I love how he's upset that poppy is there because he was trying to keep Poppy out of his world and with her being involved with Quincey contractually, it would expose her to that world again in spite of her. I mean, for sure daddy-o will hear about him signing up with the company and about poppy and it literally undermines all of Tora's efforts to keep Poppy a secret from Vincent. And he won't be able to do anything about it or at least it will be hard as fuck to handle... So I think that with him admitting he's in the mafia, he is maybe hoping to scare her away from him and Quincey for good.

Weirdly enough, this went about as well as I expected it to. But I wasn’t expecting the T-Rex shirt, nor was I expecting him to be so defensive about said T-Rex shirt. Also, damn Tora. Just say it right out in the open, huh? I guess we can’t get him for being dishonest on this one. This episode has so much! I immediately was laughing with it starting off with Tora scaring Poppy half to death by blowing his nose. Quincey though, that scheming, good-intentioned Quincess. Bless his heart. He might just die in the next episode. Him signing the contract and then reading it over at the dinner table was another lol moment for me. Cordelia is queen. All hail. My poor Poppylan! She’s still so feisty and giving Tora allllllll the shit for being an asshole, but those tears! *sniffle* Which leads me to Tora. They’ve both gotta be hurting. They like each other, are attracted to each other, and only just recently said their goodbyes. That wound hasn’t yet healed, and now they’re thrust together with Quincey’s sneak attack. They’re both so emotionally vulnerable. Tora reminded me of a wounded animal in this episode. Lashing out from fear (and a man flu). But rather it being fear for his own preservation, he is absolutely terrified for Poppy. I think he intentionally hurts her as much as he can in this episode - trying to push her even further away from him and toward safety. Ugh. Just ugh. Lily, thank you for this episode. It was beautiful and hilarious and heartbreaking. I absolutely loved it.

I absolutely squealed the ENTIRE time. Like a teenage girl. Who am I? I am no longer a grown woman, that’s for damn sure. I’m sorry… I have another long one here… 1. Tora, my man. I feel your pain. I blow my nose like a foghorn and I’m Poppy’s size, so at least your nose fits your stature! But really, the manflu? I’d normally want to cuddle and care the shit outta you, but no should be forced to deal with a manflu patient. Sick men are worse than babies and you are no exception, huh? 2 T-Rex shirt! Okay, so back in chapter 5, where baby Tora is in the cell, I noticed he had on a shirt with a little T-rex listening to music that says “Be Cool”. 😭 Like so many of us, I’ve dissected every part of that episode because it was such a pivotal chapter in understanding Tora and Vincent’s relationship, but after trying to overanalyze everything I decided that shirt was just that- a cute shirt. And while the T-Rex is King of the dinosaurs (Ulaan, your royal heritage isn’t forgotten👑) I think Tora wearing this shirt is a great way of showing just how much we regress when we aren’t feeling well. Maybe, feeling sick and out of his element, he unconsciously goes back to what made him feel better as a child. Andddd right now I’m ready to say f**k it to the manflu and cuddle the shit outta him anyway. 3. OKAY. Okayokayokay, Now I’m 100% ready to cuddle. Manflu does Tora gooooooooood. I mean WHAT?? I know those are dark circles under his eyes, but….DAMN 🔥 Maybe it’s the whole absence makes the heart grow fonder thing…but come on. 2 weeks without him can’t have caused this? Idk if Lily did this on purpose as some kind of benevolent act on her part? A gift of thirst after breaking our hearts a few chapters ago, but GOD he looks sexy and I can’t handle it. 4. Homeboy mad. Sick and cranky and sexy and MAD. Full-name-using, rude-finger-pointing, long-sideways-panel MAD. 5. Even better? Homegirl mad! Sexy, dolled up, ready to impress and wow everyone with her smarts, and she gets bulldozed like the little flower she is. And her adorable anger and attempts to be heard have me squealing with delight. I LOVE HER. YELL. SCREAM! Make yourself heard by this bullheaded sexy man baby! Like… he actually corrects her to the specific type of dinosaur on his shirt. DEAD. You can’t win against that stubbornness baby girl, although your stubborn nature is just as strong. 6. Okay but really… I get it. Tora is scared. And Ill-equipped to deal with this curveball while he’s feeling under the weather. He wouldn’t be happy either way seeing Poppy align herself with Quincey. The son of his Mafia Lord boss. He’s trying so hard to keep her out of his world and she just keeps popping back into it. And gets deeper and deeper every time. Add the cold? He’s not going to be able to act civil. 7. Now Poppy is crying and honestly? I’m ready to shove a snickers down Tora’s throat and tell him to get his sick ass back in bed. Those canines might be sexy but dude, don’t f*cking snarl at her unless you’re ready to follow that up with some sexy R rated action. She worked so hard and I’m all here for Cordy being the knight in shining armor. Because I get your frustration Tora, but back it up boy. Take some notes, because Cordelia is winning this thirst round. 8. Andddd lady boner alert. As if sick Tora wasn’t enough? We’ve got Cordelia coming in strong with her death glare and gallantry. Protect the shorty at all costs. Don’t fall for the sexy bedhead and asshole demeanor (not likely… homeboy isn’t her type *pan to soft boi in animal print*) 9. KJBHYVYTCYBLOKNLKNL BAHAHHAHAHAHAHA Even sick, pissed off, and confronted with another predator, Tora can’t help himself with the sexual innuendoes. I can’t. I’m an immature woman and I don’t care. Dick jokes will ALWAYS be funny. 10. Quincey the matchmaker. Our boy really needs some Shing Ma help, because he should not be left alone to handle his own finances. He just signs the contract to help his friend get laid?? Doesn’t even look at the contract (pinky up). Every financial advisors nightmare. But keep doing it. These death glares are just… 11. Quincey and Tora. These boys are my favorite. So much complicated brotherly love I can’t help but squeal. They know each other so well… And that smug little smile as Quincey surveys Tora? These two are bothers. I don’t care what their actual relation is. These two are family and I will die to protect their relationship. Quincey gets him. And yes. He nasty. But look in the mirror, buddy. 12. I love Quincey’s “selfless” behavior of not getting Cordy’s full attention. Like that’s what he considers a sacrifice. And the added bonus of both Quincey and Cordy calling Tora a prick? Soul mate material right there. And… wait. I just scrolled back up to her full body shots. Doesn’t Cordelia look like a pirate in this outfit?? Yeah. Made👏 for 👏 each 👏 other 👏…Okay AND their silent communication? Sorry I just keep noticing more and more. IDK what she meant by “this asshole?” But she’s been tasked with something by Quincey and every second I am loving their relationship more. I smell intrigue! 13. Art. Yes, that is a big part of this story I too often overlook. As Tora stares at Poppy, she’s glowing, and he has zero backlight. The use of light, and other artist symbolism, often eludes me because I’m so wrapped up in the story, but this was so beautiful I couldn’t miss it. 14. I’m a sucker for modesty. And Poppy is the queen of downplaying her abilities and I love her for it. And I love Cordelia even more for noticing her and respecting her ability! She sees Poppy’s goodness and capability and I CAN’T THINK ANYMORE SHE CARESSED POPPY’S HAIR. Woof. Yup. I’ve got another crush. Halp. Sorry Tora. I know this must suck for you. Eat your food and be jelly. I’m loving this. 15. Poppy’s openness with her lady crush makes me giddy. She is so easy and artless and there is so much chemistry between her and Cordelia. Cody loves the attention and Poppy is happy to give it, and Tora is this adorable little bundle of dark energy that I am eating up. Shine my beautiful webtoon crushes. Shine and make our sick boy snap. 16. OKAY. Worried Poppy is so cute. Cordy is stirring the pot and Poppy, trying to do damage control before the already short tempered Tora snaps, is thwarted. What’s your angle Cordy, dear? Why are you poking the tiger? What do you hope to achieve? And Quincey get your head out of your ass! I love that self-absorbed angel but dude pay attention… but really don’t… I’m loving this comic relief bean. But really, I’m even more in love with Poppy here. Tora has been an ass, and yet she knows this is a touchy subject, and weather she doesn’t want Tora to be uncomfortable or she’s just not sure she’s ready to face it herself, she tries to defuse the situation and… 17. DUDE what? Is this the start of a bad joke or did ya lose your goddamn mind? Either way? Ya look sexy and I’m not mad. Stabby stabby. Don’t care. This whole chapter was a thirst marathon and I’m not so very happy and so not okay. Another favorite episode? I don’t even know anymore. They all are. I’m just going to have to accept that.

