I have a confession: These Tora/Poppy heavy chapters have been feeding my girly soul, but I’ve secretly been antsy for a side story chapter and this update was just what I needed. Also, I’ve been impatient for more Gyu/Quincey screen time and I’d giddy now😆 I just know this chapter was full of a million details I missed, and can’t wait to see what you all figured out, but for now, here is what’s running through my little brain: 1. They have a group text 🚨 QUINCEY’S ANGELS. Why is this endearing AF? Why does this make me smile like a high school girl? So we have BB Tora- Booboo? Baby? I need to know…. Then YM Quincey. That’s gotta be “Young Master Quincey” then… OH wait. This is Gyu’s contacts, so BB must be Big Bro. Why does this make me want to cry? It’s just so cute. 2. So their usual group text dynamic is Quincey and Gyu chatting about nonsense and Tora ignoring everything but occasionally sending cryptic images? Sounds spot on 😂 Also… digestive tea talk at 10:30 pm. These two men are basically old grannies and I’m living for it. Also love that Quincey doesn’t even try to engage Tora anymore whereas Gyu still clings to the hope that Tora might actually text them something more substantial. Gyu is a little bean and I love him. Those determined “scrolls” and deep concentrated face is killing me right now. 3 Gyu’s panic calling Quincey also has me squealing like a little girl. He’s such a cute friend. Quincy has endured enough of Tora’s shit and beatings that he’s like “eh. He’s weird. I will never understand him. I’m okay with that. Let's talk about how regular you are and how we can improve on that.” Whereas Gyu is trying to Sherlock Holmes this cryptic texting pattern. 4. Strawberry girl?? Okay Imma need to do a reread. Did Quincey tell Gyu about the strawberry juice incident at the grocery store? He and Poppy obviously met at his apartment but was there any strawberry talk? I can’t remember… Or is this something from farther back in their youth?? A “mystery strawberry girl” that could also be Poppy?? I hate tin foiling but my mind is not going to let this go. Am I overthinking this? Someone HALP. 5. “Keeps his distance from women… pretty much the same as me.” Okay cryptic Gyu 🤔 Way to take a page outta Tora’s book. You can’t leave me hanging like that? Why?? Because it’s not safe in your line of work? How is Quincey responsible for their lack of dating opportunities?? TIN FOILERS HALP AGAIN. Also- Quincey’s puppy dog eyes as he says this. Kinda killing me here. 6. I feel both seen and attacked at the same time watching Quincey being a pampered princess and trying to console Gyu… I can’t pretend I have never been sitting in the bath with a face mask on munching on snacks (maybe not my eye cucumbers but …to each their own) while listening to someone else in a not so fortunate/privileged position. I am a bougie bitch and I feel both bad and yet… I like my tub 🤷🏼‍♀️ I make no excuses for that. If that makes me a Quincey, so be it! 7. Point 1: Awesome segue with the “Poppylain Wilkes”, Point 2: Gyu… you really are a regular Sherlock, Point 3: QUINCEY. MY MAN. You may have sculpted that body in an attempt to keep up with Tora’s not to gentle big-brotherly beatings, but damnnnnnnnn you are fineeee. Like… whoever has the pleasure to tap that is a lucky person. A little shocked by the tattoo, actually, but I want to trace it with my tongue and I’m not sorry 👅 8. Also: that fading of his arm tattoo in the water blew my mind. I don’t art, but I sure as heck can appreciate it. These little details are amazing. And he has 2 Balthuman Tattoos?? This is one of those chapters I’m going to go “OMG THAT’S WHAT THAT MEANT” down the road when everything clicks together. I can feel it. 9. I’m irrationally angry at Poppy’s cake getting snotted on. Like… that looks like a damn good cake. Not happy with the boys right now. Not one bit. 10. Whatever is missing from the box is tied to Quincey… right? Why else would she look from the box to his novel? Is it her hair pin? That would be the most logical option. Her realizing she's going to have to see Quincey again and therefor Tora. Damn it. I need all the tin foliers to aid me tonight. I like to analyze, not speculate. But there are so many hints in this chapter! And that circled “E”… is that just a logo or does that mean something? Grasping at straws again? 