HNNNNG Lily you are amazing and this episode was just so- so- gaaaaaaaah. Of course THAT KISS, but Tora testing himself out of the lake when Poppy mentioned a spider had me rolling, haha. Such a big softie. This was a great chapter to showcase their relationship. Tora genuinely cares about Poppy (“fall in…” yeah buddy, we all know it, just admit it) and wants to protect her from his life, and he knows that means he has to come clean about everything. Even if it does mean that she’ll put space between them. Side note, Quincy in a cape and face mask is a whole mood. And then just how playful and comfortable they are with each other. He doesn’t hesitate to close his eyes when she asks, and she doesn’t shy away when he pulls her in close. And then when he pulls a smooth and sexy move of flipping her on the bed and they just giggle. Ugh. Those intimate moments get me so much. I have to say, the panel when Tora says “go inside” might be the most beautiful shot of his face Lily has drawn. Like. Holy cow. His eyes and his hair and just his expression are gorgeous and you can FEEL his emotions for Poppy in it. And then we got DEM CALVESSSSS and the whole tattoo!! And checkered smiley face boxers, hehehe. And Poppy looking so cute in his big T Rex shirt. These two have me so weak.

Tora was so vulnerable to Quincy in this episode. I don’t think this is something they’ve discussed much, but the “what if I do fall in love?” Question is one they’ve individually considered and can recognize in the other. Or possibly speaking in reference to plans to end the mafia life, that maybe they didn’t have completely pieced together yet, so we’re still working towards…I’m assuming these boys have come to some personal decisions that align, but maybe haven’t been explicitly discussed. So Quincess recognized the absolute seriousness of what Tora was implying by saying he needed to tell poppy everything. He was probably just relaxing and writing some poppy Tora smut, and now big bro took it to the next more dangerous level. This could go on forever cuz I’m just rambling at this point, but just the amount of emotions I can feel for these characters, it’s part of what I love about MPL.

The part where he said he wanted her to be able to make an informed decision 🥲 he wants her to see all of him and more importantly he wants her to choose/accept all of him. Don’t you dare make us wait a few more weeks Tora! We, the fandom, are living for this sexual buildup, don’t you postpone the glorious moment we’ve been waiting years for. He’s talking to the bunny lamp 🤣 I never would have pictured Tora as someone who would do that, he’s very controlled and I feel like when he’s in his world that action would seem pointless. I think it speaks to his level of comfort in her home that he’s doing something as silly as talking to the lamp and calling it names (*snicker* buttface). “Fall in-“ this part reminds me of that moment when he was standing outside her building after their dinner and had that “ba-dum” heart clutch moment. That shock that he thought of her and he felt something. Now he’s talking about her to a bunny lamp and the sudden realization just steals his words. Yes, Tora you’re falling in love! SHE IS WEARING HIS SHIRT!!!! 😍😍😍 Not just any shirt, the t-Rex shirt! I love how he tries to talk and gets hoarse 😏 seeing her in his clothes is definitely having some affect on him 😉 Her wanting to play with his eyelashes and he just lets her ☺️ I loved that moment on the stairs! Remember how shocked he was to have her touch him so gently? His confusion? Looking back at that scene and then looking at how he is now, the difference her presence in his life has made in him is beautiful. Now he doesn’t even hesitate to let her touch him. He welcomes this affection she shows him. Then there’s the times in the past when Tora has hesitated to touch Poppy, always being careful to respect her boundaries and not make her uncomfortable. Almost afraid to touch her at times. At this point, he feels confident that she won’t be upset or uncomfortable with his touch. He’s still maintaining the same level of respect for her and doesn’t touch her inappropriately, but he no longer hesitates to reach out and touch her, or to hold her. They have an intimacy between them that isn’t just a sexual energy but also a strong affection towards each other. I see this end scene of them on the bed becoming almost a mirror of them on the dock earlier but with the roles reversed. On the dock, Tora was laying there feeling vulnerable and Poppy kissed him to reassure him. Now I think