Ok, am I the only one who gets a deja-vu while looking at that panel of Tora running and cursing towards his car while holding Poppy's hand? It reminded me so much of that panel in the Halloween special after Tora punched Quincey...😂

When he looks up after she tucks his hair back...my goodness!! I could just imagine them in bed and her tucking that hair away in the morning! What a tender moment!

I loved so many things about this episode. I love Tora’s face when he realizes his car is being towed (seriously how do you even illustrate a punch to the gut because that’s what it looks like), the way Poppy plugs one ear when he’s cursing, the GORGEOUS lighting as they’re running through town, the detail of Poppy’s braids and flyaways, Tora’s messy mop cap that still makes him look like a Disney Princess, the backgrounds that make everything look linear and real and vibrant (like the one orange window idk but I dig it, it looks cool), the glare on the windows as the sun sets, the shadows on the sidewalks, Tora’s shirt coming untucked, Tora’s face when Poppy runs off, and THE TREES AND GRASS. Do you use a brush for them? Because it would honestly blow my mind if you drew all that vegetation. And the staircase scene is now my favorite scene of the whole series. I could stare at it for ages. I did stare at it for ages last night, actually. It’s really hard to put into words, but it feels like a breakdown of their relationship in a nice, pretty capsule. Tora leading her off the main path into the shadows, Poppy quickly climbing higher into the light, Tora stopping and Poppy going back down to him, all the while Tora was silently trying to help her, Poppy seeing through all the curse words and tattoos and muscles to how sweet and beautiful she is, Tora realizing she SEES him... ugh. It’s just so beautiful and heartwarming. I can’t wait to see how they get to Quincey now. I just love all these new scenes. It really feels like a fresh new start, but with characters I already know and love. Thank you for bringing it onto a free platform!

I think my favorite part of this episode and the tree-climbing episode are the goofy face Toras. It gives him this human and slightly vulnerable feel that contrasts so well with the harshness of his life and job. 🥰 Wonderfully written/illustrated.