Oh my! Another emotional roller coaster:) Lily, you exquisite writer, how you manage to play with my heart. Love how you closed all those arcs in the past couple of episodes to introduce new stories and characters in this one. Poor Tiger - jealous, in love and worried. And with a cold...What a bad combo! He knows any love interest is a vulnerability for himself, and a danger for the other person. He's doing everything he can to block out his emotions for Poppy because of the risk it would take to be with her. I hope that she sees through this hardened exterior, and she shows him the love he needs and deserves.

Like…..all of his worst personality traits, all of his shitty coping mechanisms, all of his damage….he basically just unloaded all of it onto Poppy, with no warning, no context, and no time for Pops to prep or brace herself. And Poppy is finally trusting her gut, relying on her backbone, and we know she’s tough as nails: no way in hell does she take this nonsense from Tora lying down. Look, I get that Tora is EXTRAORDINARILY vulnerable right now, I do, and my heart breaks for him. We all agree he’s an abused teddy bear forced into violence that is antithetical to his true self, but Poppy has none of this context: all she’s got is a super-charming, vaguely dangerous, hot bad-boy who’s barged into what she assumed was a private business meeting – one she’s busted her butt to land, and prepared for to the NINES – acting like a sullen rejected bad date. I mean: - he name-calls her about her short physical appearance, which we already know she’s self conscious about and SO DOES HE - he touches her stuff when SHE TELLS HIM NOT TO - he! Yells! At! Her! With! No! Explanation! - HELLO TENDENCY TO PHYSICAL AGGRESSION - Oh, lets’ just talk about Poppy like she’s not here - HI THERE INABILITY TO CONFRONT FEELINGS - NICE TO MEET YOU SILENT POUTING. - Swearing and belligerent to people WHO ARE STANDING UP FOR POPPY???? My man, what the fuck???? And that is BEFORE he, fully, blatantly – using the admission more yet one more painful jab than anything else – admits to being a gun-for-hire and working FOR THE MAFIA. So here’s the thing: that is a LOT of ugly for one person to absorb in the span of thirty minutes. I don’t care how perceptive and compassionate a person you are: that’s more venom than you can or should absorb and write off as “just a bad day”. Not to mention, Julri’s incredibly awful behavior is still really, really close for Poppy, so Tora’s vitriol and strongarming and speaking-for-Poppy is going to hit especially close to home for Pops, and really deepen the pain of this whole bewildering experience for her. The next 5 minutes are going to be a litmus test for Tora and Poppy, because they’re both on emotional hair-triggers and have incredibly strong emotional capacities; they could easily flash over into pure anger at one another. We know both of them have incredibly deep wells of openness and compassion, but neither of them are in a headspace that inclines them to use it. But, the tension is now beyond the ability of Quincey or Cordelia to defuse – only Tora and Poppy, together, vulnerably, and openly, are going to be able to get themselves out of this mess. Tora has to be willing to let Poppy into his world, and Poppy has to be willing to step over that threshold. That’s a HUGE ask for both of them. Ok, I am not too happy with Tora being this mean to Poppylan even if he has good reason. Also, I think this is the first time he’s called her by her actual full name kind of like a mom calling a kid by all three names when they are in trouble. I love how protective Cordy is right away. On another side note my theory is holding of Tora just being possessive period, I don’t think he’s too happy with how friendly Cordy is being with Poppy. I know the sickness is playing a factor but his anger is not coming off with homicidal fear factor he normally exudes but a lot more sad. Poppy is tearing up with frustration and he looks near tears in a few panels. I wish he would have dropped the anger and given Poppy a hug instead. Welcome back, dear Lily 🥰✨ This episode was hard to swallow for me (and for Tora) 🥵 Seeing his deadly serious and moody state makes me shrug with angst, he’s had a rough life and is still having rough decisions to make til now, I just hope he gets a vacation from it all (like Lily did hahah) 🌴 I mean, there’s never been one day without problems for him throughout the series AND he’s been sick for quite a while, but that night out with Poppy just fucked it all, healthwise. I love him with Poppy, but this stress... ngl, I hate seeing stress cause I’ve been there, and his situation just adds fuel to the fire. But not that it triggers me or anything, I just feel sad and empathetic, he needs a break or else he’ll lose control of his mental state 🤭 Hopefully, Poppy will ease his burdens a little, being the sunshine she is ✨ Quincey is also trying to help and bring him happiness, that’s absolutely adorable. She obviously knows he’s involved with some shady business and she’s quite accepted that his distance was the best for them. Well Tora tried to keep Poppy safe and I think his final solution is that he tell her that him and Quincey are on the mafia. Poppy probably realise this, but her strong sense of justice will tells her that hence the mafia, they are good people and she doesn't vare. Tora have to face it, that this hamster is into her. I mean, it is time soon to reach a point where their feelings emerge. There will be still a conflict with the notebook and all, but they have to face their feelings and take action soon. Cordy is “normal.” As far as we can tell. We already heard what Tora thinks of himself and I’m sure it’s upsetting to know you can’t ever be that. He’d rather be a normal guy, because then he could easily have a life with Poppy. But to throw that “I’m in the Mafia” out there like that.....it just seems like it’s a big ol’ mess of pain/jealously/anger being shown. And he’s not feeling good and his friend seems to be brushing