11. Yeah girl. You’re going to have to see Quincey and you’re not staying away from Tora. The plot forbids it. You are a slave to your creators whims. You’re just going to have to brush up on your awkward small talk and get the heck over it because you have a destiny and it involves a hot piece of mafia ass that can’t keep his hands off of you. Oh noooooo. 😏 12. Befuddled Fred is another favorite. This whole chapter is feeding my side-character loving soul. Why are all these old people so sassy and cute?? And Tora’s plot of both ditching women and advertising for his little “family” is giving me the warm fuzzies. Love that those shallow girls are at least using their social media influencer status to prop up Fred and Fran’s business… they have been redeemed at least a little in my eyes. 13. Tora’s deadpan protection mode is also doing things to me... Why is a man who cares so much so sexy? This man has a freaking heart of gold (sure, sure, it manifests in beating the shit outta people but… those are just inconsequential details…and they had it coming, scamming old people). 14. Fred taking care of Tora is also melting my heart. ❤️ HOW?? How does every new chapter manage to squeeze my heart like this? Idk if Fred is senile or if he just wants Tora to finish getting his HS degree but the fact he cares so much is killing me right now. “You’re a bright kid.” And “Uncle Freddy believes in ya.” OKAY ACTUALLY CRYING NOW. YES. YES HE IS SMART. He’s so smart and kind and loving and so LITTLE. That look on Tora’s face as Fred is saying all these things. He’s such a lil guy and I want to hug him and make him see himself through the eyes of his loved ones. Maybe not Quincey’s… but everyone else’s! 15. And here’s Tora again, forgetting Poppy’s manners lesson and not saying thank you. But he does say “I’ll get ya aprons fixed” which is basically the same thing here. KIJHIUYGFYTDYUVBK OMG I can’t handle this. 16. And again- smart kid. Nothing getting past Tora as he sees right past Fred’s deflection and immediately knows Alice is gambling again. AND PAYS HER DEBTS. I’ve melted completely at this point. THIS MAN. Why is he so perfect?? Why is he so sweet? Why is my heart in pain?? WHY DO I STILL WANT TO LICK HIS CALVES? God that tattoo… 17. Back to Poppy and her sneaky deflections… Erdene getting on her case? Point out funny new t-shirt (at the same time passive aggressively tell her to calm the F down 😏). Jacob catching on to your slipped in line about actually going out for once and being a Sherlock himself with his “le Greek god” observation? Distract them with some juicy dirt! Sneaky Pops. Get ‘em. 18. Dandy. LOL. Sparkly? More LOL. Dene and Jacob and their love of tea is so relatable. Gossip for me, bitches. I need to feel validated. 19. Gil. Sneaky sneaky sneaky. Whatchu doing boi? What am I missing? Are you hoping there is more where that black notebook came from? You found one gem within Poppy’s belongings, are you hoping to find the missing page Tora has? Do you just really like cherry themed notebooks and this is petty office theft? LOL no. But really. Gil you’s sketchy. I get you wanna save your publishing company but watch your back. Just sayin. This doesn’t seem like the wisest course of action. Anddddddd We have come to the end. This was a lot. I ended with so many more questions than answers and those are my favorite chapters. Because I know at some point (maybe tonight, reading everyone’s comments) everything is just going to click. And my mind will be blown and I will fall in love for the millionth time with Lilydusk’s world and wonderful characters ❤️

