This is one episode that has really changed a lot from the past, which I think is necessary given the direction that the plot has developed. Any thoughts and theories? I'd love to hear them all <3Also because I have a feeling someone might ask - yes, Tora's natural hair colour is black. ;D

I think Tora dyed his hair blonde so he felt part of the family and fit in with the Balthuman's. Which makes me sad, cos he obviously just wanted a family but he just used to get beaten up 😥

So of course, we're all swooning- I mean, hot damn the way he asked her to sleep with him. 🥴 *But* I think we got confirmation of Tora having his heart broken in this episode. That comment from Alice- "There ya go, givin ya heart away again." I was not prepared for this level of emotional whiplash..😭

Congratulations on shaking me to my core. Tora was ALMOST starting to annoy me until Poppy put him in his place, at which point I realized that it’s all intentional on your part, Lily. His usual charms aren’t going to work on Poppy, and that’s one of the things that he finds so fascinating about her. So my heart really hurt for him when he thought that Poppy had somehow betrayed him by going to Lane, and it got worse when we saw that flashback of little baby Tora! Coming out of your shell is so fucking hard, and Tora is fortunate to have someone like Poppy who will take the time to coax him out.

Theory: this misunderstanding is the start of a rift that drives Poppy to Quincy.

I'm so interested to see what happens between Quincey and Pops... Even though Tora and Pops is OTP. I just can't wait to see jelly Tora... In regard to 'Ares Street Ace' Alice mentioning the heart break, I'm not sure whether that would be in reference to a previous relationship orrrr whether she is talking about the 'father and son' relationship he had/has with Balthuman... Also Quincey says if you 'ever bring a girl home' which makes me think he's never actually had a actual relationship. I think Tora died his hair blonde so he felt more equal to Quincey or to try and feel like Balthuman's son? Obviously we don't know the full details of how Tora became a part of that, but was obviously physically and emotionally abused by him badly. He was with Balthuman from a very young age. Balthuman has said he trained Tora from a young age and we've seen him locked up when he was very young. But Balthuman calls him son and shows concern for him when he tells him to stop smoking...one minute Barthuman refers to him as 'our boy' and the next 'dog' (ep 5) It's likely That Quincey didn't know what was happening. Also, likely that Goliath is Tora's brother just on similarity of appearance...has he been taken out by Balthuman?

I was wondering how the storyline would change to adapt to this new version. I feel the way he blackmailed her into going to her appartment wouldn't work in MPL 2.0. When she landed a punch I thought, that's it. She will ask him to come so she can explain Inspector Lane and clean him up. Also, the way Tora reacted when she punched him is very telling. He has such a gentle nature. This twist with inspector Lane probably reminded him that there is something else at play and Poppy might be involved. He must have felt betrayed. She seems so cute and innocent and he fell for it. He left because he was probably angry at himself.

Thanks Lilly!!!💓💓💓👌👌👌 But for real, this episode was just 👌 i love the chemistry between them, he is more laid back, boyish, flirty and... dare I say a bit... innocent? Poppy is not as naive and dumb as people think she is, and i love how he's surprised and pleased to find this out. That punch tho, had me cackling because he was not expecting that. It probably made him want to bug her even more. I can't wait to see what happens next! Thank you!! Also, Bobby. Yes!Thank you for keeping that!! 🥰👍💓

I did miss the alleyway scene where Poppy took his phone and ran, but this MPL has a much more mature Poppy that’s standing her ground! Proud of our girl☺️😭

Didn't seem like our Tora had much of a childhood so when he likes a girl, he torments her like a couple kids at the playground. Their chemistry is addicting! I do hope they make up!

I think he automatically defaults to how good things don't last long and, thus, is distrustful of others. Poppy's sweet nature got through to him, but her saying "no" to Tora picking up Inspector Lane's call snapped him back into his defenses.

So many good theories! I really like Emma Lou’s idea (though it hurts my heart😢💙) that young Tora dyed his hair to fit in more with the Balthuman family. It’s just building this picture of how broken and unloved he was as a boy and how that shapes the man he is today. I also love the idea that Poppy was the girl in the photo and that maybe she did something (unintentional because I don’t see Poppy ever being cruel on purpose) that felt like rejection to Tora. I hope we still get the accidental date at her place (because that was such a cute little arc) but also because I hope this misunderstanding doesn’t last. Tora does still have the pictures of her... 🤔If Quincey truly ends up in the way for a while, I hope it’s because Tora decides to step back for whatever reason and not because he is mad at Poppy. But I’m sure whatever Lily does with the plot, it’ll be awesome! Also Poppy’s dad! I love all the additional details we’re getting in the reboot 😍

Another thought I wanted to add- Poppy really held her own in this episode. Tora, honey, she ain't just feisty, she's sharp as a razor...I don't know too many women that would've deadpanned Tora the way she did when he propositioned her for sex. He seemed genuinely dismayed that his little tactic didn't work. 🤣

It’s interesting to me that Tora would have Lane as a contact. I’m curious on how this would play out. Especially as a gangster to have her clearly marked on his phone. I’m guessing he feels like Poppy is working with the police and now he doesn’t trust her...even moreso since she came tumbling out of the bushes. I hope this won’t play into chapters long of a misunderstanding. I’m also a big advocate of females learning martial arts. Top three to learn would be grappling (wrestling/Jiu Jitsu), boxing and Muay Thai. A brawler will never out technique a trained fighter. Psychological warfare is also very important and an interesting thing to study during all the interviews/public appearances, etc leading up to a pay-per-view fight with elite athletes.

