I'm just so proud of Poppy for being brave and assertive and getting all that out while he was still there to hear it. Also, thank you for not drawing this out into 6 chapters worth of cliffhangers. The story is gripping and relatable and makes me want to cheer for them both, and it's so refreshing to just get through a complicated scene like this without tons of suspense and lingering drops! You're so good at what you do Lily, I'm so thrilled to have discovered your works. ❤

So many things... so so many Things! I literally made a list like an insane person... I’m very sorry: 1. Joe has Alice’s teeth and I love that so much 😂 2. Joe’s arm tats look like they’re covering up tattoos similar to what Tora has on his chest. Maybe Balthuman marks? 3. Tora’s single here. So the “give your heart away” comment probably wasn’t referring to a women but to familial love (also obvious from Alice’s musings I guess) 4. His jaw was broken! So awesome job whoever guessed that last episode! (Sorry I cant remember who it was but 👏👏👏👏) 5. You can spot the beginning of Tora’s sleeve underneath his T. Dude started getting intense ink pretty young! 6. Tora now wears Joe’s bracelet and ring (And that breaks my heart considering Joe didn’t seem to realize just how much Tora actually looked up to him 😭😭😭 7. Our girl is FREAKIN amazing! She is so observant and strong and just when I think Tora’s “play nice” comment is about to break my heart Poppy comes in with the save ❤️ GOD EVERY WEEK THIS SHIT GETS BETTER AND BETTER. Standing ovation for how amazing Lily is 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm enjoying the flashbacks and build up in Tora's background. I love good character development! It gives more hints to who he truly is as a complete person (and not just the sexpot he is, hehe). The art! ❤ The tattoos! ❤❤ Also...you be out here making hands and wrists sexy af. Loving it!

This chapter didn't feel short at all. I was glad to see Alice's son. I think he was part of a gang when younger. Not Balthuman, since he didn't have the neck tattoo. He must have been quite an influence on Tora for him to keep his ring and bracelet. Maybe all related to the incident Gyu was refering to? Maybe related to Quincey scar? Maybe that's when he died? Could it be that Tora was directly responsible for it? He keeps it to remind him of what happened. Maybe it's a constant reminder for him that people get hurt and die if they get close to him? That why he keeps touching it in his pocket, so he can keep a physical contact with it. I was glad to see Poppy tell him what she knows and clear up any confusion. She is intelligent enough to know he's a good person but seems from a world that might be anything but good. Once again, thank you for everything. We will always support you, so take the time you need with your family. ❤❤

Lily, I don't know why you felt you have had to apologise for this episode it didn't feel short at all. I for one think your episodes are so much longer than other creators and always appreciate them and the efforts you go to to bring this amazing story alive. I love that Poppy spoke up for herself and defended her actions in going to the police (not that she needed to!), and I LOVE that she was quick to realize that Tora was the one who saved her from falling from the tree. I can’t wait to see how the story with young Tora and Joe evolves. I hope everything is alright with you and your family, Lily 🧡

I can’t believe you considered this a short episode! It was a wonderful amount of content, and GOOD content at that. I loved getting a little glimpse into Tora’s backstory and who he got the ring/bracelet from. And thank you so freakin much for making Poppy such a brave character who’s willing to speak up and resolve conflict, because that’s clearly something Tora needs to work on ❤️

Lily, dear, I am having so many damn feels with this episode. This is gonna be a bit of a long comment, but I really feel I need to say this. This episode really tugged at my heart strings in a special way. That sign on the door has got me in tears y'all. I work with ex-cons and people on the wrong side of the law in my profession. It touches my heart so much that you would think to weave in that bit about second chances, Lily. People can and do change every single day. Shit, just last night at work, I helped a boy who couldn't have been more than 21, down on his luck and had just been released from prison. He had no way to get home and couldn't believe that we'd call him a cab and make sure he made it home safe. We had a good talk about getting back on the right path and not giving up because things are shitty right now. So imagine my surprise, that not a day after this, I see something so meaningful in my favorite comic. This hit me straight in the goddamn feels, so thank you Lily. I hope you and your family are on the mend, we appreciate you so much! 💜

This comment Tora made about her “playing nice” to him and “out of your life for good” I think speaks volumes about his self worth and how others perceive him. It’s so heartbreaking. Also cannot deal with Alice saying the way out of the clan is death. I hope it’s not foreshadowing because I’m gonna lose my mind. I read this with my husband and he said “oh no, he’s going to die in Poppy’s arms” and I just about slapped him. Ugh!!! On another note, hope everything is good at home. Sending you prayers! ♥️

Ok. Tinfoil hat theory: Inspector Lane took over for Joe after he died (protecting Tora/Goliath?) and now she tries to look out for them and get them out of the gang. Also that Tora is working with the police as a CI in some capacity. Also, be healthy Lilydusk! Hope you and your family are doing ok.

You all pretty much covered all the points in this episode. 😊 Still, because I can't really think straight right now (I'm honestly worried for Lily and her family) I ll come back later for a debate...🤔 Just one thing I'd like to mention: the interaction between Pops and Tora switched again. Until now, it seemed that Poppy, although with precautions, seemed to be focused on her goal of using his help to find out bout Mr Lam and solve the problem of her photo.... And Tora seemed to lose a little site of his objective and let his heart melt for her by letting his guard down... By now, his disappointment of her going to the police reminded him who he is and what he has to do... And switched to being kinda rude and aggressive. And I just think that now Poppy cares a lot whether he is or he is not mad at her... That's why she ran after him and opened up so sincerely in front of him... ❤️ Pffff our girl is falling for him too ☺️👏👏

**Original MPL spoiler warning** So while this restaurant scene plays out a bit differently from the original, I have a feeling poor Bobby is still getting stuck with the bill. Alice hasn’t gotten to where she is in the world by doing anyone any favors (plus the little lady’s got a gambling habit to fund) so I’m waiting for her to pop as soon as Tora leaves with a check 😂 On top of that, our fiery little match maker has to stoke the flames a bit. Tora needs a push and what better way to meddle than making our girl a little pissed at him 😈

One thing I can’t figure out. If Fred and Fran knew Tora as a kid, why does Fred ask “who the hell is Tora” when he answers the phone when the girls call looking for him? Maybe they know him by a different name?

Hey, guys! I'm a newbie here. Haven't read the old version, so can someone explain to me two things? What was that thing in Tora's pocket and.. well, don't tell me Alice's son died and Tora took his ring as a memento ._.

Don’t worry, you’re not missing anything for having not read the original. The story has followed the same general plot and if anything, this version is MUCH more detailed. Alice’s son’s story is brand new, so you know just as mush as any of us! As for the ring and bracelet in Tora’s pocket: when Tora caught Poppy when she fell from the tree, he realized she might have seen his hands and took them off for the meeting to keep his identity secret, not realizing she had already noticed them earlier when they were chasing Mr. Lam. We can assume from the flash back of Joe (Alice’s son) that they both used to belong to him, although we don’t know yet how Tora came to have them. I hope this helps!