That's it!!! There goes my theory abouth why Tora like strawberies!!! Quincey say "maybe he hasn't gotten over strawberry girl". Like it is something abouth his past crush. What if that girl in the back of the van picture is Poppy as a kid, and Tora love strawberry because of his encounter with her as a kid? Because we do see her with a strawberry juice in the tree with her father, so it is something she liked as a kid. Maybe she gave him one as a thank you gift and it got to him, hence the strawberry fascination :3. I'm trying to be more optimistic of Gil... in an earlier episode he said he grabbed some documents off Poppy's desk and then gave them back... I'm hoping he noticed that he didn't give the right notebook back to her and he has THE NOTEBOOK without knowing he has it and is going to return it to her... which would explain why Tora and his team couldn't find it in her apt or the office, Gil had it by accident.

I’m slowly getting used to this separation between Tora and Poppy. Lillydusk has created a story that is this huge puzzle with so many intertwining plots and I’m happy to get new pieces to try and fit into the puzzle of my theories. It takes my mind off the whole separation thing and helps remind me that there’s so much more to this story than just the relationship between Tora and Poppy. Tora’s random messages 😂 poor Gyu is so confused. I love how much Gyu and Quincey seem to truly care about Tora that they chat with each other about his wellbeing. “Quincey’s Angels” I feel like that emphazies the value Quincey has toward of the friendship that he calls them his angels. In the chaotic violent world they live in, he considers them his saving grace. It also speaks to the way he sees them for the angels they are inside. Because they both really are angels at heart. I find it hilarious that Quincey’s just letting the random pictures go and Gyu is like “Tora, what the f*ck?!”😂 Gyu remembered his birthday but Quincey didn’t 🤔 there’s always that one fried who never remembers stuff like that 😂 Strawberry girl?! Now I am convinced that Poppy and Tora have met before! *grabs tin foil hat* I think Poppy was the girl in the Ares St Kingz photo. I think she fell out of the tree and got hurt. Tora went to help her and she somehow thanked him with strawberries or strawberry juice. After that, Tora had a crush on her but never saw her again and developed a love of strawberries because of it. What if that hair tie was from Poppy’s childhood? What if she was even wearing it when they met and now he has it? What if Poppy actually remembers him since she’d possibly recognize the tattoo and that’s why she was so comfortable being around him? 🤔 What reason do Gyu and Tora share for avoiding women? Because of the mafia life? Because of whatever Tora and Quincey has to do for Gyu? That image where Quincey’s mask falls off 🤣 he looks so much like Tora!!! She goes from seeing Quincey’s book to thinking back about the missing object in the box and then remembers she’s going to be dealing with Quincey which will throw off her plan to respect Tora’s decision. Something about that train of thought makes me think it was Tora’s business card that disappeared from the box. Freddy really is like Tora’s crazy uncle 😂 so Tora noticed the place was losing customers and gave out their number to get them more customers 😊 he’s such a sweetheart! And when he realizes they’re getting ripped off, he automatically steps up to help them out. Freddy’s encouragement toward Tora is so sweet. Sounds like he’s been telling Tora that for a long time and I think Freddy has as much to do with Tora still being a decent human being after the childhood he had as Granny Alice does. Them and Joe helped remind Tora of his worth and his potential growing up. “Don’t be nosy. It’s grown ups business.” 