There is excellent story flow on these panels. Where we get glimpses of a dark past and see Tora shooketh the ticket lady. He must of noticed she was hungry and as the kind soul he is, gave her the number to get sausages. But to be real we all would be shook if Tora looked at us like that.

This episode has me so hooked on the backstory between Goliath and Tora. We didn’t get much of a glimpse into their relationship in the original, and I’m so curious as to why Tora would be willing to help him after Goliath ratted him out. He’s really such a sweet, damaged soul, it pulls at my heartstrings ❤️ Id have let the bastard rot, but I think Tora’s a lot nicer than I am 😈

Episode 2!! I love the beauty that the artwork holds. You are so subtle with the impact that Poppy has on Tora when he first sees her. His sudden stare; top lip lifting and cigarette tilting downward show a lack of attention and hold. Then you hit us with the accidental burn on the finger. It’s all so discreet and adorable. It made me melt when I first read it and still does each time I reread it. You can tell Poppy has an impact on him. A subtle love at first sight moment.

hmm, so I completely fell for Lily’s post back in the summer saying oh she had a moment of inspiration and wanted to draw T and Q back in middle school. Huh, good one. and I am so HAPPY! give us the whole story! all the dirty juicy secrets! Wondering if Goliath will actually get a story or is just a plot device to kick things into motion. Panel #16 I took a pause at this one and thought long and hard “wait wait is this the first time they are in the same panel together!!!” - went back and checked, no it wasn’t, not really, but wow how dominating he is there is scary - Poppy oblivious of what she’s on the cusp of with her Magical Unicorn phone cover... how the sunlight falls one last time on that phone and Tora’s in the shadow with Poppy’s head already in a shadowy place, her face reflecting her mood trying to hang in there. *sigh* Thank you,Lilydusk, for your work, it looks simple (because it’s so clean?) yet it’s so .... full, complex, detailed - that’s when you know it’s really good.

Is that Tora & Quincy in the photo, or is it actually Tora & Goliath? I assumed it was T&Q when Lily first posted it, but with the story starting out with him getting calls from Goliath & what looks like flash backs to some kind of betrayal and the prominence of the picture has me thinking it is T&G as kids. Friends before Goliath joined a rival clan (at least it sounds like a rival clan from what Ronzo said)...Enquiring minds want to know!!!
