I thought I was going to cry, but I'm fine. Super excited!!! I ADORE the colors you choose for night city lights. Is like I'm peeking through the panel and actually seeing it happen before me. And also, to have Poppy's inner thoughts was so refreshing and internalizing what love is and this is her new life made me feel warm. She's realizing what true love should feel like and in the little time she's known Tora he's made her feel and experience all these mix of emotions. Oh wow, that episode was just perfect! So I now have this crazy theory that Poppy's dad is actually Vincent's younger brother. He changed his name and wanted a life outside the organization. So Poppy is really Vincent's niece. So if Tora is descendant of the kings of old and get with Poppy, they can claim the leadership of the Balthuman organization since Poppy is really a Balthuman. And I'm sure Quincey won't fight her for it. And that was my tinfoil theory. I also loved that whole sweet birthday arc and I can't wait to know what Erdene saw Tora do! Is Goliath still in Narin? The piggyback walk was the sweetest and I love that every time they trust each other a little more, their doors open wider and they seem more comfortable with one another. Congratulations on the completion of the season 1 and the cliffhanger was excellent!! So we now know that Goliath is alive for now. I am still convinced that he is Tora's brother or cousin. But IAnd it suggests that Poppy might be related to Quincey after all - through Poppy's Dad, although I thought initially it would have been through her Mum, but thanks for clarifying that. On more serious note, Goliath is wearing two shoes and they look nothing like the bloody one Poppy found. So my tin foil is that Goliath slapped some blood sucking mosquitoes, jumped off a cliff and hopped on his merry way. Maybe have been unconscious for some time too, quite a fall though.

So this episode was soooo satisfying. After the absolute roller coaster of emotions last episode, My heart and soul feel better for them. Still very interested in Erdene and Pinky. I wonder what training on Monday entails.... After seeing some theories about the brooch, I can totally see the shape being similar to the bathuman one and maybe her dad separated himself from the family.... Buuut what if it's to the rival? Okay lily I'd love to know your opinion on my metaphor for Poppy and Toras relationship. It seems to me that it's like Poppy is riding a bike down a mountain, she's putting on the brakes a little bit so that she doesn't go to fast but she's still moving forward and not completely stopping. Tora is waiting for her at the bottom no matter how slow she goes. Or is she not even ready to go down the mountain at all yet? Or does she not realize she's already halfway down lmao?

Son of a fudgebiscuit - that was one hell of a finale!!! Lily, you have outdone yourself. I feel like we are all going to need this hiatus to gather our strength because season 2 is going to be one helluva major adrenaline rush. The pacing of this story is phenomenal. I know the romance is the main point, but it’s the actions of the other players that bring Tora and Poppy together. This episode was incredible all my inner angst has melted away about Poppy and Tora and I cannot wait til next season! I loved every panel, but my favorite sequence was the piggy back ride with Damien. I loved how Tora scooped up Poppy cause poor Damien was going down, and then told Damien training Monday. It was like Tora was saying, “what you’re NOT going to do is insult my girl’s weight, she is a delicate dainty little flower and your weak self should be able to hold up that bony chick and my little hamster no problem.” Hahahaha defend your girl’s honor! But, I think what we saw with Goliath was from the train station area and I think it showed what really happened to him, I think Poppy really only had that one page and that the rest of it is well, fluttering about now. I will be re reading until next season and finding things to occupy my mind, like finish tightening my dreadlocks finally lol. There are just so many great things about this season finale chapter, so many things I can brag about and that I absolutely love... But I gotta say i love how all the loose ends and unanswered problems, all the twists and complications, were shown there at the end to remind us what all is conspiring and what all is to come. I loved the way this episode and arc ended. There was so much uncertainty in the last episode and this felt very soothing. Poppy and Tora are together, having fun, and being cute at the end. In the beginning of this arc Poppy was still in denial that Tora could be interested in her. Now at the end she’s starting to let herself believe it. I know from experience how scary that leap of faith is (cliff jumping symbolism anyone?? 😂) but man is it a thrill, and I think that’s where we’re leaving Poppy at the end of this arc. Earlier the scene where Poppy asks him if he’s sure about putting the necklace on her was perfectly done. It really felt like she was asking, “So you and me? We doing this?”