😂 I love how he gets twitchy and squeezes his arm all embarrassed and Tora just knows it’s about the gambling and asks how much Alice owes. I wonder how often he covers her debts 🤔 Reminded me of when he gave Poppy a bunch of money and Quincey’s without a second thought. He really has a heart of gold ☺️ The we’re talking about how their little company is trying to get off its feet but Gil just gave them three days off? 🤔 was it so he could look through the notebook? I think he did find it on Poppy’s desk. Poppy has the best shirts! 😂 Why doesn’t Poppy want Erdene to know about her date with Tora? 🤔 She already knows how they met and was encouraging Poppy to go for it, so why doesn’t Poppy want to tell her? Why is Gil so sketchy? He’s sketchy, right, I’m not the only one getting that? What does he want at Poppy’s desk? He looks like a total creep, how does Poppy not see how creepy he is?! I theorize that the group was created by Quincey (that wasn’t hard at all!). I love the intervention style conversation between Quincey and Gyu! Thank you for showing us Tora’s support people and their dynamic. Quincey knows more than Gyu about Poppy- I am thinking Tora confided in Quincey and told him about Poppy the night of the kiss, because that’s when she gave him the hair tie. Why not in Gyu though? Could it be because of his sister? Is his sister chasing after Tora? Another tinfoil theory- Quincey will invite Poppy to Tora’s birthday bash. Surprise!!!! - Fred and Fran. I love how Fred cares for Tora and assumes a father figure stance- teaches him self worth, and tells him he has a bright future ahead. Tora’s face though breaks my heart. I wonder who the mystery guy selling the wrong aprons is? Also, I love that we are slowly finding out more about his family...Alice is not his grandma, but what happened to his parents? My guess- Vincent is his father and his mom was an addict and overdosed- that would explain him wanting to stay away from drugs and alcohol. On the same note- should Poppy make him bigger portions? I've worked it out: Gil is a nosey bastard, so he is going to read Poppy's personal journal. From that he'll ascertain that Poppy has been hanging out with the Balthuman Mafia and he will mention that in the one of the Goldfish publications (because I remember Erdene mentioned in a previous episode that gossip on the Mafia is always a big seller/moneyspinner). In doing so, Poppy's shitty boss will cause her to be a target and this is where Tora comes in to protect her again. This one made me realize how much I like Gyu. He’s adorbs. While their business together might be awful that friendship is as sweet and pure as it gets. Seeing Quicey's tattoos in this episode have me really wondering about what expectations are placed on him as heir apparent to the Balthuman Clan... There is such a dichotomy between Vincent's violent tendencies and Quincey's more delicate/soft persona. Even in the episode where he has Tora clobber his corrupt publisher, you could obviously tell that ordering and watching that type of brutality is not something he likes nor is in his innate nature (see 🤢🤮). So... What is Vincent's plan for Young Master Quinceton? From flashbacks of him and Tora growing up, Vincent seems to lavishly spoil him. Is he still being groomed to become the clan boss by his father? I think the tattoos would suggest that this is the case... However, he seems to be able to largely be uninvolved in clan affairs for the time being. My heart broke when he states "I wish there was more I could do for you" to Gyu. I think all three have a strong bond as they grew up together, and this was only deepened by the inescapability of their current situation and ties to the clan. Having grown up surrounded by violence, constantly seeing Tora abused and others harmed, and realizing that his future will likely force him to become a man like his father is extremely sad. I wonder if his focus on writing and creating stories of love and romance are a form of escapism for him as well. After all, like Tora and Gyu, would Quincey really want to bring someone who he loved into this world of darkness as well? 💔😭💔 Interested to see where you start taking his character development and story, Lily. ♥️