he’ll hover over her, staring into her eyes and she’ll realize the position they’re in and then we’ll have Poppy feeling vulnerable and Tora will give her the same reassurance she gave him on the dock. A kiss. And then…they’ll just barely start making out only to be rudely interrupted by “fuckin’ Pinky” (I laughed so hard when I saw that Tora actually named him that in the phone 🤣🤣🤣) I am so on edge about the alarm on Tora’s phone. We know Gyu was on guard duty and now we’ve got this unusual movement. We don’t see any messages (yet) from him warning Tora that something’s happening so he either hasn’t noticed, maybe they went in while he was walking around the building or whoever it was has incapacitated him somehow, knock out the guard would be a logical first step for a break in. I hope he’s ok. It’s a good thing Poppy isn’t there though. I wonder if they’re breaking in to go after her not knowing she isn’t home or did they know she wasn’t home and broke in to look around while she was gone? 🤔 considering Quincey and Tora think her life is in danger, it would make sense that someone broke in with the intention of harming and/or taking her. I look forward to Poppy and Tora sharing sleeping space. Big question, will Tora sleep on the bed with Poppy or sleep on the floor? Did I like this episode? Yes of course ! There is so much going on in it. I enjoyed hearing Tora's thoughts about her feelings for Poppy. It is clear that he does. He shows restraint and doesn't want to engage with her without telling her everything. On him, on his condition as a Vincent Balthuman watchdog and all the rest. It's so huge! If that doesn't show that he genuinely loves Poppy, I don't know what it is. Informing Quincey was obvious. Does this show a huge leap in the relationship between Poppy and Tora? I think so. And then, precisely ... there is Poppy. Our dear Poppy (whom I love her too!) The fact that she is wearing Tora's sweater means (to me) a lot! Again, this is a big step forward for her! And then the way she teases him ... Poppy walks forward and fumbles less and less. I believe she's ready to take Tora to the next level. Not necessarily sleeping with him, but having a real relationship. Both are on the same page tonight. These intimate moments are worth all the sexiest scenes on earth. I like it when the characters do introspections. When they reflect on themselves and their future. Poppy and Tora are still in the early stages and yes, it's not going to be easy for them. There are so many obstacles! Because of Tora's mafia life, but also the dangers that await Poppy. Because of Gil, the notebook and maybe other things as well ... I feel that it is moving. And maybe the next few episodes will be more eventful. In any case, one thing is certain, it is that I am very curious as to the continuation. You did a wonderful job again, Lily. I still haven’t recovered, I am just laying in bed still thinking about the beauty that was this episode after dreaming about possible outcomes and I’m just so excited for the next steps. I have a feeling we’re going to get a bit of suspense, but knowing Poppy is safe with him may give him some reason to not full blown panic, and Gyu is too loved, I doubt he’d be killed off so suddenly, so I think everything will be alright, but we may get more info on what’s going on in the dark world. And we may have some fear for certain characters. And I guess I’m a little worried that Pinky hasn’t arrived yet (since he was supposed to be there in 3 hours?) And I think sooner rather than later Tora is going to start spilling the beans about everything. As much as I want them to get busy, I actually need them to get everything out in the open. For me the “stay up all night talking about everything and anything” is the first intimate step, I’ve always had it with my best relationships (not just romantic ones, but friendships too) and while I don’t think Poppy knows the full extent, cuz she can’t possibly, I know the girl is smart, and knows there’s a dark side Tora has had to hide from her, and I think she’s not going to be shocked. Unless Tora pulls something out that even im not expecting within the realm of Mafia life, which since I’ve never been in it, I wouldn’t be surprised, but I don’t think finding out he’s killed people is going to be a shock to poppy at all…but idk. She knows he’s not evil, despite how scary he can make himself look, he’s been nothing but sweet and gentle with her, so there’s no way he’s bad, just had a horrible lot in life. And I am just so sjudhdjskskdbfjsjsjd I love this story so much.