aside those feelings because he wants to play Matchmaker. I’m not blaming Quincey, but he absolutely put Tora in a bad spot. Not to mention Poppy is now annoyed with him, and he knows now that Quincey signed a contract with her she’s going to be around him anyway, and she will be in harm’s way, or he’s going to have to be a rude ass jerk to keep her away from him. Because you KNOW Poppy is gonna DIG because that’s what she DOES. She looks for details and clues into what makes people tick, just like she did with Lam. And she doesn’t give up. Tora’s stress level just got ratcheted up like 37 levels. Add on to this, what do you guys think Gil is going to do? Let’s say Clown Shoes Mc Shady Pants (GIL) has the notebook (HE TOTALLY DOES.) and he’s read it. (HE HAS) what is this going to look like? Poppy is a unknown factor. Is she in a rival clan? Does she have mafia connections? Is that how she got Quincey to sign so easily? What if that alone puts a big target on her head? There’s a LOT to unpack here, and frankly, I just.....need to breathe I guess. Also, I desperately want Tora to do something dumb like try yelling at Poppy and have her freeze and not move. Tora: “wtf?” Poppy: “no. You’re a T-Rex. You can’t see me. Your vision is based on movement.” Tora: “that’s not how this works!” Poppy: “shhhh. T-rex’s aren’t that smart. Can I just say, I personally don’t like Cordy (at least for now, that might change). I’m all for bad boss bitches, but she’s actually just kind of a bitch. I'm pissed at Quincey. Yes, for plot reasons and bring them together! it's great - and yes, his cluelessness is hilarious. But... is he really THAT clueless to think that Tora having a romantic attachment is somehow a good idea??! How much does Quince actually understand about the abuse that Tora suffered at Vincent's hands? This episode has my head spinning...one one hand I’m thinking “Tora looks 🥵” on the other I’m thinking “Tora’s being such a douche rocket!” I get that he’s feeling like crap and not happy about Poppy being there but he knows what she went through with the ex and, yes they weren’t dating so it’s not quite the same, but he’s treating her poorly just like Julri did (not the same way but poorly just the same). I’m wondering about the manflu/cold. You know how not sleeping enough or eating right can weaken the immune system and make it harder for the body to fight illness. What if Tora got sick because he’s having trouble sleeping and he’s been eating junk food that reminds him of Poppy? 🤔 just a thought on the food but I really think the sleep part could be true. I’m very annoyed with Cordy about the job question to Tora. Somehow the way she asks the question is almost mocking and I don’t like it. Someone else mentioned how Tora probably is extra sensitive to the fact that everyone at the table has these respectable jobs and he doesn’t. I feel like Cordy knows that (even if she doesn’t know exactly what he does) and is rubbing it in his face a little. She clearly doesn’t know him as Quincey’s bodyguard so how long has this relationship been going on with Quincey? If they’ve been seeing each other off and on for a long time, you’d think she’d have met him or heard about him before. The part where Cordy asks “This asshole?” I can’t tell if she knew had heard of Tora as the “asshole” who’s always picking on Quincey or if she was clarifying that “this asshole” is the one they were trying to set up with Poppy.

This episode was rich, relatable, and intense. I love the way you tell a story, Lily. I completely understand everyone’s point of views. Quincey just wants to help. Poppy wants to do well at work. And then there’s Cordelia and Tora 🤦🏽‍♀️ First let me just say Cordelia snatching that proposal from Tora and stepping between him and Poppy... 💦💦🌊 As cute as it was that Poppy tried to rescue Tora with that “what do you do” question, I was happier Cordelia made Tora speak up for himself in the middle of his mantrum. I don’t think he’s really mad. He’s afraid. He’s desperately trying to push Poppy off this ship and on to a lifeboat and no one else is cooperating. Still he mishandled this from start to finish. He acted about the age he looked in that T-Rex sweater. That being said this side of Tora was hella sexy. I had flashbacks of another sick Tora who needed some bath time 🤤

For the first time I experienced the dissaperience of my whole analysis on an episode. This is so annoying. Patreon sucks on this point. I now feel all of you who experienced it.. I took so much time writting it! people are saying it anyway. I will just said again one thing. And it is that even if I don't approve at all Tora attitude toward Poppy, I am not sad for her. She is certainly not a victim here, she is proactive in putting herself in danger and people have to look after her all the time. And when she is scolded she is the poor girl. not buying it. She knows he is in a dangerous organisation, Quincey is his boss' son. like no way she hasn't made a connection here. She even said that it will not be good to run into him. YET the girl continue to act recklessly for this contract of her, just like the ares street incident. pretending to respect Tora's boundaries while acting behind his back. Also knowing he changed his outfit for their first date so she will not feel unconfortable, and seeing how she pinpoints his t-rex sweat, she sure doen't have the same considerations. She laughs with Cordelia, obviously admiring her and her aschievment and when Cordelia asks the job question to Tora, she tries to cover him up like she obviously don't like what he does and try to hide it (even if in her head it is for his sake, nobody who is ashamed of his situation want someone to cover it up for them this way, it just sounds wrong). Since people already said what I also think I will not rewrite it again. just said that overall I found all of them pretty unsensitive over Tora, who is obviously a misfit. And Cordelia sure is cool, she has this strong woman vibe, but she is a meany and looks like a bully.