. In my opinion, the necklace in the heart shaped box seemed to symbolize his heart and she was actually asking him if he was certain about giving it to her, to keep safe. (I’m thinking about seashells in the dream sequence as well!!). Of course Tora didn’t hesitate (not like in the dream) to put it on her and you could tell how happy Poppy was. Taking pictures of him, probably to savor the moment later. She couldn’t even wait til she got home haha she had to look at the pics while still at the club making her blush. It feels like they are somewhat on the same page now. I wouldn’t say they’re dating but instead some sort of relationship that can’t be labeled right now. I think the next season is going to be amazing. They both seem really content right now but unfortunately I think the storm is coming. My theory about what Erdene said has been said before probably haha but I think Erdene caught Tora drooling/sulking over Poppy all night. In episode 54 Erdene spots Tora lurking at the bar behind Poppy and he’s watching her. She’s like 🤔. Anyway Thank you Lily ❤️❤️❤️ for everything you do and for this amazing story that’s really helped me get through this pandemic. I’m usually a voracious reader but when the pandemic hit I found it difficult to escape through reading. Webtoons were easier for me to focus on and when I found MPL I was hooked. This is also the first time I’ve become a patron. So thank you so much for your hard work and your beautiful storytelling. You are truly talented!! ❤️❤️❤️

I think this is the slowest I have ever read an MPL episode and when I finished I was kind of emotional 🥺 But oh my, what a great finally! Seems like Poppy is very comfortable around the thugglets already when she can casually drop that Tora always asks her for a gun 😂😂 She’s getting used to the mafia business like 💅 So it looks like that Poppy‘s feelings for Tora grow more and more that’s what I take from her inner monologue. I guess that’s why she took the photo of Tora. Because she wants to have something to look at. It might be her new wallpaper pic 😉 I wonder whether he noticed or was too focused on the necklace... GOSH when Tora told her to turn around so he can put the necklace on, I got goosebumps!!! But I’m not surprised that this delicate chain broke in his big hands 😂 When she asked him if he was sure he had one more chance to validate his feelings for her. Obviously, he likes the idea that she wants to wear his ring and is happy about it. Oh and I like the metaphor right here when Tora asks if she’s gonna toss away the necklace now and she replied that the form might have changed but its essence is still the same. This can be applied to him 😊 And then the heartwarming look when she said “Happy Birthday to us”. I’m happy that at least for now everything is okay between them! Now, the foundation is laid out for something to grow on 🌱 I loved the moment when Tora turned to Poppy and implied a kiss and Poppy turned all red again 😍😍😍. Seems he only had eyes for Poppy and noticed the starring thugglets when it was too late and turned around quickly 😂 But anyway he is not as ashamed to be seen doing that than Julry was. Ok so I must say that Poppy is really brave doing a piggyback ride in a dress 😂 If it was me the dress would be somewhere up my butt already and revealing everything🍑And im even more surprised that Tora doesn’t mind either! But hey Poppy is drunk. But man....they are so close....like her boobs are pressing against his back!!!! Poppy’s Poppy hair pin was something that belonged to her dad? For some reason I thought she had it from her mom....maybe it’s some kind of mafia clan emblem? That would be cool! Candy looked like somebody just slapped her and she looks scared...I wonder what happened to her...Where ever Ben and Candy may be, those guys look like from another clan and maybe they recognize the brooch as something more important than just the material value. Finally Goliath appears and it makes me wonder if this is still Narin City because it looks so tropical. Anyway, great cliffhanger! So Goliath IS still alive ! This episode had me feeling some kinda way. I thought it was gonna tear my heart out but it didn‘t! It was so sweet and gentle and gets me excited for the next season in a different way than a sketchy cliffhanger. Thank you Lily! I have to say I‘m really surprised by how fine Tora is with having Poppy and Erdene hang out and goof around with the thuglets. I wouldve thought he would be more insistent on keeping them away from the Mafia business but then again it seems like the thuglets‘ allegiance is really more to their Big Bro than to the clan. So if Tora were to break formation they would have his back! I wonder if Erdene and Pinky will become a thing or leave it at a one night kinda thing. And how Erdene will think about the thuglets after that evening. Kith! Omg I laughed