I honestly don’t think Tora is going to do anything, he will let poppy deal with julri alone because he knows she needs to. He will be there to help her go where she wants to go safely, but he wouldn’t threaten julri in front of poppy. He wants to be better and different for her. While we’re all rightfully wanting Poppy and Tora to choose violence for Julri, can we appreciate the art in this episode?! The lighting ✔️ the midnight color palette with these dark blue and purple hues✔️ and these nighttime skies are SUPEEEEERB. No other comic does ambiance and environment this well. 🙌🙌🙌 That cliffhanger!!! I can’t decide what I want more: for Tora to fuck up Julri (which could be the first time Poppy sees that side of Tora and possibly unsettling for her) OR for Poppy to handle her own and have Tora silently back her up with his emotional support. Similar to when he told her to stand her ground in the alley the previous day, saying “what are ya running for? Stand ya ground, I’m right here.” Either way, I am HERE for Julri getting shut down by someone in this scene!! I’d like to give some major props to Poppy. In addition to all of the shit she has been through these past few weeks, she experienced in ONE day the following: a panic attack at work, growing wariness towards Gil, found out her grandmother is in the hospital, traveled home, and NOW is being verbally harassed by her ex. This girl is probably running on pure adrenaline right now and I hope she can crash soon. Perhaps in the safe and loving arms of a certain ~slick city boy~ with glasses… 😜

Ok...so after spamming the comments section I've decided to bring my thoughts over here so I can just make a single, ridiculously long post. First...the copy + pastes of my stream of consciousness posts on Webtoon: I'm glad that Poppy is able to stand up herself on her own two feet although I'm upset she was caught off guard. Julri is a toxic, insecure, lame who is VILE! He knows she's better than him so his only hope was to demean her into relationship. I'm sure he really thinks he loves her too. smh OHHHHH BUT TORA DONE FOUND HER NOW! So she's going to be able to handle the situation on her own, have him come in and support her and crack Julri's face. I live! Rest assured Tora has found her and I can prove it. We're going to the weeds! In the panel where Poppy is looking straight (or East if we call the top of the panel North) and Julri is facing her (south) there is a car between them in the distance heading West. Then there's a fuzzy panel showing Julri from behind. That's Tora's view. We see a panel with the van parked next to a fence and a building with a street light. Tora made the block and now is parked on the outside of that fence. In the panel with his car and "screeech", in the background you can see what looks like a small town self service gas station with the old school pumps. Also to the right of his front tire you can see a bit of the Darleen's logo and the back tire of the van we saw in the other panel. Im not about to be stressed all week. He's found her and now he's going to be able to stop Poppy from committing her first murder. Based on where Tora's car is parked, Julri is going to see him before Poppy does. I wonder what his reaction is going to be. This is the professorial looking Tora not Ares St Tora. Security guards greet this Tora. I kinda hoped he'd shit bricks seeing Tora but now I like the thought of Julri seeing this GORGEOUS, tall, swole, suave, debonair man with fabulous hair driving a luxury SUV in a gorgeous, expensive trench coat whose very essence screams sex and wealth. Julri is going to feel infinitesimal! Now that I don't have to occupy my mind with whether or not he found her, my mind is free to see and wonder all these other things. Like how straight Poppy's back is, how level her chin is and how clear her eyes are when she confronts Julri on how horribly he treated her. And he instantly looked like shit. That's a sign of what's to come. Also, wouldn't it be something if Goliath is laid up unconscious in the same hospital as Granny? Tora has a habit of coming behind her but not announcing his presence. As I said, he's parked behind her. Will this be the first time he embraces her from behind or otherwise let's her know he's at her back? she punched a wall earlier just talking to Julri...and he hadn't brought up her mom then. Is she about to choose violence in this parking lot and Tora is gonna have to hem her up? is Tora FINALLY gonna get to spend the night with her? (After 3 whole weeks Krys, wow.) is he gonna meet granny? Are they gonna notice each other's bruised nuckles? if she had the scooter picked up immediately then only possibly Gil can link her to the notebook and they've already got eyes on him. What are we about to learn about Poppy's mom? was what Granny was holding in the hospital a picture of them? does Granny know where Mom is? is Mom represented in one of the clans Quincey listed will be interested in the notebook? what's the story with Tora calling Gyu Ronzo because...in no way related? who changed Poppy's address?! and where do she really stay? 🤔👀🧐 Now imagine me walking throughout my house doing normal things and I gasp dramatically every time one of these thoughts hits me. I'm just *gasp* what if?! *continues washing dishes* *gasps* What If?! *continues checking emails* *gasps* WHAT IF?! *sips tea* My mom is like "what is wrong with you?!" And I'm like, "Nothing. Why do you ask?" Lmaooo These are my favorite types of cliffhangers. Where I'm on the edge but like, tethered. Can't wait!