Yeah - I agree with comments here that Tora dropped the M-word as a last resort to let Poppy know the trouble she’s about to get into by pursuing this business with Quincey. Poppy may have an idea of what Tora does, but I doubt she’s prepared to deal with it once it's staring at her in the face. But no chance that’s happening now since our little hamster’s determined to clinch this deal and make this contract work. Also, kudos to her for pointing out to Tora that meeting Quincey was about work, and not him. But alas, Tora as Q’s bodyguard blurs that line between personal and professional. Even if she found Tora’s behaviour exasperating (and rightly so), Poppy still cares for him. She tried to diffuse the tension between Cordy (whose assertiveness is not really helping the situation) and Tora by answering for the latter. Pissed and not keen to play this game, Tora decided to let her have it. I'm afraid Blondie didn’t think this plan through despite his noble goal. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and Quincey’s on this road due to Tora’s negative reaction. Let’s hope the princess survives this one, muehehe. Methinks Tora will eventually regret giving in to his anger and perhaps jealousy. He wanted to leave Poppy a good impression when they said their goodbyes in Regina’s Peak, even giving her his most prized possessions for her birthday (OMG - why are my eyes sweating?!). Perhaps we will find out the impact of his bold (and careless) declaration next week, especially on Poppy. Thanks again to Lily and team for another intense episode. Looking forward how our heroes deal with their complex emotions and Narin’s underbelly. In other words, where the f*ck is that NOTEBOOK?! Cheers!

Even their little moment outside of Alice’s place was calm in comparison. This feels like a turning point where you start to see someone fully- flaws and all. I finally got my marbles back... And I decided to write a few things... Although I don't usually do this shit but I kinda feel yall went a little bit too deep and sad about this story...🤷🏻‍♀️ 1. For me it's a very intelligent written/drawn story. Much like when I read a good book I like to devour the author's story line, without trying to guess what is going to happen next. That makes it even more exciting and every new ep is a delightful new surprise. 2. I stopped pitting Tora. Yes, he had an awful childhood but I think now he is in a personal "good place". He accepts his life. He knows that there is no way out. He knows how bad things can go and that is why he is trying to protect the people he loves. And that is a normal thing. I mean... He could go the other way round... Ending up being a deranged fucker. But no, the harsh life he has made him even better as a person. Hell, I think he is even better than a lot of people who had an easy life...! 3. Poppy is not stupid nor naive!!! She knows Tora is envolved in something...she also made the connection between Quincey and the misterious novelist...at the same time knowing that Tora is working for/with him. ... And despite all that, despite the fact she is hinting there is a dangerous world she is a courageous little hamster. She knows that you have to fight your way in life if you want to get through...plus, I do not remember her beeing discouraged by what he is doing, not even when he tried to warn her in some way....! 4. For me, the fact that Tora states angrily that he's in the mafia is just a burst of his sincere concern for Poppy. And nothing more. Every single person at that table knows what he is doing. Come on! Poppy knows, Cordelia must know who she's fuckin with... ( BTW I think she is "the man of the house" in her relationship with Quincey).... So that burst of frustration was not meant to be a shock to anyone... It came just as a justification of his anger and his bad mood at the dinner table...

Am I the only that thinks Tora was being kinda a jerk? (Don’t come for me please 🙏😳😱). I like Poppy’s Feisty side! Clearly she is very intelligent and kind, but she’s not going to be a doormat for Tora and his bad mood...even though I think the bad mood is stemming from ‘man flu’ and worry that Poppy is getting more entangled in his world by becoming Quincey’s editor. I see Tora’s jealousy rising until his head was ready to explode 🤯. I wonder if Cordy is a ‘legal practitioner’ on the organized crime side? Or could she become someone that helps take down the Balthuman organization in the future? This has nothing to do with this episode ...but I have to get this off my chest. Ok. Here is my wild theory I hope isnt true. Maybe this has been said before but...what if Erdene is Gyu’s sister and has hooked up with tora. My evidence: Episode 14, Erdene is being an awesome friend. She also brings up the presentation stuff but then also tora (obviously not by name) and Erdene seems pretty excited about a boy saving poppy and some more conversation is had. She also seems like a really amazing friend. Then in the episode where poppy makes toro dinner, she admits that she had her webcam on and that her two friends were watching them so she didn’t die. I thought FOR SURE we would see Erdene freaking out at work the next day. Which is what Jacob did. But to my surprise, nothing. Then later on, unsure which episode it is, Gyu says to tora his sister has been trying to call and he wasn’t picking up. Tora obviously doesn’t want to be with anyone but poppy so he doesn’t care. This could easily be a way to show toro is really into poppy. And I could be reading too much into, but that was my first thought. We also don’t see Erdene again. She is mentioned but that’s it. She might be staying away because she loves poppy and would never want to ruin this for her. Poppy does say Erdene’s name to toro, but if her family is involved with the mafia shit, she might have changed her name. Which, if so she might have wanted to warn poppy not to hang with toro, so who knows. Anyways, that’s my wild theory I hope is not true.

I love Quincy and think he really meant well, but I don't think he knows how truly bad it is for Tora in the mafia. I'm sure as the bosses son he is given privileges and is protected from a lot of the bad things that goes on. Tora was trained to be a weapon anything he shows interest in can be used against him. When I read comics, Manga, webtoons, etc., I usually read them silently and maybe show facial expressions occasionally. I do this to not bother others around me, but mainly because this my own little nook 😋. My me time. "Don't talk to me while I'm endulging in my comics" kind of thing, lol! THIS time, I truly laughed out loud though and I couldn't help it 😂 Tora is such a brat 🤣 In the cute way of course. His jealousy and protective side are too much for him to contain. Super entertaining 😂 I think though his comment will blow over like some sort of joke in order to keep Mafia annonimity, but something Poppy will fuss over. C: I so love the use of colour and light in MPL and how Lily used that light effect on Poppy's hair to create a halo around her head, like an actual goddamn angel in Tora's POV was just 😇♥️ Q: I'm a very auditory person so I keep obsessing over what the characters would sound like and with all that great cussing there, I ask: do they have brit accents? How do you imagine their voices to be like, Lily? Could we maybe get some references? haha. Like who could dub them in your head. T: theory time... Cordy says she's a legal practioner, but keeps it vague when Poppy asks if she's like a lawyer ("of sorts"). Maybe Cordy is a DA/Prosecutor.... ???That might have something to do either with how she met Blondie there (investigating his family... Mafia/Law enforcement Romeo and Juliet, papi?) or the part she'll play in the story from here on... And Tora just blurting out he's in the mafia like that possibly in front of a DA is giving me the absolute heebie jeebies!