so hard! And c‘mon the thuglets are blind. The obvious chemistry! The piggy back ride. The sneaking off into a corner. This is not gonna stay a secret for long 😅 I am so excited to see where next season takes us. The conversation between Tora and Poppy has the depths of the abyss smh!!! Soooooo deep!!! Tora wonders if she wants to get rid of that necklace now that it's broken and Poppy hurriedly reassures him, "No." She doesn't mind that it has glitches, you can still work with it and it still means just as much. The way Tora was trying to do it all on his own and not use to having help as he tells her I got it, forcing the pieces together because he wants that necklace on her so badly, all the while Poppy reassures him, it's ok to take your time with it and move at a bit of a slower pace and you'll still accomplish it, again I feel like this whole situation is straight up references to their relationship. It's like "let's date before the marriage". They are both in love and there is nothing Tora won't do for her and nothing she won't do to ensure his mind is in a peaceful state. I love how in the last episode when Poppy put her fingers to Toras lips and he grabbed them like a cigarette..... His new addiction!!! Now in this episode as she is stealing pictures of her beautiful man, he places his fingers up against his lips signaling for a kiss as she blushes. My goodness there is so much more to say but I will be typing FOREVER!!! LILY YOU ARE AN ARTISTIC GURU!!! Thank you!!! Poppy’s monologue had strong references to the following passage in the Bible- “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13, 4-7. A scripture I’ve held near and dear to my heart as a reminder on love over the years (so much so that I got it tattooed on my ribs in college over spring break like 10yrs ago 😬 lol was a questionable life choice) so this monologue felt very special and personal to me. As Poppy is referencing all these things and defining what love is and should feel like to her, I think we can all agree she’s talking about Tora 💕 He’s changed her reality as to what love can feel like in such a short amount of time. Calling back to her childhood version of love rather than her recent romantic experiences. It was such a warm and tender moment for them. I also really loved the parallel of Poppy falling crashing alone and heartbroken way back in chapter 1, vs here in chapter 58 falling and stumbling with Tora.

I love that there was a Happy Birthday to us at the year mark of the comic. That was perfect. 🎉❤️ Poppy tearing up when the chain clasp broke, is that because the chain was also sentimental-perhaps from her father, and she was combining the two? Something she could wear that represents the 2 most important men in her life? Or is she just upset that it broke because she wanted this special moment with Tora and now it will be delayed? Poppy's thoughts about how Julri treated her and made her cry at night 😭. I took the comments about how she felt about her childhood to show how secure she was until her mom left and then she began to doubt her feelings about what love should feel like. Now being around Tora, she's experiencing all these emotions that take her back to when she felt the most potential for love and she's found someone who reciprocates what she pours into them. Tora's acts of kindness and his patience with her because she's not ready for more. The way he makes her feel validated and instead of compressed and small, she is allowed to take up space in his life. And in return, she can overlook his mistakes, forgive him and keep trying to move forward, together. 💗 The piggy back ride, in quite a few panels, it looks like it's not very comfortable for Tora because he's hunched over, holding her legs more straight instead of wrapped around him so she's not flashing everyone around them 😂. His jacket on her shoulders, 😍 my heart can't take the cuteness. For the first time he seems to care about what others say about him, at least as far as Poppy is concerned, and she doesn't feel the need to respond when he asks her if she thinks he's gay. Erdene, what did you see? I think this is two-fold. Erdene saw something but also those sweet hamster whispers in his ear, are bringing that tiger to his knees. Tora's stumble reminds me of when he tripped outside the train station and again when he caught her falling from the tree. At the train station, he's falling and he's not sure why. Then when he catches Poppy falling from the tree, it's Poppy's turn to begin falling along with him but she's blinded. Now, they're on the same page, she knows about Tora being in the mafia, and they are about to fall, hard together. Goliath! No time to keep up your blue hair routine when you're on the lam. 🧐 Tin foil hat theory time: Erdene saw that Tora's shirt was made of boyfriend material.😂 Tora's tumble will have them take a cab, and we'll see the return of the gingerbeard man! "Is this the Tora? Your boyfriend who's card you gave me?"