2nd Post: But something just dawned on me….with Tora going all this way to support her and be there for her even if he thinks her life is in danger……if he sees her with her ex do u think Tora will think that Poppy went to seek out Julri for support…because remember Poppy technically sent a message to Tora, it just couldn’t deliver. The rage I feel! Oh man! I hope Julri gets what he deserves. I want to see Poppy unleash the hamster fury on him, everything she kept inside just dumps it on this fuckin’ scumbag. UUUGh! The night sky, the roads, the quiet town, the sexy Tora… ups. Down the thirst slope again, not even sorry. Better than rage anyway. Now… I am so very proud of our girl and see how much she evolved over the past weeks so that she can stand her ground in front of her douchebag ex! I believe Tora had everything to do with raising her self-esteem (I loved it in the previous episode when she thinks about him on the train - “he would have come, he is a genuinely nice guy”). Tora did nothing but respect her. He respected her boundaries, he was honest with her, he showed her he cares for her in more ways than one. After years of being gaslighted and treated “like dirt”, is it a wonder Poppy doesn’t think she has anything to offer to anyone romantically? I think it’s hard for her to get out of that mindset and believe someone could actually treasure her, listen to her, and be concerned for her. And everything Tora did since they met was exactly that. Without needing to say “I love you so fking much”(fuck off Julri), Tora ACTED upon this feeling (yes, I do believe at this point he loves her). Examples: catching her when she fell from the tree, making sure she was alright afterward; concern for her safety after chasing Mr. Lam on Ares Street and driving her home from Quincey’s, deleting the photo even before she offered him dinner (“there’s no need, I’ll delete it now”), delivering the painting all the way across town in exchange for a kiss on the cheek (that is what he asked for, thank God he received more than that), asking her if she was comfortable with him hugging her in his apartment, encouraging her in speaking her mind even if she was angry with him (emotional validation), the concern she might get sick because he wanted so badly to kiss her but he was “germy”, constantly looking after her (her spiked drink in the club), letting her paint his nails and cherish her little gifts (rice animals, strawberry hair tie) without considering them demeaning to his masculinity, asking for permission again to kiss her in the club (“wanna hold on to me?”) and backing away when she asked him to stop with no need to appologize for setting a boundary, supporting her in the confrontation with the thugs on Ares Street and again the worry they might have hurt her… I could go on and on… I’m just waiting for Poppy to realize that Tora searched for her all over town, and that he came to find her without receiving the texts. I am secretly hoping she gets to say to Julri something along the lines “Yeah, I’ve met someone in the city and he’s a thousand times the man than you are, you fkin piece of trash!’ and Tora overhears her. That would be EPIC! I do believe she can fight her battles alone, but how sweet would it be if Tora would take this asshole off her back in one deadly stare or even a bloody punch? Julri screams abuser to me and Tora knows very well how it feels like to deal with one ("Who did this to you, Bobby?"). Whatever the outcome, I’m here for this, gripping the edge of my seat and bracing myself for the emotional whiplash of the next episode. Also, LaRosa and Darleen, you famous girls! So frickin happy right now! How cool is that garage? I bet it has kinky art plastered on the walls inside, amirite? And I bet the leader of the LaRosa Gang is a gorgeous fuckin woman who takes no shit from anyone and rules the thugs with an iron fist! I bet all my tinfoiling hats on this!

More thoughts after sleeping on it and reading other comments... Tora has done the absolute opposite of every awful thing Poppy has ever mentioned or remembered Julri doing. - He loved her rice ball, thought it was cute, actively wanted to show it off, and even asked her to make him another one. - He's told her she's pretty, while she's been completely dressed down, with no makeup on, and has never asked her to dress up for him. He even dressed down for her instead, to keep her from feeling self conscious. - He let her meet his friends (I mean, meeting the Quincess was kind of an accident, but besides that)... even putting his own discomfort aside for that night so that she could have fun and a proper celebration with new people. - When he was hurtful to her, he manned up and apologized for it and let her be as angry as she needed to be and say what she needed to say to him in order to feel better. And his only specific grumpiness was about her climbing on him and stressing him out. - He's never pressured her for anything. He said, "Sleep with me," but only once and more as a flirt. Every time she has ever told him "no," "wait," or "stop," he's done so immediately, regardless of what he wants himself. And even more than that, Tora has given Poppy support to be a stronger person, stand her ground, and live her life how she wants without apologizing for it. "Will [I] ever stop running? And how...?" Do you guys think psychologically abusive/manipulative people, like Julri, know what they’re doing or are their minds just really effed up? Like is it pre-meditated? Do they sit there and plot, “If I say this, then she’ll react this way,” etc. Or do their messed up heads truly believe these awful thoughts about the other person? I grew up watching this type of behavior (mainly fueled by alcoholism), and I honestly don’t think the person in my household is that good of a tactician. And how do they all come up with the same tactics? Like is there an assh0le convention of which Julri is the leader where they all come together and exchange tips and tricks? J/k, but for real, isn’t that weird how they veer towards the same tendencies? I am in no way trying to justify or defend this type of behavior, I’m just always curious about human behavior and this continues to baffle me.

