This episode was so cute. Not even mad about no sexy times. I'm really happy they both took such big steps with the honesty. They're both upfront that they're not ready to share every detail but they still want to be vulnerable. I love the way they're getting closer and how they're making very intentional decisions about it. It's not just this accident out of circumstance. It's circumstance combined with their own desires and efforts. I mean Tora even talked about meeting her granny, how sweet! Also, I'm so happy we got to see more of Poppy's mom. That little sneak peek into her past was nice. I'm excited to learn more. Especially because the mom looked so emotionless. She must have left for a very specific reason that was possibly to protect Poppy? I know she looked very cruel but that could be a cover to make it "easier".

This episode was so sweet! I’ve seen a facial expression on Tora that I’ve never seen before. He looked scared and very vulnerable when talking to poppy about trust and possibly a relationship. Tora always seems so confident in himself and always hides his true emotions. I was just as shocked as poppy when he admitted he didn’t understand and he looked so unsure and vulnerable. Poor uncle Tora looked terrified! Poppy is seeing a side of Tora that nobody has ever seen before and she’s a little nervous but it’s so cute. Watching them fumble into a relationship it definitely worth the coins. Great work Lily!

It never surprises me when Tora has doubts, but I forget sometimes that Poppy is dealing with a lot of demons too. The fact that they're learning to lean on one another is amazing. Most of it isn’t a surprise....we’ve suspected for a while that Tora having a love interest would be dangerous. But it’s still so sad to hear out loud. How big is the Moonbright Forest? Is Damien someplace in the woods shrieking at frogs and large spiders? I feel like that’s pretty likely and I need to see this. 😂😂😂😂😂 I’m curious what the drive back will be like. And when he realizes Poppy is starting to trust him; "Me?" Just... 😭🙌 I love how well Lily's art captures their emotions! Also, Poppy bawling her eyes out trying to get her mom to stay really broke my heart 💔 But the double squishy faces was just the emotional balm we all needed! ❤️ Cutest panel ever! ❤️😼🐹❤️ It's so incredible to see these two navigating these exchanges and "firsts" together. Trying to make sense of everything, finding ways to communicate and be more open. Tora is completely out of his comfort zone too! It's all new territory for the both of them, and it's just very relatable to see them trying to let the pieces fall in place and process everything. It was also a really nice parallel/symmetry to the previous extended Secret Garden scene. 💕 Poppy is sexually inexperienced and was a bit confused as to how she should react to everything, trying to process what was happening (🍆🍑💦) as it was all new to her, but she knew she wanted what Tora was giving her and was wondering how to ask for more, how to express what she was feeling, maybe get a little guidance? And today, they kinda switched places a bit. Poppy took the lead in opening up about trust and her emotional headspace and Tora was the one trying to make sense of what was being exchanged, asking for a little guidance with the "you'll have to spell that out more clearly for me" and just as Tora knew how not to overwhelm Poppy much and kinda offered a little space to breathe, Poppy knew the same, and quickly jumped to ease things out a bit, give a bit of breathing room for things to settle. ❤️ I am now curious to know the extent of the responsability he mentioned and what taking full responsibility for everything really entails in his world... But on a different note, once again, Quincey showed us what a great friend he is to Tora!😭😭😭 We know he can get carried away with the expectations of romance and just wants to see his bro happy - not too mention he just can't resist meddling! But here he is putting his author's brain and his own excitement with this new romantic development aside to make sure Tora is aware of the decisions he's making, being conscious about it and choosing the best path of action for himself and for Poppy. The bromance is definitely the side ship! ❤️❤️❤️ Excited for the next chapters! 😍