Well I think we have confirmation that Quincy is interested in women, when he says to Gyu he and Tora keep their distance from women for the same reason. However I still think he may be a bisexual. When Quincy met Poppy and unknowingly opened the door thinking it was his date he was looking to see someone eye level with him and Quincy looks as tall as Tora. Why do I feel like people are reading into the Strawberry girl reference too much. Remember that poppy gave Tora the strawberry hair tie?! I think that’s how she got her nickname. I doubt that the notebook is on her desk. The cover was black and there is no black covered notebook there. Gil is super super sketchy. He told Poppy that he grabbed some documents on her desk and she responded that it is fortunate that she sorted it out. If he had the notebook he wouldn't be walking around her desk like a vulture in my opinion. He would already be making gold out of it. Maybe he saw it and she removed it before he could get his hand on it.

I have been wondering how close Tora and Quincey are. When Tora and Gyu are together, like in the locker room and in the truck, it seems like Tora can be open with him. When Tora was in the parking garage with Quincey, I felt like Tora was revealing that they had a close relationship, but not in the same way. My thoughts have been, does Tora hang around (tolerate) Quincey because he's non threatening and a safe person in his unsafe world, or is there more of a deep brotherhood type friendship there? So... Late night rambling aside, I'm glad we saw this side of the Quincey/Tora friendship tonight in the group chat section. Tora trusts both of them enough to share his random pictures of joy, and Quincey knows about Tora's old crush. :: Tin foil hat time:: The line about no relationships. This may be a reach, we know Vincent isn't Tora's dad, but what if Vincent decided he liked the woman of one of his closest bodyguards/hitman. Maybe Tora is Quincey's older half-brother through their mother? It would explain why Tora could live with the Balthumans, Vincent being an abusive stepfather, trying to raise his stepson to be better than his father. Quincey's tattoo. I think he was shielded from clan life, why should Vincent let his son get his hands dirty, they pay people for that, type of thing. But in the pantsing flashback and the Ares Street kingz photo, is seems like Quincey wants to tag along and play gangster too. Maybe to feel like he's fitting in? I can see that Vincent would want him tattooed since he's the boss's son, but also it's hidden because he doesn't see Quincey as expendable like the rest of the clan. Having a brand on his neck would make him an easy target for rival gangs. Missing item from Poppy's box, I'm on team Tora's business card, at least for this week I am. Tora's still hungry after being out all night with Poppy. He's got a soft spot for shorties. Alice, Poppy and now Freddie, big boi can't stand to see them upset. Who will be selling the aprons? I'm hoping it's the asshole who ripped off his mom and sold the disc to the police. Gil... I'm of two minds with him. First, I think Lily's trying to fake us out and next episode he's going to be doing something like hiding a birthday gift for Poppy on her desk. Or... He's a bad, bad dude. Tinfoil Time: So I’ve been kicking over ideas for a while now.....and, I’ve just been trying to “connect the dots.” So I keep going back to that picture of the young Ares Street Kings. We know for sure Tora, Goliath and Quincey are in that photo. Then there’s that kid in the van. I wanted to say it was Scharch. But the more I’m staring at it, I’m wondering if that’s Gil. I know this is a long shot. But the neckline the kid’s shirt has is the same as adult Gil and what he wears the first time we see him. Now I do have a sort of running theory that Scharch and Gil might be related somehow, just like I’m pretty sure Tora and Goliath are.....but hear me out. The “you gotta come save me. They’re gonna f*ckin kill me if you don’t come” message to Tora from Goliath. Who is “they?” Could it be Scharch and Gil? If they’re related. I mean, remember, Gil was out of town for a few days, and so was Scharch. Maybe one of them or both? Honestly, I don’t have any answers there. But Gil has the notebook, of that I’m pretty sure, and if they are working together..... Well, why? Could it be Scharch just wants to start a war because he just loves blood shed that much? Could Gil just want the information to get rich quick? Something more sinister? And where is Goliath? Wanna know my crazy theories? Here we go.....I have two. Goliath is still in Moon Bright. He was there as a kid and knows the area enough and he’s been in the woods before as a kid. Maybe he has a place to hide there? Two, and this is a big one.....he’s hiding in Poppy’s apartment building. Maybe under a assumed name? It’s a big building on the outskirts of town. There’s that one truck in the parking lot that hasn’t moved a lot.... But back to that photo. “Strawberry Girl.” Quincey mentions a girl Tora liked. Maybe he’s talking about the girl in the photo we see Tora helping up? We see young Poppy drinking strawberry juice. I’m willing to bet that that girl is Poppy and she’s the reason he likes strawberry juice....Tora and Poppy met when they were younger. Anyway, I’m still wrapping my head around a few things, so maybe this will all look stupid AF in the harsh light of morning, but there we go. Also......how bad is Gyu’s bowel movements that Quincey is trying to get him to get special tea? I’m a bit concerned for him.

Still catching up with everyone's comments but there's a theory me and the girls were discussing in a Discord server that I don't think was mentioned yet, so here it goes... ***TIN FOILS UP?*** What if the whole apron mixup scam wasn't just a rando trying to take advantage of old Fred? 🤔 It could be just a scene to show, once more, how Tora is kind and protective of those around him? Yes. But WHAT IF: 1️⃣the guy selling him the leftover aprons is that thug who found Goliath's things and got some cash out of selling info (perhaps opened that rival business with it?) that way Tora ends up finding more info on Goliath's whereabouts OR BETTER YET 2️⃣ it's all Goliath's plan! He knows enough about Tora's life to know he hangs out there at Fred's. He can't just simply show up and say "hey! I'm alive🕺", but he knows that if something somewhat inconspicuous was to happen to Fred, Tora would jump at the chance to help him out... And it's not like Fred is that connected to him like Alice, for instance, so it's less suspicious... And aso, Fred is very senile what makes deceiving him easier and also no one would really take his word if he was to say it was "that blue-haired boy that goes to school with you" or something like that. They'd think he's just having a senile moment. It might actually be a plan to get to Tora without anyone finding out about it... We were shown Goliath is a poker player, an strategist, it could make sense if he was behind that.

I think I, personally, got so caught up in the drama of everything that I didn’t consider the chance that they’d have something so normal as a group chat. Someone is leaking information to the police via video recordings. Specifically, that person is working directly with Officer Lane. Poppy takes the stuff out of her bag – notebook included – and organizes them. She has a big ass yellow bag where she could have put the notebook in (Ch 21) 25. Are there any theories floating around as to how Quincey knows that Poppy is Tora's type? Previous love interests? Has Quincey witnessed Tora ogling or showing interest in someone or more than one Poppy-esque girl, so know that he has a type? I'm so curious. And then the mention of a strawberry girl makes me think there was someone. I don't think Q is referring to Poppy as strawberry girl, as he doesn't know that they've just separated. Questions. So many questions...