I think the confrontation with Potato Peen aka Jerki aka Asswipe Cheater pants (credit to begonia_reads for the fitting names) has really boosted Poppy's confidence in herself. As a result, she's showing signs that she's ready to move things along with Tora: -She wants to feel more sexy in front of Tora by wearing something a bit more revealing. -She admits that she wouldn't mind it if Tora was more expressive about his own desire for her. -She wants to learn more about Tora despite Tora telling her that she wouldn't have liked him in the past. She does back off at first courtesy of Potato Peen's mindfuckery but Tora is able to snap her out of it pretty quick. -When Tora teases her that he needs a bribe before he opens up to her, she doesn't even wait for him to tell her what kind of bribe he wants and kisses him without hesitation (she does show a bit of embarrassment afterward but gets over it pretty quick). -She doesn't stop Tora when he becomes more bold with kissing and touching her in the water. This is a step up from their mini make-out session at The Fallen, when she pulled away from him after just a few kisses. -When Tora asks her if she wants to go inside, she nods and brings him to her bedroom. This doesn't at all mean that she's ready to sleep with him but (to me anyway) as an adult, your bedroom is a fairly private area and for her to invite Tora in may be symbolic of her desire step things up. -She's not at all phased when he throws her onto the bed, instead she's laughing and obviously having a good time. She knows that she can trust him and that if she tells him that she's uncomfortable, that he'll stop. Hopefully, him telling her about Goliath and the notebook won't de-rail their train to boyfriend/girlfriend relationshipville. Props to Tora though for wanting to be upfront and honest with her and risk losing her rather than keeping her in the dark. Lastly, I don't know why everyone is so worried about Gyu. Our little cinnamon roll is safe and sound in the guard shack and nothing bad will ever happen to him, right Lily?....RIGHT LILY??? (okay, maybe we should be worried 😰)

I definitely agree. I think this is a Golden opportunity to keep the intimacy going. And maybe it'll just be a beautiful night of enjoying each others company, playful kisses, and they fall asleep in each others arms. I'd be so happy with that honestly! And I'm glad Tora is going to be honest with her... although he did say he might wait a while longer, but I think he is just scared over realizing he feels that way about her. Who knows how it will go. With Pinky arriving at least he will have back up to handle stuff with her apartment and keep her safe. But I'm drooling for the next episode already! Came back to say it seems like it’s taking forever for us as readers, but for them it’s only been about three weeks since they first met! Says a lot about their chemistry and how the right circumstances can really pull two people together. I love how they’ve turned this corner from being hesitant friends who kiss sometimes, under flimsy excuses like “favors” and “rewards systems” and “buzzed kissing” and “thugs were after me,” to unapologetically wanting to be together and making the active choice to take things further. Ah, I remember those early days with my now husband… 🥰😍 I love all the Secret Gardens, but I especially loved #126 for the same reasons Lily stated - it feels intimate, like nobody’s watching and they’re just fully immersed in the moment with each other. And I hope we get that same feeling from their first time (whenever it happens).

