I had one the other day. I don't know how to encapsulate it but basically our reality is constructed from situation models in our heads made partially from sensory input of the objective world but mostly from seniotic arbitrary valuations and experiences which are real just not objectively real. Qualia are real subjectively. And Qualia are the parts we get fired up about. Hyperreality isn't a bug it's a feature. Hence for some people essence really does orecede existence. For people like me existence precedes essence ( categories and identities are constructs even if the people or things in the categories do possess a quanta the choice to categorize is semiotic not objective). But the realization was for other people they truly are living in a reality where essence comes first. The final realization for me was not to try to undo polarization perhaps but find some peaceful coexisting. Perhaps the existential and essentialist humans have drifted too far apart to reconcile so coexistence is a better aim. Like the old stories where humans and the hidden folk were once one but eventually drifted too far apart.
