Question on Perspective (Patreon)

Howdy! When playing a visual novel, do you have a preferred perspective? Above, I have the same scene (meeting Jenny for the first time) where it's either from first-person, or over-the-shoulder third person.

Personally, I think I like the third person perspective better for cinematic purposes, but the first person view is nice too because it looks like Jenny is talking to "you", not a "character".

The Super Fan

When I play a game, {me personally}, I prefer the camera behind the character(s), watching them walk around the environment. If optional: I select - First person view - when I interact with another character. You can see the animation of them talking. But, if the player only has 1 view to select, then I choose the first person view. It makes you feel more engaged in the story. I see excellent high quality and excellent work, AmomynousGames. Keep up the good work. And, I can't wait to play.

That makes a lot of sense! I think it's going to come down to what feels right for a particular scene. Like this scene, it makes sense to have both views. Showing them talking to each other in third person view, and some first-person views for the more engaging dialog.