I have So. Many. Theories... ugh my head and heart! 😩😭🤯 1. Tora and Goliath are brothers. (Idk why but I love the idea of them as twins. You know, one is huge and the other is so small) they have the same skin tone and eyes, plus their rings... (and kitchen boy jobs, which I love) 2. When Goliath ratted on “bigger fish” and the police came knocking, Tora copped a deal, and that’s how he knows Lang. 3. When Tora found that page from the notebook Goliath had, he didn’t seem to surprised about what it was. He knows more about it than the others already. 4. The apartment Goliath used as a safe house was his and Tora’s, that’s how he knew about the key. 5. Tora was a plaything for Quincy and trained to be his bodyguard in later years, that’s why Balthuman kept him around (total Stockholm syndrome, mafia family style) 6. Tora’s heartbreak probably goes so much deeper than a romantic one. Giving his heart away people who don’t deserve it is a common thing for broken kids to do. 7. Tora and the spiders... when they’re alone in the dark with you, it’s easy to hate on them (not every kid makes friends with them like Harry under the stairs). They were probably a horrific reminder of the cold dark places he tried to forget. 8. Quincy know some things. He knows enough to know not to get involved anymore than absolutely necessary. 9. Quincy and his goldfish colored car... and goldfish publishing. Just sayin... 10. Tora’s trying to get out, which is the saddest sadness that ever did sad a sad.

Oh shit y'all. Re-reading that flashback...reminds me of that conversation Tora had with Quincey about roughing people up and "taking out the trash". What if that was Tora stumbling in after his first kill? He reacts in much the same way Quincey did to the physical violence and something tells me the blood on Tora's shirt ain't his own..😱

What if he was forced to dye his hair and be Quincys body double. So Tora would be the target in any gang retaliation instead of Quincy. That’s why he keeps getting beat up. I saw the flash backs as a way to show why the characters were acting the way they were in that moment because of what happened in their past. In the photo Tora is back to his black hair, so if they had met back then, she would have remembered him. I mean I know I would never forget meeting Tora at any age.

Sooo did anyone notice a bet that Alice placed with this “bookie.” Alice states that “she promised to never see a bookie again.... but this is a VERY special occasion.” And she ends it off as if she’s talking to her (implied) dead son. Any theories to what this wager is on? My theory (and I hope to believe): Alice placing a wager on Poppy being the one who will end up being “the one” to get close Tora and breaking that tough wall of his. Anyways, let me know what your theories on this wager is about y’all!

I think she feels guilty but I also think she is a career driven young woman and tora is the only lead she has on getting a major investor for her company. I'm sure thinks that tora will refuse to help her if he found out she reported him especially after getting a general idea of what kind of "job" he has.

Loved this epidose Lily! Everything you do is magic! Anyway, I would just like to propose another take on the words "giving your heart away". It is not the best theory but what if it means "showing your emotions" instead of actually falling for someone. Like he gives himself away by showing how he reacts to this so truthfully? Because what sense would it make to fall for something if then the lines follow with the fact that he never lets people get close to him?

Ok gang. So I’ve slept on it. Processed this episode with calm deliberation like an adult, and I have come to accept the conclusion that: I AM NOT AN ADULT. Poppy has every right to have gone to inspector Lane. She has every right to do something about a random man taking a photo of her, any photo, especially a Pervy one, she should not have to apologize for doing a brave thing and going out of her comfort zone to make a report about the incident.... BUT. TORA IS UPSET. And I’m losing my shit still. I’m so sorry Poppy, but ya gotta be strong for a little while longer and maybe punch a little more sense into him please. Because I need that “sleep with me” taunt to become a reality and right now the chances of that are look’n slim 😭

I just hope he gives her a chance to explain, but like others have said, I can see this misunderstanding paving the way for Quincy. Whatever the outcome, I’m sooo here for all of it. I had so many emotions during this episode 😳 Tora being hurt at the end pulled so hard at my heart strings, I'm dying to see how they're going to patch this up! But I'm also really really reaaalllyyy looking forward to seeing how Quincy comes into this, and like many others, I'm wondering if this misunderstanding is where he makes his introduction to Poppy? 🤔 (To be honest, I'm just feeling a lot of love for Quincy too). I also had a thought last night wondering if Tora could be working undercover. Why would he have Lane’s number and picture in his phone? Also I love seeing Tora as a boy. He seemed like such a sweet and gentle soul but strong in spirit to still be a sweet and gentle man.
