I knew it was gonna cut at the best part! 😄 That scene in the bar, where Tora gets violent with someone badmouthing/threatening Poppy, reminds me of a similar scene in Asura's Bride. When Ulaan gets back to his camp with Yuwa and pierce a guy's hand with his sword for badmouthing the princess from the south. So I guess it runs in the family. 😊 It's kinda heartbreaking to see Tora's turmoil at wanting to keep Poppy safe and out of his world, his darkness. She will be the one to break him, where Balthuman wasn't able to do so.

I think the kid from the grocery store was right in his perception of Tora: he's a nice, sweet man, but because of his job (and I'm also assuming his past), he needs to keep the tough guy routine up. First off, no worries Lily- we had every faith that the episode would load. So glad I stayed up for it because halle-fucking-lujah my favorite scene is just getting started! Loved the expansion of the flashback scene- it really points to some perceptions people have about Tora's relationship with Quincey. Very interesting that Tora didn't outright deny it, but also didn't confirm it. Very smart of him. And y'all knew I was gonna gush about this scene- Tora is so, so worried about her and yet he still can't help himself from smiling around her, touching her, and just wanting her company/comfort. And the backdrop in this scene was *chef's kiss*. So goddamn romantic. I cannot wait for the conclusion of this scene next week. Lily, you know how to tear at my heartstrings. Lastly, I'm just throwing it out there I'm glad we cleaned the slate on the discussion. All those comments would've detracted from our fun.

YEEEESSSS!!!!! I love how much he cares and worries for her. It's been 4-5 days and he's so entranced by her. When he looks at her, you can see he's already a goner. He hasn't held someone's hand before but he can't help reaching for hers, not just because he wants to but also because he subconsciously knows that she needs that contact in those moments. He saw her hand trembling on the balcony and how anxious she was at Quincey's and automatically reached for her. He has no idea what he's doing but even though we know he's self-conscious he doesn't care about that, he just wanted to give her something to hold onto so she felt safe, him. I want to know how the thug found out about her, he's only told Quincey and Gyu that we know of and if one of them blabbed, Tora's gonna be super pissed. I could see either one of them letting it slip to somebody thinking it's no big deal to tell this one person and then that person spreading around. Gyu said her secret was safe with him on the night of their dinner but then two days later Quincey mentioned Gyu saying he'd found her address days ago just before she showed up at the apartment.

I truly wish I had known about the story before it was featured. This is forcing patience on me week after week! I’m hooked. As a lot of you are mentioning, I’m very interested to see more about his upbringing. I’m sure the abuse he went through probably honed a lot of his aggression. I was saying to my boyfriend earlier how great the writing is to make us hooked to the characters. We learn just enough each ep to satisfy our curiosity, but there is enough left for falling deep into the universe of the story. And how abouth the amount of content every update, we get so much every week, it amaze me so much can be done in simply a week. I wish there was a tip button in webtoon to send a few extra support for the artist, I would defenitly donate a bit more.

I love that others have noticed his parking, the whole lot is empty and it's still terrible 😂. I think maybe someone noticed Tora and Poppy when they were leaving Alice's and he was pulling away from her/ visibly upset, it was close to the Black Swan bistro which I'm thinking might be a clan favorite or clan owned if Tora has a tab and Gyu works there. And shout out to Tora and Quincy's relationship, everyone else believes Tora to be gay, but the Quincy saw Poppy and knew that Tora would be on that 🍑.

Anyone else wondering why Poppy hasn’t tried to Google the Balthuman Organization? For that matter, they’re a crime organization and She works at a magazine, you’d think people would talk about them more, gossip and such. Why hasn’t she tried to find out about it? Some guy gives me his card with only a company name and his name, I’m gonna be looking it up to see what the company is, get an idea of what he does for a living.

Thank you so much for this episode, Lily! I loved it ♡ I adored getting another glimpse into Tora's mind. Sure, I am sucker for Tora's looks but what really makes me stay is his personality. I love seeing what makes him tick and analysing all these different layers - and there are many! I love, love, love the tender scenes because we get to experience him experiencing warmth and gentleness for the first time. And it's so satisfying and heartbreaking to see him stumbling his way through is emotions for Poppy. I would love to see a kiss or even better an intense cuddling session (I think Tora would need that even more than sex - though he would definitely not say no to that- me neither ^^) but in the meantime I am totally happy with all that adorable hand holding - and all the kudos to you for drawing hands so delicately and amazingly!!