Tonight really takes the cake for inducing horniness, anxiety, and emotional sincerity all in one episode (what else is new 😅😅😅) and I am a badump-ed mess (badump can be a verb and adjective, my mind will not be changed on this 😂). One thing that really stood out to me in this episode is how Tora is forced to choose between Poppy (staying with her for the night) or his mafia duties (leaving to check on her apartment). It reminds me in season 1 of the dream alluding to him having to choose between Poppy or his mafia life as he knows it. Then there’s also his phone call where our beloved caped superhero explicitly states Tora’s life would be a direct threat towards Poppy. Our dear Poppy is working so hard to regain her sense of trust, and while it’s heartwarming she finds it easy to start trusting Tora, I hope it doesn’t come crumbling the more she learns about his life. For tonight at least Tora is trying to choose both by taking Poppy with him to keep her safe and check on her apartment, but I am so anxious about the possible danger awaiting them. 🥺🥺🥺 THEN WE HAVE A LOVE BOMB that I’m confident wiped out the entire fandom. I am dying to read everyone’s analysis about this. 💜💜💜 I am also SO curious about Tora’s line on how he will take responsibility for everything….will we get flashbacks on how Tora gained his reputation perhaps?? We have only seen glimpses into the mafia side of Tora and it feels like the story is building to something big here. I’m pretty sure everyone is a ball of nerves for Gyu right now so pls don’t let there be a scratch on our boy’s head. 😤

Phew! I’ll need some time to process all of this. So so good! Tora did not freak out about the alarm, probably because he knows Poppy is safe by his side. But it seems that Gyu not picking up is what makes him want to return 😭 Please be okay. I am so glad he is choosing to take Poppy with him. And this open talk about trust they’re having?? Promises, acknowledgement that they’ll be having certain conversations? It makes me so happy! And I really hope that they will! Somehow I’m at peace with the interruption of sexy times. Am I the only one who is totally happy with their relationship's pace? I think it would be way too early to take things further. Poppy is "already" 21 and still a virgin after being in a long relationship (that just ended). Clearly having her first at the time when she is ready for it, is important for her. Aside of the time (only few weeks passed since they met) I don't feel that their relationship is that deep yet where she would feel comfortable going all the way. Both in this episode and in the last ones it feels that she gets super talkative when the situation is turning very intimate, trying to distract herself, as well as Tora. To me this feels: I like what is happening but I'm also scared a bit. And these nuances that make so easy to relate what is happening on these strips so relatable and feel so...real. PS: extra kudos to Lily for letting us read their thoughts!

I’ve really been loving these past few episodes! I think their time in Moonbright has been the first time since they’ve been crashed together that they are making intentional decisions about involving each other in their lives. As if this is THEIR choice now and it’s awesome to see! Which leads me to believe Poppy may have overheard Tora’s phone conversation and that would make her choice to go back with him and open up about her trust issues incredibly significant and monumental for her! Such great character development for both of them! Hope Gyu is okay! Once again another amazing episode I felt the Mom leaving seen on a level, the heartbreak was palpable!

I still need to put my episode thoughts down in writing, but I just had this side note thought to everything else... I just have this future thought of Gyu--who, even if he's hurt, I'm counting on still being alive--saying something to Poppy--who is maybe being hesitant regarding Tora and some of his past she's learned about--about why he owes his life to Tora and Quincey. Maybe not going into too many specifics, but generally, Gyu giving Poppy a different perspective into the struggles Tora has faced. Because, honestly, Tora is probably harder on himself than anyone. He's already shocked at Poppy growing to trust him more easily, and he likely doesn't feel like he deserves her caring about him. But leave it to someone like Gyu to highlight for her the difficult decisions Tora has had to make while trying to stay alive and look out for his men/the people he cares about. /end introspection

I just love them so much. Both of them genuinely as people are just so kindhearted, warm and they just draw people in. They have been through their own traumas but still put others before themselves. And now this time, they are drawn to each other! Tora is falling in love 🥺🥺 Poppy is starting to trust… it is just a beautiful story of people discovering who they can truly be themselves with. Tora is fighting for that chance because he’s never had it before and honestly either has Poppy who had to run from her hometown to not be consumed by that asshole who shall not be named. So come what may (if anyone knows the movie/musical I just referenced you are a God LOL) Tora’s open communication with Poppy and Poppy’s determination to see Tora for who he really is, is what will continue to make their relationship thrive! 🥺♥️♥️

