Final sneak peek in colour (I'm such a sucker for night lights!)

I really do hope that this is the final art style that I'll settling on for MPL, both in terms of colouring and the way I draw their faces. I feel like as much as 'improvement' is always welcome, the inconsistent art style might throw people off as well (and also makes me feel like tearing my hair out sometimes, lol).

It's just that (and I'm not sure how it is for other artists?) the way I 'see' my art evolves, sometimes very rapidly, so I'm always making tweaks to my style to keep up with my evolving 'vision'. Sometimes it can be triggered (and I don't mean this in a negative way) by someone pointing out that 'the way you draw xxx is too xxx' and after I while, I start seeing it that way as well. For instance many episodes back, a few people were commenting that Tora's chin was too long and nose too small/short. And truth be told, I NEVER saw it that way until people started pointing it out. Definitely very grateful that people pointed that out to me lol.

Ok that's all for my little art rant. Back to colouring, see you guys in a couple days time when I update ❤️

I agree. I try not to look at my early episode comments because I already know what they may say, my art is constantly improving and what I thought was phenomenal a few months ago, I can't stand the site of now ToT I feel like we're on the same artistic journey right now and it feels good not being alone. I too think I'm finalizing my style into something I hope to keep and that feels great. Please keep up the great work, your improvements and dedication are very refreshing ❤️ fighting 😊~

Oh my God sameeee! I was going on perhaps 4 years of only doing art when I was paid and long periods of nothing in between artistic suicide really ToT so having to draw almost everyday now for the last 9 months have been a mixture of falling back in love with art and just fine tuning my art for all those years of just nothing ToT I'm always gonna be rooting for you hon :) and thank you so much for the compliment, sqeeee ❤️😊

Emma Lou

I feel like through AB you grew so much, to be fair I'm not much of an artist so you and others probably notice the small tiny details. 😂 But I just love your work so I hope that counts for something. I would definately buy prints if you ever decided to do something like that 👍

Eva

So proud of you for finding your artistic voice ! So excited for sis updateeee!!!!

Kuro Mono

lmao i remember when you pointed out my mistakes too hahaha but bruh you're the only one i know now that strive that far for perfection and we have a bunch of years ahead to keep improving. I honestly love changes in art esp. if it gets better and better in your case xD

Tory Galvez

Honestly I love it. Just seeing the banner picture next to this update is amazing. The sublty of the changes is great! I think that's the point of doing webtoons though is finding better ways to draw and improve yourself with your characters. Tweak as much as you want I'm enjoying it all 😍

Kristina Shelton

I love your art. Your changes are not extreme and I like that. I read one of someone's who confused me so bad because from 1 episode to another it looked completely different and was very inconsistent. SO THANK YOU for doing an amazing job and I love the changes you have made. Keep up the great work 😁😁

I say Lilydusk that these are your character's and you draw them the way you see fit, just like everyone in this world, we are all different, we are shaped different we have different everything, so for someone to start pointing out, let's say" people's flaws", is a shame on them. I love your art style, it is your not theirs, you make it yours, don't do things to please others, because believe me, you start doing that and it's a never ending thing, if they don't like it, then, they can just get over it, you are very talented and I can't wait for more of Poppy land and your other comic, because believe me girl, I am not going to complain about those men, just damn sexy as hell.🤤

As Karen said, go with whatever is in your heart. Everything you do is precious. No one can please everyone, much less all the time. I think that is part of our life purpose is to learn how to listen to ourselves and trust that. It's ok to consider others thoughts and feelings. But in the end, only that which truly you is what will fill the hearts of the people who need you. So then no need to worry about the others. I always love everything you do. So whatever you want is good with me.

I am more a story person. I love a good story. I always piece together a story. I use the plot pyramid from all my english classes to figure out that plot and it helps me remember what is going on. Thanks to all me English teachers 😂😂😂

Honestly, as a reader and fan of your art style, it’s been a pleasure to watch and see these changes. Perfection isn’t just present, you have to work at it and practice. And it’s clear you’re only getting better and creating something personal yourself. Don’t be harsh on yourself, or worry too much about those complaining... I feel they just don’t understand or appreciate your work. I would suggest them to go pay for comics that have been done by paid professionals if that’s what they are after. Please don’t stop doing it hat you have to if that makes you feel more confident with your work! I love seeing the differences. Makes the experience of reading and viewing your work periodically more enjoyable - that it’s not some mass produced printed image/story. If that makes sense 🤔 final word: I love your art and storyline’s. No one is perfect, but damn your men are close to it 🤣💕

Karen Alexander

Ok, I'm glad lilydusk, it just worries me when it seems like people are just so negative when it comes to things like this. I love webtoon and I love reading these stories, and it just pisses me off when I see people just tearing apart the very livily hood and hard work that you guys put in these amazing drawing and stories and sexy ass men,* clears throat* anyways, I see so many writers and drawer's get down and depressed because of these idiots writing stuff and saying such low and crude things, so I always want to be supportive and encouraging to talented people, to say, don't listen to them, keep up the good work, you are going somewhere great, and so many people do not want you to succeed, so that is me to you, go get them and then we can say, kiss my ass!!!!!!!

Karen Alexander

Oh yeah lilydusk, I have a screenshot of Ulaan coming back in the tent when he had to, um " cool down" I love that panel, just wanted to share that with you, he, he,he....🥰

SOPHIA A

Tora can feel free to get that up close and personal with me. Also, on a more serious note. I've re-read MPL and I'm sure if i were studying it I could see the differences in artstyles. But really only @ssholes are going to grill you over that. Artstyles change and evolve and people need to cut you some slack. Your artwork is very good and your story is amazingly compelling. I cannot wait to see where it goes. 😄❤❤❤

Maria Sofia

I mean they are that close...might as well pull her in for a kiss ya know?

Karla Bestard

When are you updating! Cant wait :D

Alanna peden

Thanks for all the hard work you do for us!!

Ghost

I think it’s really awesome you acknowledge your artistic differences. I find it really exciting seeing an artist’s style evolve and improve as their series progress. It’s like refining your style. I actually did notice the same things as people pointed out earlier with the chin and stuff and then as the chapters went on I saw the tweaks and I was super excited about it. Not that your art style before was bad, because I still loved it enough to keep going, plus the story was super intriguing. But I’m just super excited overall for all your works and your art journey as well. You’re doing awesome and every difficult moment is just an clearer indication of the direction you really want to go.