I absolutely love that it comes full circle to the first episode, with Poppy's thoughts and Goliath's appearance. I was sure he was not dead and I can't wait to see what's going to happen to him in the next season. As for Tora and Poppy, they are building intimacy. And true intimacy is not sex or making out, true one is about the TRUTH. Being able to tell your truth to someone and that person does not reject you for it, but does the opposite. They accept, empathize and support you. Tora let the truth out about him to Poppy and she did not walk away. Poppy told him the truth about her inner scars and he accepted her and slowed down. This is the base for long lasting relationships. Their familiarity, their tenderness with each other, their secret gestures (not so secret anymore Tora, way to confuse your crew, but I get it, you only had eyes for your girl and don't give a fuck on what anyone else thinks) - the fact that she is confident enough to reach for him, to hold his hand, to hug him, to share her secrets with him, the honesty ('you don't see me as a kid', 'you were sweet and my hero tonight', 'the essence is still the same') all build up intimacy and deep soul rooted love. And that kind of love will be impossible to break when it will be put to the test. When time will come for the fallen angels to rise again. I absolutely love that she snapped a pic of him (or several?), it mirrors the picture he took of her at the beginning and it shows how much the things have changed between them.  The heart shaped box is also a beautiful symbol - the ring inside is just like the memory of Joe, precious inside Tora's heart, and he is giving his heart away again "to the right people". "You're going to throw it away now that it's broken?" - damn, I cried. No, Tora, she already accepted you as broken as you are.  Now go get that damn chain to a jeweller to repair it and while you're at it, also recover Poppy's hair pin, becoming her hero once again. She might kith you for it.  Catching her falling from a tree on a late night is not as good as having her strapped around your neck on an early morning, much improvement there Tiger. And while on that first day she was crying and Tora's gesture made her day a bit better, now she is fully radiating, smiling and feeling free and hopeful. Isn't that what love brings?  Such a wholesome episode, a perfect season finale. It left me with questions - Goliath what have you done? Erdene what have you told Poppy? Ben and Candy in how much trouble are you? Quincess, how many fuckbudies do you have? - but also with answers and hope and joy for my favorite stinkin cute couple.  Thank you Lily  so much for this story! I hope you'll enjoy your break and get a lot of rest. And you'll continue to blow our minds in season 2.

It was an emotional and hilarious wild ride, season 1. Yet the story has come around full circle right back to the beginning so we can all reflect on where our characters came from, and how they progressed and changed for the positive. Poppy is finally understanding real love, and how peculiar of the source? A stoic man that clan members deem more a beast, is showing that everyone wants to be treated with kindness and respect, and acceptance. So what he wants and values, he’s shown her ten fold, including asking for forgiveness when mistakes were made. And Tora is understanding that there’s hope. That there is a light at the end of the tunnel and although they may not be together as a couple, Poppy is holding his hand and guiding him closer to it every time their paths cross. So amazing. “I’m poppylan Wilkes. I’m a Pisces and my favorite color is Pink” I’m floored. 😂 Goliath national bank... We’ve all been wondering about you! Looking like you running through the Congo on some do or die mission. But I believe that’s a flash back to how we ended up with the bloody shoe. The question still remains... he is alive? Does Poppy’s boss have possession of the notebook and is doing shady things with it? How does Tora know inspector Lane? Are they working together? What about that basic bish thug that found pictures of Tora and the boys as lil’ thuglets by the van and the tapes? Does he still have them? What’s he doing? Is Poppy the girl he helped all those years ago and does he actually remember her but hasn’t said anything? Does Dandy/Daddy Quincess remember and is writing more smut over his muses? Is the brooch a throwback to ancient Narin? A symbol of the Rose Tattoo? Does Quincey actually teach belly dancing on the side...? So many questions. So excited for season two, but dear author and team. Rest well, ice and heat those hands and get massages. Self care ❤️

I assume Poppy is supposed to be blushing at a photo she took of Tora when she's standing with Brian and friends. I think it's super cute that she's looking at pictures she just took of Tora while also checking him out from across the club. And then he does the cute lil kissy gesture at her.... omfg so adorable and sexy! Lily I'm so grateful to have found MPL this past March. It gave me something to look forward to during quarantine. I love the illustration style and the relationships but am really curious about the plot. There are so many unanswered threads that you can tell are tied to each other but not enough has been revealed yet to show just how. 1) Is Goliath still alive-was that shoe covered in blood? 2) Who has the journal-did Poppy's Boss find it or is it still in her possession? 3) What did Tora and Gyu do to the Sushi house owner's son (it was implied subtly that they were involved in his death and Tora has his ring and bracelet that he then gave to Poppy)? 4) Is Tora escalating the gang war with the rival gang as a plan to get everyone arrested and settle his end of the deal with the police? 5) Is Tora going to be ordered to find and kill the green haired thug that found and sold Goliath's DVD incriminating the politician? and 6) What did Erdene tell Poppy that she saw Tora do? This story has the perfect mix of slow burn romance, great plot and witty repartee and beautiful illustrations. Kudos to Lilydusk and her talented team for making this MUST READ work. Looking forward to seeing season 2!