I know this is not going to be popular, and I absolutely believe Julri is a gaslighting asshole who should change his name to Jerkri so the whole world is aware of what he is, but he was not completely wrong in something he said. He accused Poppy of staying with him because she was scared of being alone, and she also said just about as much the night of the party. That does NOT make it OK that he’s treated her like shit and was emotionally abusive. I doubt he even knows what love is- more like an ego trip to that he was able manipulate someone he had a crush on for so long, as a way of taking back his own power. But having said that, what I’m concerned about is that he is going to get under Poppy’s skin and guilt her into giving him another chance. I really hope she holds on to the strength she has shown so far and walks (or runs) the hell away from him. And as much as I would LOVE Tora to show up and pound Julri into the freaking ground, I would rather see Poppy do it. She has already demonstrated what a tough hamster she can be when necessary. I want Julri to see that as well, and have absolutely no doubt in his mind that Poppy’s rejection of him is HER choice, not because someone stepped in to save her.

I think its kind of funny that she looks at the scooter and wonders if it belongs to little Billy. Seems fitting in my mind….) Seeing him generates a pit in my stomach but I also have hope because Poppy has her scooter. Julri the nightstalker — How…. Huh… What? Where did he come from? Has he been patrolling the streets in anticipation of Poppy’s arrival? Did he ask Darleen to tell him once Poppy arrives for the scooter? Does he have frickin’ Find my Friends on Poppy’s phone? What a creeper….. I do have to agree with Erdene that Julri is dangerous. Yes, clans are dangerous too but a jealous, possessive ex can be reallllllly bad news. I think Julri senses that Poppy is pulling away from him, so he’s trying all the dirty tricks in his toolbox. For the most part, its HORRIBLE LIES. As larosamorada eloquently pointed out, THIS IS NOT LOVE. People that care about you, don’t use your insecurities against you. This whole conversation sent a shiver up my neck (not in a good way). Abusers are the most dangerous when their victims try to leave, so I think its very smart of Poppy to not hurl insults at Julri right now. So came back after I've slept on it. And holy shit the conversation between Julri and Poppy gets me more and more heated the more I read it! 😤😡 The fact that he kicks her when she's down makes my f*cking blood boil 💢🔪 Also, and I feel this cannot be said enough, Poppy is such a QUEEN 👑 👸🏻 in these scenes! As @larosamorada mentions too, I feel like a lot of people look down on her for the decisions she makes without realizing that she's human and has flaws just like everybody else. As Jacob (my new favorite man) points out to Erdene, she's a capable adult and actually makes some pretty good intelligent, rational decisions in high stakes situations. Even Damien points out at one point to Gyu that she doesn't seem very mature. Well these few scenes proved EERRRYYYBBOODDYY wrong right here cause not only does she stand her ground against her abuser (whose accusations against her get more and more ridiculous the entire time this dumpster fire of a conversation goes on) she does so with civility and respect which you can DAMN STRAIGHT BELIEVE I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE IF IT WERE ME IN THIS SITUATION. I'd be throwing fists and insults and screaming at the top of my lungs! 😤 The mere fact that she answered with a calm voice, asks all the right questions and doesn't play the blame game like this motherf*cker says so much about her regality as an individual. And though I want more than anything for this maggot to get a southpaw to the face courtesy of our little 🐹 I don't think it's going to happen. Cause Poppy's above that. Also I cannot wait for the suave, debonair Tora reveal to Julri 🙌😭 this mofo thought she'd be swept off her feet by some "slick city boy?" Little did he know not only was she swept off her feet she was swept off her feet and placed in a luxury sports car and served a gourmet sushi meal free of charge by said city boi 😋

More thoughts that keep spinning around in my brain... I feel like there are so many layers to Tora's outfit. I mean... figuratively speaking, but literally, too, kinda. 😅 But! First, he's trying to blend in. People would almost certainly still notice him, but dressed like this he'll be less conspicuous at least, with the college nearby, vs. looking like a thug in a flashy sportscar. Second, being that he was looking for Poppy's granny, he may also be trying to minimize the outward intimidation factor. The nurse saw him as a "dashing young gentleman." Going there in his normal clothes, or looking like he did back in Narin that morning, he probably would have raised some red flags for people there. Three, I absolutely believe he consciously made the decision with Poppy's well being in mind. If he'd rushed in dressed like a bodyguard instead of taking the time to pull his chameleon routine (my phone tried to make me say changeling, which honestly still works), he'd have put her more at risk by drawing attention to himself. Third, part b... I think maybe he dressed like the type of person he thinks Poppy deserves. Someone sophisticated and educated. Someone people see as a gentleman, instead of a street rat or scary thug. If that is the case, even a little, I think it's sweet but sad. Because he's so used to people only seeing/judging what's on the surface. But whatever the *actual* reason, I can't wait to see Poppy's reaction to this new, delicious package of his.

I enjoy that you don't rush Poppy thru her feelings. It's so liberating to see her process her past relationship while still managing to move on in a way that doesn't allow her to push her obvious emotional issues to the side. I don't know where you find the inspiration to write this so WELL but I can tell you as fellow writer I appreciate the time and thought you put into characterization.
