are right wing Sovereign Citizen types. What would withholding taxes accomplish but make you an easy target for said fascists to destroy your life and take all your money with criminal penalties and the like? And why suspect it would do anything than defund social programs first? And how will that affect the image of the left among people who do pay their taxes? I think people are losing focus: go back and read/view the aftermath of the 1980 election (an actual mandate election) and what happened two years afterwards. There's a reason the GOP is pushing redistricting - they don't think they can keep Congress without it. Tangent, but that's also a reason why it pains me to see a lot of people on the left with a tin ear towards winning the midterms (and more often than not it's some Bernie Bros comfortably off white guy who just happens to benefit from GOP/MAGA rule doing it).