I have to say this episode has left me feeling like I’m floating on cloud nine all day. I’ve only read it 3 times because life got in the way. And there was a huge gap between the 1st and 2nd reading because I knew after the 1st that I needed to sit by myself and just lose myself to it a little bit more. I can count on one hand how many stories has left me feeling such a giddy high and MPL delivers on that promise every week. But there’s something about this episode that has just shot me past the moon. It was a hugely delicious start to it too. Tora’s hold on Poppy and the way she was holding him instantly gave me butterflies. I can’t stress enough how much I love their growing connection, how incredible it is to see them come so far and with Poppy’s ease to Tora. Which is what makes his internal thoughts that much stronger later on...but I’ll come back that. How, HOW are they holding a semi focused conversation right now? Because I feel like I’m melting reading this and Poppy just reels off this family tree history and I’m trying to focus on her words but my eyes keep going elsewhere and I’m just like, whaaaa? Like that look in Tora’s eyes is panty melting! And that leg grab! *faints* We get ALL the delicious touches today! And it’s an amazing distraction because I really REALLY have to try and focus on what’s being said, but DAMN Poppy! Those glorious boobs are about to be all up in Tora’s business. Go for it, woman! He. Licked. Her. Neck. Holy Hera, Lily you are NOT fucking around this episode!!! I am on my knees worshipping your storytelling and art and HE LICKED HER NECK and the look on her face is just, MA’AM! *takes a deep breath* Goddamnit I love these two. *swoons* OK, need to acknowledge this family history now I’ve calmed my blood pressure down. So, I’ve always stood back a little when it comes to Poppy’s mum, not jumping to too many conclusions about her. But I’m genuinely surprised that her granny is her mother’s mum. And even before granny said, “Is it time to let her know,” in episode 69, the second I read this news, I couldn’t push the thought back anymore that Poppy’s mum very likely is clan affiliated. That must be a lot for her granny to know her daughter left her grandchild behind. That’s a lot to live with, and supporting her son in law too. And I’m flashing back to Poppy’s birthday and her saying, “And mom...Hope she’s doing well. Wherever she is, now.” My gut is telling me Poppy knows a hell of a lot more than granny realises. And as I said before she’s a smart woman, I highly doubt she’s not done some digging. Personally if I had my mum up and leave me at such a young age, when I got to the right age to look I would be absolutely be hunting her down in any way I could. Maybe not to confront her, but just to see where she’s been. No matter how painful the truth may be, I’d want some answers and closure. Obviously Poppy isn’t me, but I suspect with the way she phrased that about her mum in episode 39, that she found something she knew wasn’t safe. And obviously we have that mafia comment from her in the previous episode, so the dots are definitely starting to connect. The question is to what. We could be way off base. Could be right on the money. The fun part is taking these tidbits and creating the theories and watching the story unfold. So to sum that up, yes I’m full aboard the, Poppy’s mum is likely mafia train. Seems I’m late to the station, but better late than never! Back to the story and I would like some of that strength and speed that Tora has to have gotten them out of that lake as fast as he did one handed. Because DA-YUM!! Perfect shot of levity to what was an intense moment between them. *Takes in a deep breath, because Tora in nothing but a tank and hilarious boxers is setting me ablaze* What a sight to behold this man is!! Those tattoos in all their colourful and detailed glory made my jaw hit the deck hard. He is a literal work of art and I have spent far too much time just gaping at him in wonder. Can we just have endless shots of him like this? I LOVE his hair the way it is too. He looks vulnerable, and I just want to enjoy these moments with them while we have them. Oh that phone call to Quincey...tiger, you’re slaying me. I Stan his honesty and wanting full transparency to what his life is about. To have zero secrets between them, to give Poppy the CHOICE before they both fall deeper into what this is. He knows the shift between them has come. He can deflect and say he doesn’t want to be dick led, but gah that moment he acknowledges he’s falling in....love? Oh tiger, so are we every single week. And me thinks waiting a couple weeks to tell her won’t be an option with that alert going off on your phone... And back to what I said earlier about Poppy’s ease with him...it’s interesting to see Tora suddenly thinking of putting on the brakes. Up until now that’s been Poppy. And now Poppy is deciding to take that step forward with him - we presume - Tora is seeing the bigger picture and feeling the nerves of what it could mean to really take that leap with Poppy. The dangers it could put her in. So I wonder just how much, up until this point, Tora thought he had a chance with her? I love the mirroring with these two. Side note - So Tora was always going to bunk with Poppy, huh? Didn’t