Not to condone Tora's behavior, cause he was being a real ass, but I can see why he's in a perfect storm of assholeishness right now. Yes I made up a word, deal with it. First, he's terrified for our girl, Poppy. Fear can present itself as anger, and as a kid who was traumatized to turn all his emotions into anger for survival, you know Tora isn't going to use his big boy words to express what's upsetting him calmly. (He does tell Poppy that she doesn't know what she's getting herself involved in when she gets involved with Quincey.) Second, he is a control freak. He has spent his lifetime learning to control his face and body the way it would most benefit him, but right now his body has betrayed him by being sick. Not only his body, but he thought he had control of the whole "keeping Poppy away from the TBO" situation. That's gotta be frustrating and a source of some of the grumpiness. Third, what kind of headspace was Tora in before he showed up? We saw back in episode 36 how bleak his life was without Poppy in it. You know he's got to be mad that he found her and has to push her away. And then there's Quincey, who Tora has every right to be upset with for meddling in his personal life like that. I think there is some jealousy that Cordy is there to egg him on so that he'll get possessive of Poppy, but I don't think it's until later in the episode that comes to the forefront of his emotions. Now we've got Poppy. She realizes who is behind her, but won't look at him, she knows she done messed up. She has previously agreed that they need to stay away from each other, that it's for the best and that he's wrapped up in something dangerous that she knows he wants to keep her uninvolved in. But Poppy also feels a great sense of responsibility to her job and to Gil because he took a chance on her when no one else would and that means working with Quincey to secure Mr. Lam's investment. You know that she wanted to establish a working relationship with Quincey long before she would see Tora again. But Quincey's matchmaking scheme derailed all that. Poppy isn't intimidated by Tora raging at her and instead stands up for herself until Cordy comes in. Even if she's upset with him for his behavior, she is still trying to protect him in the end, by answering Cordelia's question. She doesn't look scared of Tora after he stabs his plate, so much as concerned for his well being. In the past Tora has only gotten aggressive like that (but not to the same degree) when she went to Ares Street, otherwise he shuts down, like when he left Alice's or changed the subject after holding hands. On to Quincey. Quincey don't you know to read the fine print before you sign? In his little flashback he hasn't put it together that Poppy and the Chevy's girl with the notebook are the same person. If he had, do you think he would have tried to set her up with Tora? He brought the evening together with the best of intentions, looking out for his bro and wanting to bring him happiness after his crypic texts, but you really need to talk to people before you meddle in their love lives. Tora sent out those messages and neither one of his friends thought to ask him about them, instead speculating behind his back. Quincey can atone for his sins by not sitting by Cordy. You know, at least until they leave and Tora kills him. Cordelia. Hmm, I have mixed feelings about our resident sugarplum. If Quincey asked them to stay for dinner so that they could have some fun bothering Tora, then Cordy has succeeded, if that's their natural personality then I'm not a fan. I'm going to hold off on an opinion of them until we get to know them better.

One thing that really stood out to me in this ep. (besides Tora’s sexy hair, Cordy’s swoon worthy BDE, that cute sweatshirt, Quincey being like “wtf did I just sign”, etc, etc) was their initial meeting (or, actually, non-meeting). There was no sarcastic remark from Tora, no “you stalking me, sweetheart?”, no greeting at all. He literally side-stepped her and walked straight passed, which, for Poppy, would seem so odd. He’s always given her attention and sought her out. (I re-read those first few panels like 5 times before continuing on with the rest of the episode cause it broke my heart & apparently I’m a glutton for punishment). Imagine you’re Poppy. Here’s this person who came into your life in a whirlwind, who you really enjoy spending time with, and then it ends pretty quickly & before you’re ready. You’ve been thinking about him since, trying to come to terms with it, and then, during the next but unexpected meeting, he seems so distant & not happy to see you. Then, you get in a fight. THEN, you get confirmation that he truly is into some bad stuff. Like, OOF. I know Poppy is a strong person with bigger career aspirations and other life goals that don’t have anything to do with her love life, but I still think that initial reaction of him seeing her would be confusing, hurtful, and strange based on their previous interactions.

Soooo now that I’ve had the time to process that whole Ep and read through a bunch of comments. HOLY. My 15 year old self is in looooooove with grumpy Tora. Everyone has pretty much touched on all of the emotions I’ve felt throughout this ep. I think everyone is kind of overall disappointed in the way all of the characters have handled this situation. No pointing fingers from me, everyone kind of seems to blame for ending up at this awkward dinner party. However, I think we as readers are missing information to completely understand what Tora and Poppy are feeling. All we know is that they’ve had an emotional separation, we didn’t get to see their actual parting after Regina’s peak and haven’t seen the text message conversation surrounding the conditions of their goodbye. We also went from a super honest and open interaction between them to this big mess of deception (? Can’t think of a better way to describe that). Oh and Tora’s Dino T-shirt is everything. Even the comments that point out that he’s also wearing a Dino shirt when he’s crying and locked away, just bringing me back to all the feelings of Tora being a poor sweetheart- A sweetheart that needs to be taken care of when he’s feeling sick. (I’d volunteer as tribute to take care of that tiger any day haha). Just like every week, I’m captivated by Lily’s art and storytelling. There’s no other story that has a hold on my heart and emotions like this one. Now I’m back to counting down the days until the next episode drops.. but at least it’s only a week this time 🥰

I love reading everyone comments and theories almost as much as I love MPL... Almost. This episode seems to be a little polarizing for some in the Cordelia/Tora department. I’m enjoying both sides of the argument but for me this incident didn’t change my perception of anyone at all honestly. I didn’t expect things to go south so quickly but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Tora needs to be put over my knee for his little tantrum but he’s still my cinnamon roll. His motives are honorable and his track record is more than solid. My feet (hands, boobs, ass) are still firmly planted in Team Tora ❤️ Territory. Cordy is still my favorite new baddie on the block. Her reaction was 💯 justified. She doesn’t know Tora or his intentions. She’s never seen the sweet little kitten playing with his flower that we’ve come to love. He would never hurt Poppy but all she sees is this six foot three brute being overly aggressive with this tiny woman for no apparent reason. Although the whole lawyer thing plus Tora’s breakdown has me mildly concerned. Umm Quincey honey I hope you know what you‘re doing?