After reading the episode several times, reading everyone else’s comments and making my own cheeky interjections, I have thoughts on virginity, readiness, trust, the toll abusive relationships take on us and how we try to heal as individuals. While I know the word “virginity” can mean something different for each person, my assumption is that we’re using the popular definition as never having had M/F penetrative sex. Without a constant inner monologue and flashbacks from Poppy, it’s not 100% clear what her experience with intimacy is. We know she wasn’t ready to go “all the way” with Julri, but there could have been other acts that she tried or was coerced into 😔. Or she could be completely untouched and everything is new with Tora, which is my guess after seeing her thoughts on the last SG. That being said… I don’t think everyone is scared and hesitant their “first time,” and readiness is based on more than just how long or how well you know the other person. Could be an impulsive heat-of-the-moment, or a conscious decision made in the light of day. I also don’t think “first times” have to be magical and special - that’s too much pressure and sets impossible expectations for a person’s sex life, which evolves as you get older, the more sex and/or partners you have. And sometimes, with the right person and moment, it just all clicks and you find that things happen out of the order you’d expect them to! And I don’t think there’s any universal “right” order, only what feels right for you and your partner. Poppy could easily be fully ready with Tora, even if she doesn’t know very much about him. I think she was in episode 76, and I think so based on several reasons: hearing her SG thoughts, how she came out in his shirt with no bra (“pants” still up for debate 😉) and immediately stood between his legs to touch him, how she alludes to them sharing a bed. But, she very much could have changed her mind once things got heated in this most recent episode, especially after Poppy says she was worried about Julri slinging mud at Tora and when she jumps so quickly on the interruption of his phone. And I hope everyone here knows… it’s OK to change your mind at any point along the way. Poppy admits to trusting Tora and hoping he won’t take it for granted. Up until now, she was consistent about pushing Tora away when things got too heated and she didn’t feel ready, and because he always respected her when she did, I think that really deepened her trust, which definitely adds to her readiness to go further. But I think it also deepened his trust of her - if she consistently sets boundaries, he knows she means it when she doesn’t pull away. He can trust her to tell him if he goes too far, and that opens him up to know that he can tell her if he changes his mind and she’ll respect that. Poppy has deep scars from Julri, we know that. He took away her power for six long years through neglect and emotional abuse. She is learning to take it back, by moving to Narin City without him, by not allowing him to gaslight her about his cheating, blocking him from her life, and standing up to him face-to-face. And now she has the power to decide (or not) to give her trust and share her body with Tora, a person she shares a deep connection and crazy chemistry with. It’s significant that she’s making all these strides in Moonbright, a place she has mixed associations with. It’s home, where she’s in her element, but also where her mom left, her dad died, and Julri had his claws in her. Still waters run deep. Poppy is very good at playing innocent and withholding her thoughts. Without Lily throwing us a bone, we don’t know her thoughts and motivations and can only go on what’s shown. But whatever it is, I believe in Poppy and Tora, and that despite how scared I am of what’s to come with his role in the mafia and what Quincey is warning Tora about… I think they’ve set this good foundation to make things work, even if it’s bumpy. I think she already has a mafia connection and knows more about it than she’s given credit for, and it could be she was going to descend into that world with or without Tora, so it’s better that they’re together while it’s happening. Godspeed, you two.

Loved, loved, LOVED this episode! So many little “aha” moments to savor. And the intimacy! Not just the delicious, slow burn physical intimacy, but the emotional intimacy they shared was amazing. A few moments that really stood out to me: 1. I chuckled at Poppy’s backhanded compliment about his “stinky” sweatshirt; but on my second read through, I realized what she’s really saying before she backpedals is that he makes her feel safe and comforted. Probably something Tora has never expected anyone to say or feel about a man who has been trained from childhood to hurt and intimidate others. 2. Poppy revealing a piece of herself that she’s never truly shown anyone before - she doesn’t trust people…and yet, she trusts him. This first time admission she shared with him speaks volumes about how much she respects him, and also reinforces her ability to read him so well. She can tell through his closed-off body language and forced humor that he’s beating himself up for having the audacity to ask her to trust him - something he likely feels undeserving and unworthy of. And she gifts him with a secret as reassurance it’s not because of him. 3. Tora’s shock at her admission that she trusts him. The pause in his gaze when that clicks for him is both a sad and warming moment. He thinks himself so unworthy, so dirty that being offered the gift of trust and friendship is something he ever expected to happen. 4. Tora’s use of humor and physical touch to recenter Poppy after she’s vulnerable with him. He wants her to know she turns him on, but the way she feels, what she needs is as equally important to him. That promise of talking more about her feelings and boundaries she’s trying to set is so damn sexy. Thank you so much Lily for yet another amazing episode! 😍😍