know granny’s room was an option for someone to use until pinky came into it. We see you, Pops. Get yo mans! And Tora’s face as he makes that connection too...Welp! Has bunny lamp got a nose bleed? *cackles* I adore his thoughts, I didn’t realise how much I missed them. Poppy is totally doing things to me this episode. How hot does she look in his jammies?! How many fantasies has Tora had of this exact moment? Could his voice betray him anymore?! And Poppy just strolls straight up to him, looking amazing and confident and the position of them both, my heart is RACING! His hands go to her instantly, grounding him. And that beautiful smile on her face is making me swoon so freaking hard. The reference to the stunning episode of them on the chasing after chasing Mr Lam made me gasp! It’s one of my favourite scenes ever. The way she reaches out and tucks his hair for him. She had no idea who he was at the time other than the dude who snapped a risqué photo of her, but also saved her from falling out of a tree. And yet she’d seen enough of him by that point to know he wasn’t as necessarily bad as she thought. She was caught up in his orbit at the time and now she is again and I just want to fall down and cry happy tears. My minds nonsense right now, I’m just jumbled bits of words. That little blush from him! And then the swooping to the bed and teasing and fucking hell I’m dead. I’m done! It’s never going to be enough, is this what addiction feels like? Because I feel antsy I have to wait a week. But so fucking happy that they’re just...just...THIS and Poppy looks so relaxed and happy and now his phone has beeped and CLIFFHANGER! See, nonsense in my brain. Pure nonsense. But before I forget, can we please acknowledge Quincey not only grasping that Poppy means a whole hell of a lot to Tora, but that he wears nothing but a CAPE while writing?! This man! I need him in my life right now. That’s a screensaver if ever I saw one. Lily this episode was pure perfection! Stunning in every single detail, the emotions that poured from it has left me feeling so light and happy and I’m going to run with that for as long as I can. Exquisite! P.S. Please be safe Gyu! And although I don’t think Poppy is going to be happy about not being told about the motion sensor - can’t blame her! - I don’t think she’ll stay mad about it for long. I hope she’d see the logic and protection of it, especially with now knowing he’s in the mafia. But I don’t think it will de rail them too much. They’re a work in progress, bumps in the road are going to keep coming. And good opportunity for her to get her mini hamster claws out and show him just how tough she is. ☺️

Outside of the obvious Poppy and Tora moments in this eppy, that are giving me LIFE btw, I have to bring up the two other little drops that our creative master Lily sprinkled in the dialogue like a sly little fairy. 🧚 1. Tora tried cutting his eye lashes off when younger. Oof. Was he tortured as a kid because of his gorgeous eyes, so wanted to get rid of them? He drops these nonchalant breadcrumbs about his childhood, and though he seems stoic, I can’t help but think his moments of rage are results of having to bottle up and stuff down these memories for survival. Poor baby Tora.😢 2. Poppy’s dad worked at a computer software company. Tying that with the other things we’ve found out in the Moonbright Arc; Poppy has a very nice home in her name being rented out to a family, and Granny is keeping a secret about her past. Hmmm. My theory is there is a secret inheritance from Dad that they’ve kept quiet until Poppy is of age to claim it without interference. Perhaps to keep Mom from trying to come back and get ahold of it? I’m not convinced Mom is clan yet. 🧐 Just two random thoughts outside the brain melt we all had with this gorgeous episode. Thanks, Lily, for gifting us again with your radiant talent. 💖

He wants her to be fully eyes wide open, he's hoping it means nothing will change and she'll still want him, but he needs to be 1000% sure she knows what being with him means. It's all or nothing, the good and the bad. The fact that Damien is in Tora's phone as "fucking pinky" killed me. Is anyone in Tora's phone with their actual name? Is it a way for him to protect those people he cares enough about to give then an alias in case he ever getting arrested again, or in case detective Lane ever asks him anything? Tora's getting all in his head again, arguing Seth the rabbit lamp, when Poppy stood strolls in looking like a snac IN HIS JAMMIES!!! We see that arm blocking out view Tora. WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HIDING! Your voice crack tells us ALL we need to know sir. Poppy casually giving Damien Granny's room, Tora perked right up. ONLY ONE BED TROPE HERE WE COME 🚂🚃🚃 ALL ABOARD! The causal intimacy here, he just reaches out to her, she's caressing his face, the nose boop! I don't think Tora has ever had anyone boop him before! And yes Poppy, PLEASE TEASE HIM MORE! Make him show you how he uses that stick 😏 😘🥵 I am LIVING for this banter, they're so relaxed with each other, they're having such a *normal* moment. I can't believe it's all about to be RUINED by the dang motion sensor!! I want Gyu to be ok, our sweet little bean, but cock blocked by the alarm! NOOOOOO!