It is so sad to me read people calling Tora a Jerk or abusive. I simply read all episodes again... and Tira was sweating by imagining what any Ares guy could do to Poppy. Now, if she is connected to Vincent Balthumon SON... she would immediately became a target in a gangs war (that is about to happens). I cannot understand in what unicorns world Quincey live... Seriously, how can he be so naive to "don't understand" why Tora and Gyu avoid romantic relationships. And I believe Poppy will understand his actions as soon as she listen his last sentence. Deep inside her soul she knows he may be a mafia guy. And she also knows he is a good guy. I am truly sad because, although I laugh many times during this episode, it is a really sad moment specially for Tora. He was trully sad after put a "end" with their "relationship". They both treasure their relationship... they know it is something beautiful and special. I do believe they understand each other. But it is not easy to let it go... so what horrible surprise Quincey prepared for his Boo Boo... I have mix feelings for Cordelia. She said that Tora was rude (and he was) but she was also rude with Quincey... at least she wasn't nice... (telephone call "si pappi"). So I just hope next episode can be like a warm hug for them...

I hesitate to add anything to the dizzying array of awesome comments, but here’s a couple thoughts. 1. Dinos aside, gray sweatpants are always on the dress code. 2. Give it up, Pops, you are Lily-jinxed: no proposal you write will _ever_ be read. 3. Really enjoyed the parallel and contrast of the two alphas’ eyes - silver and gold. 5. The occasional slight glow around Tora’s head was most likely needed to create contrast with the dark restaurant so his beautiful hair would read better. Sigh. So happy he forgot his hair tie again. 6. Feel like Cordy is playing a role Quincey put them up to for his matchmaking schemes, aka the “fun you might be interested in” from last ep. 7. A rare sideways panel in MPL! Nicely done and sized to one phone screen so it doesn’t disrupt the scroll overmuch. 8. Also loved Lily’s use of lighting in this darkish restaurant atmosphere to direct the reader’s eye where she wanted it to go. So for example in the sideways panel the eye sweeps from Q to P/C and back, with Tora’s face as a tertiary focal point midway. 9. Poppy’s reds and yellows really pop her out of every frame she appears in, as opposed to everybody else’s colors which are all pretty complementary. So even though Tora is the painfully underdressed one, design-wise Poppy remains the outsider, the true fish out of water at this dinner. 10. Finally, I found Tora’s last line so powerful and heartbreaking. From the first throwing his jacket on her, to not letting her ID him at the tree, to the “hotline to a lethal weapon,” through the last couple of “that’s all I can say” responses, he has done everything to protect her - and himself - while simultaneously dropping hints and showing her his real self (takes her to Alice’s, and Regina’s Peak, and balcony talk) because how can he not be authentic with her? So this moment where he drops all pretense and protection and at the same time out-alpha’s Cordy by cutting through all their bs and gamesmanship, was just like a beautiful pain truth spear thrown through all three of them, and also me. So good.

This episode is a whole MOOD. I did a little exercise and put myself into each and everyone of these character’s shoes. I recommend it for everyone, it really helps understanding their reactions better. 1. There is Quincey – playing matchmaking, with the best intentions, wishing his brother the „happiness he deserves”, but at the same time totally oblivious to the dangerous life Tora leads and his repercussions. The thought that Tora keeps his distance from women out of fear or shame does not even cross his mind. To him life was easy, rich, served on a golden spoon, sheltered from the gory details of Tora’s job (and/or training? ) Therefore he thinks that a little play with Cordelia will make the big iceberg melt and show that he cares about Poppy. The thing is Tora through his huge tantrum actually proves that he cares, only not in the way Quincey believes. Q signs the contract blindly just to stop the argument between those three? Oh boy, I just had a flashback of a child wishing to do anything so that mommy and daddy do not fight anymore. He only got himself into more trouble. 2. Cordelia – going from having a little fun as instructed by Quincey to being surprised by Tora’s behaviour and go into „protect mode”. So far we don’t know if Cordy knows or has seen Tora before – from the dialogue it seems is the first time they encounter him (Tora asks Who the fuck are you?). 3. Poppy – what does she know so far? She knows that Tora belongs to a dangerous organization („He is in a dangerous organisation and does not want me to get involved. If I have any sense I better respect that” in ep 41), she knows that they are comfortable in each other’s presence, that he is also kind and gentle, that he seems to reciprocate her feelings. But also she is broke, hired at a startup company that has great financial difficulties, she feels obligated towards Gil, who gave her a chance, she has a once in a lifetime opportunity to „double the proposal money”as mr. Lam said and she wants to be good at her job, to make her Dad proud and basically to have her life together. So she decides to act professionally and separate her personal life from her job duties. Being called by Quincey to that meeting – she has no idea that Tora will be there and to her this is a professional meeting. 4. Tora – well he just tried his damn hardest to keep Poppy out of his life, said all his goodbyes however painful, gave her something meaningful to him as a memento, tries to come to terms with his decision (and this is no easy task as we see how he cannot stop thinking about her at Fred’s restaurant). And what does his friend do? He throws his efforts down the drain, get Poppy even more tangled up in his life, this time out of his control. Let’s not forget that however friends they are, Quincey is still his boss’s son and this means that every deal with him will likely reach Vincent’s ears, therefore Tora has no power to protect her anymore. So out of fear, out of lack of control, out of anger and frustration that nobody seems to respect his wishes (did Quincey ask him about Poppy? ) lashes out at everyone. What would you do if you made a final decision and then somebody comes and meddles with that, putting you in a position to look like a fool? Undermining your authority if you will? I feel that most of his anger is directed at Quincey, because he knows the man and his romantic affairs (Quincey is a self declared expert so there is a backstory here). He calls it at the table „keep ya mouth shut if ya wanna make it out alive tonight”. And when all his rage does not scare Poppy, than he just comes out bluntly and defiantly towards Cordelia and as a warning to Poppy „I’m in the mafia”. There I've said it. There is no turning back now. I am so eager to see how their relationship will progress because I have a feeling that Poppy will surprise Tora and will soften him up in the most unexpected way.