My two cents on strawberry girl. I think Quincy could be referring to Poppy. The night that he meets Poppy he was surprised that Tora reached out to hold her hand. He could have questioned Tora about it later, to which Tora could have told him that he ended up spraying strawberry juice all over Poppy’s hair after she hugged him. And Tora wouldn’t necessarily want that going around cause it’s, you know, embarrassing. That’s what I’m think at least 🤗

-Loved that we got to see some interaction with Gyu and Quincey. I knew they knew each other and that Quincey saved Gyu’s life, but those 3 must be close to have an ongoing group chat together with Tora. Gyu acknowledging that him and Tora don’t want to be involved with women for their safety, goes to show you the kind of people they are. The name “Quincey’s Angels” was really cute, and enjoyed that bit about Quincey eating the cucumbers he used on his eyes, haha. -Tora’s birthday! i bet Quincey is gonna organize a little get together and invite Poppy and Tora, without them knowing? A date with Poppy would be a nice birthday gift for him. -Strawberry girl - my guess is Quincey is referring to Tora spitting out the strawberry juice on Poppy. Quincey probably asked about what happened after he saw Tora holding Poppy’s hands and took Poppy home. I do think Poppy is the girl from Tora’s past in the photo, but think it was a one time incident and probably didn’t leave a lasting romantic impression on him, other than he got a strawberry juice box and liked it, so he drinks strawberry juice as an adult? If we’re going by age, Tora at the time was a lot older than Poppy (5ish years older?) so why would he be interested romantically in a girl so young — that age gap is a lot bigger when you’re teenagers, versus in their 20s. -The sneezing was cute. What was in that box that’s now missing? I also like that Poppy acknowledged the danger of being associated with Tora, and that she wanted to be respectful of Tora’s wishes… We know based on how Poppy went after Mr. Lam that she’s stubborn, and if she puts her mind to something, she won’t stop. She’s been respectful of Tora’s clearly drawn boundaries regarding his mafia life so far. -Fred/Frank - I wouldn’t have even known it was a different name because of how long ago that sausage chapter was. Can that punk who sold the aprons be Julri? since he’s such trash. Would love to see Tora having a talk with him about how he mistreats people he loves. haha… then realize this guy was the ex-boyfriend. -The old man was super sweet to Tora and I’m glad we got to see Tora’s outer circle… People who aren’t family by blood, but have shown Tora love growing up. This helps explain why Tora isn’t a complete monster, and is a human capable of loving, despite how he was abused and raised by Vincent. -“Don’t be nosy. It’s grown up’s business” Is it me or I wonder if Fred and the old lady are involved in something with the mafia or shady? Or maybe he’s referring to gambling, and he still thinks Tora is too young to be exposed to that. -Gil is acting suspicious. Hmm. Assuming he took the notebook, t’s like he’s looking to see what else is on Poppy’s desk? I would love for Poppy to still have the notebook, and use it to save Tora or to her advantage, later on. Maybe this whole publishing company is a fake… for shady business.

I am very intrigued by Tora’s family and their absence. I am still going through the discussions from other episodes, so I may have missed important details over Tora’s relationships with Alice and Vincent, but hear out my Theory B, a backup theory in case Vincent is not Tora’s father (Theory A). In theory B, Alice is connected to his biological family. We know that Alice cared for him as a child/ teenager through the flashbacks: Joe was close to Tora, Alice is seen worrying for his safety and well-being, and very lovingly commenting’ there you go giving your heart away, child’. Perhaps Tora is given to her (maybe parents passed away?) to care for him either as a distant relative or as a family friend/godmother. Alice took him in, which is how his involvement with Vincent started. I also think one or both of his parents may have been part of the clan, maybe friends/high rank, or someone whom Vincent owed his life to? I still think someone close to Tora had substance abuse issues, hence why he doesn’t drink and do drugs. I’d love to hear other ideas :)

I can't remember Poppy's exact birthday but it's Feb-March and somewhere up above^^ Lily confirmed that Tora's upcoming birthday is March 30, but it's summer in Narin City. So I'm guessing it's in the southern hemisphere? Not that it's a big deal, but my brain likes to hyperfocus on random details like this.