Omg it was an amazing chapter!! I love how he looks at her, almost afraid of what he's feeling. When he says he needs to find the notebook and leave her life, it made me cry because he's genuinly scared for her. I hope she will become less naïve about him before "crossing the line" but still giving them some goosebumps. And yes, he needs to understand he' not only a mafia trained dog!!! I really can see Poppy helping him in this, if she becomes more aware of who he is :) Super cuties :)

Having some (perhaps too deep?) thoughts about this chapter. I'm the queen of seeing symboism where they may not be any okay? (Don't ask me about my thoughts on the cat in the tree bc I'll tell you!) 1) Tora's parking habit. I've known a couple people IRL who park like that (always in the back where there are spots so not total monsters) and the reason is bc they don't want anyone near their car to scuff it. For Tora, maybe its a little symbolic - he doesn't let anyone close, especially when he's near Poppy. 2) The entire balcony scene is warm/cold - Poppy's world / Tora's world. From the steamy bowl of soup she has to the coloring of her all red/warm colors. She steps out and mentions how the chill is nice out there. He transitions to warning her (about his life basically), and Poppy sticks to her denial/happy-thoughts personality by rejecting that reality. THEN after introducing her to the danger, he initates the handholding with "C'mere. You're standin' too close that railing. It's freaking me out." (She's too close to danger...danger he just brought up in conversation and by stepping out onto the cold balcony. EITHER I'M CRAZY OR LILY IS DOING ALL THIS ON PURPOSE!

As many of you have pointed out, I love all the contrasts between the two of them as they are in her apartment. In this episode, the one that sticks out to me is when his hands are on the dresser next to all of her girly, cute things. He’s so aggressive and tense, while she is so happy and a little fragile. On another note, the past two episodes, Poppy started to say something, but Tora’s intense gaze stopped her — what do you guys think she was going to say? Ep. 27: “Anyway, I should ...” — I took this as her trying to say, “I should start dinner.” But maybe you guys interpreted it differently? Ep. 28: “Aren’t you being a little too ...” — a little too serious? Silly? Intense? Too what poppy?!?! Love you guyyyyyys xo

I see Tora as demisexual . The gay thing is the typical macho thing or scorn lover. He must be gay because this or that. Candy throws herself at Tora and he's just not down for that. Then along comes Poppy... and that's it for Tora. He can't name what he feels but he knows she's it for him. I don't think we'll see any romance any time soon..... because for him the emotional part needs to progress first. Hm, I know some people are saying that he’s head over heels for her, but I don’t think he is in denial or smth like that... I think he doesn’t know the meaning of many feelings and behaviors in “normal” life. Like the hug, where Poppy was saying that “that was just a hug, like with family and friends” and he’s just agreeing so that the conversation stops, since he’s clearly uncomfortable with that topic (not his world, he doesn’t fully get it) Like the hand holding, he was not kidding about never holding a hand THAT WAY, I’m sure he already did it when he idk helped someone up (maybe?), but he’s showing another meaning to that hand holding he’s having with her... these are only my thoughts! seems special for him, seems comforting (for her too) What I’m trying to say is: since he’s never lived those feelings, he doesn’t know what/how they are yet. So, saying he’s in love is kind of rushed, since he does not even know what love is. I think it’s a progress, he’ll be understanding it little by little, there’ll be some denial, there’ll be a lot of fear and distancing, there’ll be a lot of backstory to fix him, to fix her (she got cheated on), to accept and change the setting they live in... MPL is muuuuch deeper than romance, it’s a truly conflicted story with lots of human real conflicts!!!

I love the complexity of Tora's character. On the outside, he is the rough, deadly weapon (I mean with the skills too. That guy is stealth af). However, on the inside he's still that innocent kid that helped the girl that scraped her knee. I don't know much about his relationship history, though it seems pretty nonexistent, but I think he's found someone he's fallen for and it freaks him out. On one hand, he wants to do all the normal "fall in love" things, it's natural. On the other hand, he knows the kind of life he's living and how dangerous it would be for her. He strikes me as the type that would hurt himself by staying away from her (but watching in the shadows), but Poppy strikes me as a person that wouldn't let him if he tried. I wouldn't put it passed her to go to Ares St looking for him. I wish I had started this Webtoon later. I absolutely HATE waiting! It's torture!

So I was re-reading...again 😂...and I noticed in Episode 19 when they were talking in the alley, there’s a blurry person standing at the window in the building across the street (I believe is the Black Swan place). The figure is chest level with Poppy in the panel where Tora asks about dinner at her place. I wonder if that’s Yadori watching them and that’s how he knew about the “girl problems”. That creepy smile he had after Tora hit him, he’s up to something. He’s gonna show up again at some point.

I was re-reading episode 27 and someone in the comments noticed that the window opens after they walk to the kitchen (the panel after he asks if she’s calling him a duck) 😰 I thought it was just the door to the kitchen but when you look closer you can see the dangling decorations on the wall beside the plant from the panel before, that’s definitely the window opening 🤭 and Tora didn’t notice anything in 28 so now I’m worried that there’s gonna be someone hiding in her apartment when Tora leaves 😰
