1. Poppy is a badass motherf**ker and I wish I had her balls. She’s the adorable counterpoint to Tora- he manipulates by fear and intimidation and she manipulates by misdirection, playing up her smolness, and hilarious favors. The girl can read people! 2. Unnamed cabby is a gem and I marvel at how much characterization goes into background characters. They’re not just plot devices, but relatable people with personalities. A freaking work of art 👏👏👏

Part of me is like: that club is called Miracle cause she’s finna need a miracle to get out of there alive. other me is like, it’s okay. It’s fine. I had a sudden though that Quincey might be at the club, but then I remembered that he's out on a date so I doubt he'd be there. Also, Tora working out and those tattoos!!!! I was really excited by all the upgrades (in the end you did the most of everything you heard for the sake of your story. I am super impressed) and most of all the storyline. A real thrill this week! Poppy is so freaking smart and determined! Props to the cabbie for being such a sweetheart. I will die if he was calling Tora as some have suggested!!! ❤️ Also, me being a dork and super tired, thought Tora was jumping a fence or a subway turnstile lol. When I realized he was working out I think my heart exploded! 😍 Ares Street just looked so sinister and the dudes hanging around staring at the cab made me scared for Poppy. She’s so brave! I know we’re all looking forward to the next few chapters and for anyone else who read v.1 - are you nervous because we’ll soon move beyond the first version into new territory? I am! We’re getting close now so I might need someone to squeeze my hand. It feels like I’m getting strapped into a free-fall ride at an amusement park lol. Can’t waaaaiiiiittttt!! ❤️❤️😂😍

Observation time: well we already know she’s taken some kind of self defense class from a flashback, we already know she can win a stare down, we already know she is cunning and uses her resources effectively... those are some great survival skills. anyone I know who’s like that has had a tough life or has had to fend for themselves. She doesn’t seem scared of Ares St. nor is deterred by any of the gang members. Also I caught that she tells the cabby if any of them bother him to tell him about Tora and the Balthuman Organization so I’m thinking she’s researched him and the organization and has figured out that Tora really is a “hotline to a lethal weapon.” I love this comic 😭❤️

I feel like I need to go to a group therapy session with other MLPosse members because this chapter was AMAZING! Straight up - the coloration and skirt slit change to Poppy’s outfit was perfect and feels like a better fit to the look she’s trying to pull off without making her visually appear too out of her age range. I also like that she is displaying the fact that she can think on her feet (or in this case, the back seat of a cab ride) and can use situations to her advantage without being malicious to anyone (even going so far to be reassuring to a tough looking cabbie whose knees are knocking out of fear). I loved the neon colors reflecting their lights and shadows on the scene and the ominous neon sign of the gang looking down at her while smol little Poppy looks up at this foreboding and powerful club entrance. Waiting for the next chapter is gonna be tough! I also gotta give the biggest of heartfelt thanks to Lily for devoting the time to enhance her characters’ personalities by letting them be in different hairstyles, different clothes, etc. and not the same look day after day.

Huge hugs to the cabbie for looking out for Poppy. Girl I know you are strong, smart and independent but Ares St does not look like the right place to be alone for a man or woman. I know Tora is going to coming running pissed as hell but still making sure she is alright 😘😘 love that cuddly angry bear. Also maybe a little sexy scolding is in order for our Poppy for not listening to his warning 😇😈. Oh and I could watch Tora workout for hours, damn that man is lovely to look at!

I think the cab driver texted Tora. And boy is he gonna be pissed when he realizes Poppy went without him! Then he will go to save her, give her a lecture about good girls going to sketchy neighborhoods ALONE, and then breathe a sigh of relief and then KISS her! And then they go back to her place and do naughty things to each other all night! 😁😏☺

First- Poppy showed GREAT cleverness, and the new outfit+hairpin I loved. That shot with Balthuman+Miracle was gorgeous. She's also playing with fire dropping Toras name...could backfire! My theory- I'm betting the taxi driver is texting his wife he can't come home bc he's worried about this girl. He seemed like a stand-up guy, so I'm betting he'll be there to help her. I doubt he'd text Tora (then risk the gangster hunting him down if his girlfriend got hurt). And since the club is a Balthuman club, I bet Tora is headed there soon anyway and bammo, some high, sexy drama!

I had to put this chapter down a number of times because I was actually screaming out loud!! ❤️ Especially the panel with three men across the way from Poppy and the Cabbie and one of them was blonde - I'm calling that it's Quincy 😍! I love how the characters and the story are developing and how this stands out as it's own work compared to the original MPL! Was it Tora that the cabbie texted? How is the next chapter going to unfold?? Poppy is showing such determination and low-key ferocity that I really think she's going to give Tora a run for his money. I may actually implode before next week 😆😆😆 Such an amazing job as always Lily!!!

Did a more careful reread this morning and can I just say every chapter is so full of information and plot reveal? Like I honestly do not understand how Lily produces such a high quality comic every single week!? First it felt so cinematic— the way her illustrations panned from above the car into it. The duel perspective of the cabbie sort of droning on about missing a game while Poppy is having her first exposure to Ares street and Tora’s world. Also how the cabby’s chatter ended up being important to the story later? I continue to love how sharp Poppy is and how quick thinking. I totally would’ve been ignoring the chatter from the driver 😆 but ol’ Bobby was listening and forming a plan!