So I’ve been seeing the theory of what’s missing from Poppy’s box is her hair pin, and then I remembered that I found the pin to have a resemblance to the Balthuman crest...for some reason I feel like that pin belonged to Poppy’s mother and maybe it looks the way it does because she was/is part of a clan like a lot of people are thinking as well 👀🤔💭

Im sure many have theorized that Poppy is the lil girl in the ARES STREET KINGZ pic. In Ep 30, when Poppy is having a flashbacks of her dad and they are up in the tree, they see a white van similar to the KINGZ van and they are referred as non-local. Also, poppy is drinking STRAWBERRY JUICE!!!! Maybe this is where Tora and Poppy really first met for the first time 🤔

Alright, reading some of the comments on theories, I decided to stop agreeing/disagreeing in replies and just start my own. This is what I got. 1. The theory that Tora and Poppy's mom had a fling... ew? Tora is only a couple of years older than Poppy, so they did it when he was a child? Gross. No. 2. My theory is, Tora's mom was a sex worker/ perhaps drug addict, and she sold Tora to the Balthuman org. Tora was chosen out of a bunch of other kids to be Vincent's minion. I believe Vincent did this because he saw early on that Quincey was not hard enough to rise up to Vincent's level, like when Vincent told Tora he picked him because of his dark demeanor. This would explain Tora's aversion to drugs and alcohol, especially if he spent his first few years with his mom and experienced neglect/abuse (before the abuse from Vincent came in). 3. This other theory of mine is a super long shot but... I BELIEVE that Tora is some kind of informant for Det. Lane. I know, I know. But it is just a got feeling I have. Lane had his contact info, and called him at the restaurant after Poppy stopped by to write the report. When Tora saw that Poppy had a connection to Lane, he got out immediately so that he would not sacrifice his cover, fortunately Poppy explained the situation to him. Tora is obviously doing stuff to create a clan war, including fucking up his own clan's businesses, but I believe it all boils down to Tora is actually working to take Vincent down. Many people might disagree with me on this, but people who work as informants inside of large gangs can work for YEARS to take it down, and have to completely immerse themselves in it, committing all kinds of crimes and such to get to the end point: taking down Vincent. I think this is (apart from being traumatized and emotionally distant) a large part of why Tora does not get involved in romance, with anyone, even Poppy (other than to protect her innocence). 4. Also, I NEED to know more about the relationship Quincey has with Vincent. How did Quincey grow up? Was he abused, maybe not as bad as Tora, but did Vincent try to "toughen" him up, and when he saw it would not work, gave up and went to Tora? Does Quincey know how Tora was brought up? It is hinted in the car scene earlier that Gyu is not fully aware of Tora's involvement in the clan, or how he was brought up. Does Quincey know about what Tora went through at the hands of his father, and if he does, does he harbor guilt because he thinks it is partially his fault? 5. (I think?) I mentioned this in an earlier episode's comic, but I believe that Poppy will get involved with the clan/mafia stuff. When Tora took her to the scenic spot, he told her the urban legend that everyone who goes there ends up becoming a gangster. I believe this is a foreshadow to the future, perhaps something Poppy has to do for Quincey to get him on their publishing team. Also, as an Editor-in-Chief for a literary magazine and staff writer, it makes me happy to see a book/magazine publishing that is realistic to the real thing: small time, lower pay. So often I see publishing companies and editors as like, these fancy people in expensive buildings with high pay like, no. That is not how it works, at all. I love reading this, and I love writing. I wish I had any kind of visual artistic skill where I could do comic but alas, no. Any art I do just comes out what I call "abstract" and "avant garde". AKA bad.

I was wondering how Poppy and Tora were going to see each other again, but it's clever. I was thinking originally that he wasn't going to have the fortitude to stay away, but she's going to work with Quincy because of Dr. Lam. Tora sticks to Quincy like glue. Fate intervenes. It's all quite smart. Also I do think maybe Tora didn't tell Quincy or the other guy that much about Poppy, but it probably did come up at some point, especially when he came back with a plastic strawberry in his hair. I think, perhaps, what we're forgetting is that Poppy met Quincy before, and Tora was there at the time. Quincy had been surprised that he and Poppy seemed to know each other and be comfortable with each other. I'd imagine Quincy probably had Tora explain that, and put two and two together.

My theory is on Gil. We all know what that last panel means, considering he did take some of Poppy's notes without asking her cause "his the boss" some time ago; and his eyeing on her work notes again. At first I thought without even considering, his working undercover and found Goliath's notebook. But after re reading couple of more times, his pulling a Mr. Morrison. Gil wants to take credit for Poppy's hard work on her proposal for Mr. Lam. And the reason that Gil hired Poppy in the first place is because his taking advantage of Poppy's determination for his own gain.