Poppy's trust issues are pretty evident in her actions. She doesn't think of herself as being dedicated and hardworking (the flashback of her dad) so her gungho approach to Getting Shit Done Herself is really just a defense/coping mechanism or result of not being able to rely on other people, not being able to trust people to do or follow through. The few times we've seen her rely on others to do something, it's been transactional. She can rely on them to do something because they want something in return, not because of any kind of trust: Tora, Benjamin, The Cabby, Mr Lam. It's been very quid pro quo, and absent of that, there's no real trust. So Poppy is telling him explicitly that she's going to listen to him, she's going to do take a risk and do something without any quid pro quo, no "I need a favor in return", nothing that truly guarantees that she won't be screwed over, just his word, just his own "honor" or character, and thats hella scary to Tora because he can't guarantee that she won't be screwed over, given his life and what he's involved in, he questions his own character and believes himself to be a bad untrustworthy kind of guy: the kind of guy that sets up motion detectors around her balcony, who snoops through her stuff at her house, who breaks into her place of employment to snoop through her stuff. On the flip side, Poppy has gone to the police about Tora once before and has been shown to struggle with what she would do if she was put in that position again. They both recognized that she was completely justified in doing so given the circumstances (the open shirt photo), but it's still a Trust issue for Tora. Can he trust her not to go the cops (for stalking) when he tells her the truth about everything? Can she trust that he was doing it for her safety without expecting anything in return? I think that's where the couple-y thoughts from Tora comes into play. If he's able to do things for her without expecting anything in return, and she's asking him blatantly to not take advantage of her putting herself and her faith in his hands, to trust him that what he's doing is for her benefit, not his; that there's no ulterior motive, that's taking it to a whole new level for Tora, something out of his usual character. Despite having never been in one, he recognizes that relationships are built on trust. How Poppy takes this revelation about everything will be interesting. Who knows, maybe she already found the notebook when she cleaned and organized the stuff on her desk before Gil went to grab reports on his first day back, and before Tora and crew broke in to find it. Maybe she's got the notebook in a safe place. Maybe she's the one whose had the notebook the whole time and Goliath was trying to get it when he called Tora for help (not help himself from direct mortal peril, but to help get the notebook back from a particular journalist in ). After all, how did her research papers get sandwiched between two pages of the notebook if they weren't already that way when she crashed over that rock? Journalists have been disappearing, perhaps over that notebook. Maybe Goliath was meeting with them to expose the figures in the notebook and was meeting with Poppy, another journalist, probably under Gil's assignment. They are a tabloid magazine after all. What else would Goliath be doing in Moonbright? Did Poppy get the notebook before the crash, before she caught Julri?

