Seriously though, so many fun moments this episode! They were fighting over that hat like a married couple! 🥰😂 And Alice, OMG...I love that she embarrassed Tora! And how angry he gets about Jacob! There were so many small moments I loved in this one, but the piece that really blew me away was when Poppy reached out for Tora’s face about Jacob. Her comment to him about intentions and how to deal with people was so beautiful and mature. I love her outlook. Also I adore her gently and tenderly yelling at him to stop moving away from her trying to care for him.

And the fact that he started getting ready for the date at 8:30! And then took so long trying to fix his hair that he had to speed to the restaurant. He’s got it BAD.

Every week I am amazed at the art and the story telling. I read it so slowly to savor it. I keep scrolling up and down, up and down, looking at all the details. Burning question: How does Alice know about the XL??? And thank you to confirm what we all knew!🤣 I wonder if he often brings women in his den... Again, I love how Tora will jump to her defense no question asked. How he was hesitant to give her a compliment. They are so cute and natural around each other. The bad hair day was brillant! Someone had mentioned this before on an earlier chapter post, but I love the portrayal of their power “struggle” for lack of a better term. They flip flop on who had the upper hand in the relationship (the hat/shirt comeback, the hat wrestling, her concern for his head and then his for her not eating/Jacobs comments, and her ultimate assertion that she doesn’t need him to fight her battles) and I notice Poppy taking charge or exerting herself a lot more, while still maintaining her distaste for confrontation or causing others to feel awkward. She walks a tight line of being considerate while keeping in mind her own self-preservation, and it’s so amazing and inspiring to see her juggle both. I’ll run from confrontation in a heartbeat, but having the strength to assert yourself is a talent I envy. Poppy is a goddess 🌸❤️

The theory that‘s been floating around that young Poppy was in that photo with the boys is starting to look plausible. Poppy states to Tora that she’s been accident prone since she was a kid and that photo with the young girl with a scraped knee and Tora helping her in the background, seems like young Poppy indeed. Just as the intro from MPL says, “the dots are all connected.” And yes I do realize we ALL came to suspect that it could be her, HOWEVER it has yet to be confirmed... since we’re only 17 chapters in lol but damn y’all, how amazing would that be if Poppy and Tora met early on in life!

I just realized that we’ve known since Secret Garden #8 that Poppy was a sly little minx who knows how to play the game (if you don’t remember, it was the “earmuffs” one). Here she’s been fooling all of us that she’s a perfect little angel, but really Lily’s known she’s got a sneaky Devilish side all along 😏 “I was just trying to keep your ears warm!” 😂 She’s upped her game now though, so I can’t wait to see her other tricks 😈

I love this chapter so much ! I keep seeing people bring up the girl in the picture with going Tora being poppy . I don’t know if that would make sense because isn’t Poppy suppose to be 22 and Tora 26? I could be wrong but I thought the girl in the picture look closer to his age. I thought that it was just a reflection of Tora. While everyone is trying pose looking hard and cool Tora was trying to help someone who was hurt . 🤷‍♀️ I could be completely wrong 😅

Just wanted to drop a little extra bit of info on this ep! It might be a cultural thing so some of y'all might miss the significance and I thought I'd elaborate on it. So when Tora gets worked up because of Jacob, he somehow manages to calm himself down enough to pick up a piece of salmon and place it on Poppy's place. I don't know if it's perceived the same elsewhere, but in East Asian culture it's considered an act of 'taking care' of someone, and it's usually done by a more senior member of the family (or that one motherly friend who takes on the caregiver role within a group of friends. (Not me, for sure 😂)). In this case, it's Tora taking care of Poppy by putting food on her plate, making sure she's fed, and to me at least, it's one of the most intimate acts at the dining table, especially considering they've barely just met ☺️☺️

I love seeing the flashbacks of younger Tora. It hurts like hell but I love seeing how he has persevered and still kept his sweet and gentle side, hidden but still there. But I freakin hated seeing him made fun of or gossiped about. He must have been so lonely and I hate that.

I know it's been a while and I'm sorry I'm asking this question now. I am rereading the series and am confused about one of the dialogues. When Poppy is battling with Tora to get his hat off and in the panel right before when Poppy takes the hat off who says "You said so yourself"? Also, I deciphered that it was in reference to the comment about the concussion in the earlier panel. However, I have gone and reread the previous episodes (especially #MissionSavePoppyFallingFromTheTree episode) and I don't see any dialogues in the previous episodes where concussions have been mentioned. Anyone have any explanation for or insight on this??