There's so much to say here! I don't know why, but I always love it when Tora startles Poppy and the HOOOOONK was funny to me! Also, pink nosed Tora is the cutest Tora. Even moreso when it's pink-nosed Tora with a guitar-playing T-rex sweater. How rude though when he couldn't even just acknowledge Poppy and went straight to accuse Quincey. Like, yeah Quincey messed up but Poppy was just being all innocent and there for professional reasons, he didn't have to be an ass to her. The bullshit panel was just super sad. I saw a comment somewhere that there was fear in his eyes in that panel and I definitely agree. I'm sure he's pissed, but those eyes are super concerned. I absolutely LOVED how Poppy stuck up for herself though! She might be crushing on the guy, but she doesn't let him hold her down. Quincey is ridiculous but I love it. How are you going to sign something without reading it?? Just to save your ass I guess. Will be pretty entertaining though. Jealous Tora is EVERYTHING. I do feel really bad for him though. Because I don't think it's just romantic jealousy, I think it's life jealousy too. Cordelia is a super confident woman who doesn't let her job define who she is. Tora, on the other hand is ashamed of who he is because he partakes in the mafia. He probably feels really uncomfortable here.

What I’ve noticed this episode is how Tora and Poppy have switched places. Poppy is usually the one feeling like she sticks out like a sore thumb (think episode 15, Poppy standing outside the restaurant, completely dressed down). This time, Tora is the one sticking out, hello T-Rex sweater! a design choice which echoes Poppy’s usual “childish” attire. Poppy is in her element here! She’s comfortable and confident, dressed up like an “adult.” Tora’s outburst reflect his insecurities roiling to the surface. Our smooth, confident Tiger has unraveled into an emoting, unrestrained, and panicked animal.

So I just noticed something interesting...Tora’s been trying so hard to keep Poppy away from his world and he nearly succeed but it was Tora’s own actions that brought Poppy to Quincey. Tora helped her save Mr Lam. In the process of her using the information Tora gave her, Poppy encountered Benjamin and met Quincey. Now, with Mr. Lam still alive, his condition for working with Poppy’s company is for Quincey to be the one to finish the story Mr. Lam’s wife started. If Tora hadn’t helped Poppy save Mr. Lam, she would have no reason to seek out Quincey and Quincey wouldn’t have met her and noticed Tora’s attraction to her which caused him to set up this meeting in the first place.

Ok so my thoughts: Absolutely loved how it went to a climax and then settled down non conclusion, it was hilarious to see Quincey trying to help Tora out and it all going to trash 😂😂 Another thought about Tora, he, in a weird twist of events, brought Poppy into his world and now is trying so hard to keep her out of it, but as fate would have it, they seem to just keep bumping into each other and I love that. Ok my opinion: Quincey said that Tora might already be in love with Poppy....I truly hope that’s not the case. They don’t know each ALLL to well yet, just a few things about each other that they can pass as maybe friends dare I say just acquaintances....maybe they barley make it over the friend line. I am an English teacher and the writing/storytelling is a+ I fully enjoy every minute of reading this webtoon so much I had to become a Patreon member! But back to what I was saying, I do hope if they do decide they are friends and want something more, that they get to know more about each other because as of now, the characters and the development of them are coming along beautifully! I would LOVE to see Tora be vulnerable with Poppy and open up to her about everything he’s been through and vise versa....Please keep up the amazing work and also, I love the “secret garden” pieces as well☺️

This is the second time Tora is mad at Poppy (first when she went to Ares Street alone) for he sees (because he knows) what she can’t yet... it’s almost natural to him to be protective over her... anything could be love ... or could be not... if you start reasoning it... one of us Patreon (can’t remember the name) mentions above that hopefully it’s not love because they don’t know each other well... my observations and experiences of relationships says otherwise though... I don’t agree that love is ever about knowing and then loving... it’s about naturally feeling drawn/connected to somebody and then learning about them as relationship progress... as cheesy as it sounds, I see it everywhere... love is a reason for all unreasonable things, I had read somewhere... anyways back to our Tiger boy and Shorty... there is a definite connection between the two ...they feel it... we feel it... and they are both being themselves at the same time... head strong in their convictions of what’s right and what’s wrong, while caring for each other deep down without even thinking about it... Tora fiercely tries to protects her... Poppy tried to stop Cordy asking Tora about his job... she knows it’s not something he’s proud of...she respects people’s choices without questioning because she knows there’s always a story...to me that’s the beauty of this pair... this heartbeat is what makes a mundane life feel like fairytale... temporarily at least...so why not!

I thought poppy was on to tora and Quincey before when she search his name of googglee (She ask herself “Will she escape.”) If we are follow storyline events she’s still want to be Quincey editor after researching information about his name; a bit about the Balthuman background. I like to believe poppy is no fool. Therefore, she’s fairly not indiscreet in knowing something is up with Tora I mean think about it. Tora knew all these thug things like “Regina Peak” hunted secret/ He tells her his stories about his past. Not only that if you noticed her eyes when she says “You weren’t kidding when you said you are a thug right?” But you can see that poppy is pretty much on apt to knowing what toras been hiding.

❗️❗️❗️I’ve been thinking... Tora trying to protect Poppy is just something happening inside his head, he’s not the only reason she is involved with the mafia, he’s been innocent about it (so has she, both are clueless). ❗️❗️❗️ Poppy would have had contact with Quincey anyway, probably would be less effective to make a deal with Q without knowing Tora, but it would have happened sooner or later. Mr. Lam has been in the picture long before their interactions, she had an appointment with him the day after she met Tora, so she was already aware of Mr. Lam’s deal. Also, when explaining his reasons to refurbish his late wife novel, he had a picture of Quincey, so it would have been easier for Poppy to pursue him somehow, since she reeeeeally tries hard to achieve her goals, especially business wise. Since it was partly because of Poppy that Mr. Lam had contact with those thugs at Chevy’s, I see how important Tora’s presence was for her, he tried to help her and all. Tora actually helped Mr. Lam and got Poppy involved with Quincey without even knowing and now is bitching about it. ALSO: Gil is shady as fuck, I mean, he has to be involved in the mafia world, and god knows if Gil knew about Mr. Lam wanting Quincey as his novelist and just set up the whole deal, designating Poppy for it cause she was headstrong/good at work BUT it could also be deeper, could be related to someone who is connected to Poppy (mother? late father?) and was somehow inside this “world”. I remember some old comments discussing about she being very young and just graduated to be hired and ‘promoted’ so fast as well as a probable connection with Poppy’s family and the mafia, without she/Tora even realizing she’s been inside this mess waaaay back and only now the dots are starting to connect in her life. Poor Tora though, he tried hard but it would have happened with or without him, her involvement. Her boss is shady, her father’s death was sudden, her mom seems shady, Mr. Lam wants Quincey as his novelist > Quincey is the mafia boss’ son, Tora would be there being his bodyguard and Vincent’s hitman ANYWAY!!! 🥵 What I’m trying to say is: Tora is an inevitable addition to Poppy’s life, seems to me like destiny. Every road she could have chosen, would lead to him. This is not about ‘why Poppy’ and ‘why Tora’, this is about soulmates. Not only that, but >strawberry girl< is probably Poppy, so this makes things even more heavenly. His apparent first crush is his actual crush and this pattern repeats, they keep running into each other, they keep calling each other and trying to separate yet they just can’t, the whole universe is bringing them together e v e r y f u c k i n g t i m e. I was against the whole "it was Poppy who Tora was helping in the Ares King picture" but I realized that Poppy could've been "strawberry girl" and THAT girl because when she was on the tree with her Dad she was drinking a strawberry juice. Tora probably did meet her briefly and she must've been drinking strawberry juice when he did.