I'm back with a numbered list! 😀 this episode man.... 1. "Only ya uncle Tora" - and that face.... am I crazy or is Tora making "uncle" sexy... shit 🥴🥴🥴 2. "Just kiddin' sweetheart. I'm not a petty little bitch." - oh please, Tora! You were upset she called you "hey" in the ares street alley (ep59-61). You a petty ass man!! 🙄🙄🙄😂😂😂💕 3. *the rough and calloused hand slide* -- who else felt their own temperature rise and had shivers going up and down all over the place???? 🤯🥵🤯 my lord Poppy how are you keeping it together??👸 I would have been in such a daze, I dont think a fire alarm, let alone a buzzing phone would have taken me out of it🥵💗🥴 4. Pinky gets lost in a forest? 😂🤣 could this be a funny side story/fan fic? Lol I also find it interesting that Tora actually has his contact saved as "fucking pinky", which would imply he doesnt like him very much. And yet, out of all the thuglets he could have picked to help him protect Poppy, he asked Pinky. So although Tora is annoyed with him, Tora must trust him quite a lot. 🤔 makes me wonder what kind of.history these two have... or maybe it's because Pinky already has an inkling that Poppy is important to Tora (because of their interactions at the birthday party). So rather than clueing someone else into this, Tora went to Pinky.... 🧐🧐🧐🧐 5. "What if the shitbag comes over when I'm gone" -- Tora was probably referring to Julri here, but my tinfoil brain wants me to believe he could be referring to someone else (mafia related) that's after Poppy 🤔🤔 6. That rabbit --- throughout the rest of this scene, whenever we see the rabbit light they are being more being more open with each other. I still think this rabbit light represents earnestness.  Tora is about to tell Poppy why she needs to go back to Narin City with him and we see the rabbit in the corner, but then he holds back, looks away from her and asks if she can trust him. So when he looks away, we dont see the rabbit anymore and he dodges the subject. Poppy similarly looks away when she says she will go with him. Their body language underscores how they are not being forthcoming. So they are both hiding their gaze while they are hiding information. When that rabbit light comes back though, Tora realizes he needs to go back into work mode and Poppy opens up about her difficulty with trusting people. 7. The dresser -- I see another parallel here with Tora looking over the dresser at granny's house and when he was looking over the dresser at Poppy's apartment. Both times he's reminded that he has a job to do, and Poppy pulls him away from his thoughts. 8. Poppy's mom -- this was so heart wrenching 😩😩😩 uhh baby poppy, poor thing... she kept saying "I'll wear my helmet" as if it was her fault that her mom left.... No wonder adult Poppy thinks it's her fault and her responsibility when people are upset or leave 😭😭😭 her mom is dressed in an inconspicuous business suit and reading "Business times" instead of saying goodbye. It makes me think that her mom is focused on moving ahead in the business world and didnt have a hard time letting go of Poppy. Then again, maybe she just had a great poker face. It's always been a theme in MPL that things are not as they seem 🧐🧐🧐 9. "Me?" - I very vocally "AWWWWWWW"ed at this.... neither of them have to be alone anymore 🥺🥺🥺  I love how Poppy is standing on the bed now in this moment they are literally and emotionally on the same level 🤯🤯😭😭 So beautiful .... also: a man that is mature and secure enough in his masculinity to admit when he doesnt understand??? 😍😍😍😍 Poppy marry this dude PRONTO. You can figure out the mafia stuff later 😂 10. The face squish 😂 -- of course, Lily uses her genius to imply a double entendre in an innocent action.....  Poppy's lips are very conveniently placed, I have to say 😉😉😉 love it! Amazing! I honestly have to remind myself that I can reread the best episodes whenever I want, but there’s like 77 to choose from…but for real I feel like this is one of those episodes that reminds me there may be some stress and angst and anxiety and hard moments, but this is a romance, and they’re actually falling for each other. And this episode was so deep and heart felt and real and adorable and and and…I’m just so overwhelmed with how beautiful this WEBTOON is and I don’t know how each week I feel like I’ve found my new favorite episode and then I love the story more. And I don’t know how I could love it any more, and then Lily pulls magic out of her self somewhere and I just. I know that there are moments that I’m going to love more than this, but omg this episode was the best one yet. Tora has acknowledged his feelings and he wants to do the right thing and he doesn’t want to leave poppy just because he wants to be around her. He doesn’t care that he has to drive her two hours there and back in less than a day, he just wants her with him. And I also thinks he wants to be upfront with her about it being her apartment that he’s worried about, hw wants to tell her everything, but also doesn’t understand how to trust but he wants to trust her and wants her to trust him, and omg I cant {ugly sobs and rocks back and forth}

I love that Tora is aware of the fact that he tends to "think with his dick" and that he is able to show so much restraint even though he wants Poppy so much. It seems like, based on other episodes, he has struggled (and possibly still struggles) with self-control issues but, I think his willingness to consciously differentiate between his lustful impulses and what is actually beneficial to Poppy speaks volumes about his level of respect for her. He obviously wants to have a deeper connection with her, even if he doesn't know exactly what that would look like. I love watching them both venture into the unknown together, Poppy with physical intimacy, and Tora with emotional intimacy. They bring out the best in each other and I love to see it!!! Although I do want them to hook up, I absolutely love seeing their connection and relationship deepening (in the meantime I'll just ready some Secret Garden and fantasize about the day when it finally happens).