So many different things to say about our final episode 💚... I would like to point out that we are not at all shocked my Tora breaking the chain. Tough, huge man not use to being gentle... Yep saw that coming from a mile away. 😂. I was looking forward to seeing her wear it so his men would know that she was with Tora. That would have shocked them all and answered the main question of " is big bro gay?" Pinky you were definitely not about to take off with Poppy on your back. I couldn't tell if Tora was doing it to help you out or was it out of jealously, but I am going to go with #2. That's his girl and he will take care of her 🥰. I am super curious to know what Erdene saw Tora doing that almost caused him to bust his and Poppy as* on the ground 🤔. Whatever it was definitely threw him off. I think it would be super cute if Pinky and Erdene kind of went steady in season 2. Fingers crossed. Maybe it will encourage Poppy to stop giving Tora such a hard time about their "relationship." Biggest question is where is Galieth... Did he make out after his fall from the cliff. Maybe he just got injured real badly and is hiding out somewhere. My mind is just a bumbling mess & my heart is simultaneously being wrung out & bursting at the same time (I know, I know, dramatic). As many others have said, being a part of this hilarious, horny community & reading your story each week has been one of the biggest highlights during this crazy, uncertain year. ~ GIVE ME ALL THE THUGLETS. I just want them all to be loved & feel safe 😭 Send lil BB Brian my way please 😏 ~ The piggyback ride SENT ME. I was immediately transported & enveloped in that new love feeling. How exciting & special it feels when the one person you want to spend time with spends the whole evening/event with you (especially if you’re more of a wallflower, like Poppy). I feel like it becomes commonplace in a relationship, but that first time is special. It’s all giddiness and nerves and a little awkwardness, but so heavenly at the same time. When you’re in a group & the two of you break away and everyone else just kinda smiles cause they knew it was coming. I don’t think I’m explaining it well, but that part gave me butterflies. ~ Similarly, Poppy being open and communicating (in such a cute Poppy way) about how Tora was her birthday party hero?! ~ “Kith” 😂 GET OUTTA HERE. Cracked me up. ~ Hmm, the necklace part was really interesting. I’m sure it probably symbolizes something more (and I can’t wait to read other analyses), but I took it to mean that Poppy & Tora aren’t *quite* ready/complete yet. ~ Poppy’s inner monologue about remembering & knowing what healthy, freeing love feels like 💔 ~ Also, Poppy, I see you with that sly over the shoulder pic. 😏 Somehow I just don’t think she’ll have to say “he looks better in person, I swear” 😄 ~ Also, really excited to hopefully find out more about Goliath this upcoming season! I plan on re-reading the first season over (and over) during this break and am going to jot down any observations I have. I read this again and i teared up reading Poppy's thoughts of feeling love. I played Shawn Colvin's "Never Saw Blue Like That" and it was so apt to what was happening in the comics by then. You dont need to hear the words to feel the deep respect and love these two have for each other. Us, as the reader can see it, can feel it. Its not as spectacular as fireworks. Its just simply is. As blue as the sky 😭😭😭 i cant help but gush over your story @lilydusk. Thank you for sharing this with us ❤️