Hi everyone, please forgive me if this has been covered, I keep reading everyone’s posts and love the intelligent interpretations. I don’t know if it’s just an obvious answer , but how come Tora is having trouble cutting up the meal? We know he loves fine foods / is comfortable in fancy restaurants and we’ve seen him devour sushi with skill 🥵, but is it just because of his manflu and being totally out of his safe zone that he can’t handle cutting the ‘steak’? And it’s really obviously pissing him off. Why is it frustrating him? Am I missing something ? I have great respect for Lily’s storytelling so just want to make sure I’m picking up all of the intended details. Please and thank you 🙏🏽🙌🏽😊🥵🥰😍😍🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓

I totally agree with comments by Victoria Dias and NEETU KAHLON. I also think Tora may not care that much for the way Cordelia behaves with Quincy. Look at the way she dismisses the Quincess wanting to spend time with her. Tora cares for Quincy. He gives him heck, but he doesn't like it when anyone else does. I am sure the Quincess in all of his expressiveness has stated things about his relationship with Cordelia (aka Sugar Plum). So, Tora walks into a situation where he is sick; he is sad about having to distance himself from Poppylan because he feels he endangers her with his presence; he sees Cordelia (aka Sugar Plum the trouble fairy) touching her when he himself has not be able to due to his self-induced distancing; and, here the Quincess has meddled and involved Poppylan again. I do not blame him for becoming Annoyed Tora. I understand Tora's annoyance, but I don't believe he could have stayed away from Poppylan anyway. Love happens when it happens and there is no timeframe on it. You do need a certain level of discernment and openness to recognize it, though. Unfortunately discernment comes from experiencing bad relationships or interactions in your love journey and you must come to a point where you love yourself before you can let anyone else truly love you. As for Tora, I actually feel he needs to be around Poppylan because her boss Gil is as shady as a Giant Sequoia tree. He presents two faces and you can never trust anyone who does that. I also got the vibe from the beginning that he was just too interested in Poppylan. Something just feels fishy about the whole Goldfish Publishing thing. I also have a theory that Gil may be involved with the mafia in some respect like borrowing money from them to start the company or maybe he is running the company as a shell organization for them. Whatever it is, I think Tora's unique job skillset may be necessary to help Poppylan. Also have a theory that Poppylan's mother was originally from the city and has ties to one of the mafia families but that's complete supposition. But I got a feeling just like Will.I.Am. Thanks for making this comic Lilydusk! The artwork drew me in but your story is keeping me interested. Fabulous job!

... I'm pretty heartbroken by a lot of comments on this post. I think Lilydusk is very talented and I appreciate that she writes about difficult, painful, and even triggering topics. Intense topics like the ones she includes are frequently going to provoke different responses in different people. As a generally welcoming community we should respect that. Everyone has their own experiences that impact their perspectives. If someone else has said something like this I apologise for being redundant. I wasn't able to read through all of the comments before I had to stop. If you loved this episode, good for you! I'm sincerely glad you enjoyed it. If this episode was hard for you and you found characters' behaviors to be abusive, you get to feel that way and you shouldn't have to be told you're wrong. I'm sorry it was tough. In this episode I found Tora's behavior to be abusive, Quincey's to be manipulative and ignorant, and Poppy's to be demeaning at times. Tora and Poppy's screaming match gave me flashbacks to my childhood. I'm currently in trauma therapy dealing with the lasting effects of my family's abusive behaviors. I recognized some of my parents' behaviors in Poppy and Tora. I had to stop reading the episode multiple times before I was able to finish it. I was a really rough episode for me. Reading comments where some people are telling others that their perspective of Tora being abusive is wrong seems rather disrespectful, dismissive, demeaning, rude, and even gaslightish. People get to view Tora's behavior as abusive if that's how they see it. You don't have to agree. You can state that you don't agree. But saying that the other person is wrong is going too far, in my opinion. There is a difference between intent and impact. I don't need to be told how Tora is a good person, he is acting out of love, or his history explains/excuses his behaviors. I do believe that his intent is good but that doesn't mean the impact of his actions is good. To be fair I realize that there could be comments where people who found Tora's behavior to be abusive were telling others they were wrong for not seeing it that way. I don't think that is okay. I didn't see any but I didn't read a lot of the comments because of the ones that upset me so much. One of the beautiful things about art is that one gets to interpret it for themselves. We all get to have our own life experiences influence how we interpret the world. We don't have to agree with each other. We don't have to convert others to our way of thinking. I really hope we can simply respect our differences and possibly learn from each other. We all come here to discuss and share our thoughts on this art that we all enjoy or we wouldn't be here. Please respect opposing viewpoints and life experiences. Life is too short and precious to be driven away from the art you enjoy because other fans treat your perspective as invalid.

Even in the midst of their conflict and “breakup” Poppy is still relating to Tora like he is her partner. When she tries shield him from the “What do you do for a living” question from Cordy. Also when it’s evident he plans to respond in a hostile manner to Codelia’s question Poppy sort cautions him like a wife with a “T-Tora” like she is pleading with him to settle down.

Lily, oh Lily, how are you so talented? The depth, the emotion, the room left for interpretation. Is it an accident, or is it intentional? It seems so intentional, and precise. My perfectionism would take me a year to think out and put in what you do in a week. I think that is what so intriguing about this story, your ability to give enough to have a good plot, but leave so much room for us to feel these unspoken emotions that we know are present.
