What’d y’all think of my last post about nicotine vapes? They really are a whole lot safer than cigarettes, but still create the risk of lung injury— though that seems to be a rare event rather than a statistical inevitability. The lung injuries from certain flavors end up producing the same type of tissue damage that COVID does (diagnosed by X-ray, called ground glass opacities)

Just that it’s hard for the FDA to regulate all the manufacturers of these products, hence why you see more consumer issues since crappy / impure manufacturing of a simple product slips through the cracks…at least compared to manufacture of more complicated (pharmaceutical drug) // more widely-used (food) products. *Deaths* from a fcking blueberry vape pen should not be happening, though, which is why something has to give - and my bet is that either government approval will eventually be restricted down to only reputable vape manufacturers, or the FDA will have to restructure/hire more inspectors to the office which covers these types of products. Oh, and I think you’re really, really beautiful, inside and out. ☺️

OH MAN I love this topic. It's silly to think humans are ever gonna kick nicotine as a species. I myself love the stuff absolutely a drug that has a two hour half life controls my mood... to a point. The rest is between me, my willpower, and classic bipolar disorder. But that one 5-10 minute cigarette break... oh it has so many benefits socially extending beyond mood control. Am I feeling uncomfortable in conversation that I'm feeling left out of? Go for a smoke. Is it particularly loud inside where I am (possibly ASD but I love a good rowdy punk show)? Go for a smoke. Is a family gathering conversation steering in the direction of a topic I'll get in trouble for weighing in on (I'm a "Liberal". No, I'm a Leftist). Go for a smoke. The social escapes are friggin endless. I can't do that most of the time with a vape plus the fact that I prefer the taste of a dart to a vape keeps me smoking. The What am I getting at here? The only reason any of my friends or colleagues, who took up vaping without ever being a smoker, say that I should switch is because I smell like smoke. Vaping is the new socially acceptable way of smoking since people don't really care about what's bad for them, they only care about how they will be perceived for partaking in a vice. Edit: I apologize, Dr. M. I got so wrapped up in my end of the work week tirade about the social acceptance of vapes I absolutely submitted my poorly written essay without telling you how cute that bikini was, dude! I loved the pattern and the cut was really creative. Plus, girl, you ATE that shit let's gooooo! Happy Friday! I'm going for a smoke haha

Hahahaha thank yoooou!! I totally agree with you! I just hate having to do that because it's "rude" or "what's so important on your phone that you can't talk to us?" I've personally noticed that people take offense to me using my phone to intentionally escape awkward situations. My addiction "causing me" to miss out on any socialization is much less likely to be personally offensive to most people. At least they're much less likely to say anything about it which is no different to me because my discomfort for which I am using smoking for any social escape/break, when expressed, is usually met with scrutiny or offense. If I ain't gonna win either way, I might as well lose on my own terms. Plus, I have a really hot gravelly voice that could also be from all the whisky I've drank so far in my life, but I'm not sure. The jury's still out on that one. What's your take, Doc?