So this episode--this whole arc, really-- has been so great. Poppy is just so relatable. And the poor thing has been through so much. I felt that when she immediately panicked about the "Uncle Tora" thing. Instead of realizing he was referencing it playfully/teasingly. But lord, that look on his face. 🥵 I could feel *myself* going red. And his hand. Rough and calloused. Talk about toe curling. Mmn. Then there's so much that can be read into Poppy letting the phone interrupt. So, yes, I think she's more ready to be intimate with him than she has been, but her reaction to the buzzing phone isn't outward frustration or annoyance. It's also not flustered relief, either. It's more like... embracing an excuse to gather her nerves and willingness, while also being rational and reasonable. But the fact that she's aware enough of Tora and his phone--but not in a creepy stalkerish way--to me says that she's simply observant and aware of someone that she cares about. It's up there with picking up on likes and dislikes of someone without them telling you, just because you've spent enough time together. Then the notification itself and Tora's reaction to it. He holds the phone so the screen is shielded from her, then he gets up from the bed as he tries to figure out what's going on and how to deal with it, while keeping his back to her. He doesn't have a great poker face when it comes to Poppy, and he's really trying to never actively lie to her, so his body language is such that he's trying to shield her from the truth for as long as possible. Also, it's important to him that he made a promise to her and wants to keep it... but there's also that (understandable) bit of desire on his part. He wants to stay near her. And that bit really struck me. Poppy grounds him in a way that he hasn't specifically acknowledged out loud, but that we've seen repeatedly. He ran out of cigarettes on the drive to find her, because of his anxiety and worry. But with her next to him, he's been open and mostly relaxed, in a way that we haven't really seen him before. And he doesn't seem to have been itching for a cigarette. I suspect that if he left her behind and returned to Narin City on his own, he'd be stressed and grumpy and uptight for the entirety of their time apart, worrying about her and everything else at the same time. But if she goes with him, whether they spend the drive talking, or whether she falls asleep along the way, that's going to be one less worry for him to have on his mind, allowing him to focus on what needs to be done. Then--and I love this so much--he gets down on her level like he did with Quincey in the parking garage. He doesn't talk down to people when he's being earnest. He crouches down so that they can look each other in the eye. In my mind, it's his unspoken way of saying, "I give a shit about you, and what I'm saying is important." It also really struck me how he seemed to look over his shoulder at the rabbit before responding to her "Why not tell me now?" Recalling what he'd been thinking about before. His desire to be open with her, but moreso wanting to keep her safe. His "Do you trust me?" kind of caught my breath even before he acknowledged to himself how loaded a question that was. And then his immediate rephrasing. The first question while he's still looking away, then the second while looking her in the eye. That eye contact says, "I'm not just jerking you around here." This is important to him. Once again, he doesn't want to lie to her, but he also doesn't want to risk her safety with brutal honesty, either. Poppy's body language next speaks volumes, too, plus the way she phrases her response. Fingers flexing on her leg... she's anxious. Nervous about this. And she looks away from him as she answers. "I'll go back with you." Not, "yes, I trust you." Tora notices and, unsurprisingly, blames only himself. I can sort of feel him withdrawing mentally and emotionally a little. With the way he clenches his fist, then steps away from the bed to gather her things. And berating himself. "Shut up and get to work." I think Poppy realized his thought process, too. The way she responded had me mentally cheering. She stands up on the bed. This time, she's the one bringing herself up to his level, instead of staying curled defensively on the bed. Opening up to him and making sure he understands that her hesitation isn't his fault, but something she struggles with. And Tora's understanding is immediate. His body language is open, and the look on his face is more relaxed. "That makes two of us." One more thing in common. And Poppy's nervous expression falls away, too. She's also starting to use more "grown up" language with him now. "It sucks, doesn't it?" Not "it stinks" this time. Then the small bomb drop on him. And the fact that he responded out loud, "Me...?" Once again, she's surprised him. At Regina's Peak, she talked about his people skills and how he puts her at ease. And now she says it's becoming easier and more natural to trust him. He's so used to being ashamed of himself and to people cowering from or avoiding him, that he's come to feel like that's what he deserves. And Poppy is so afraid that he will break her trust now that he knows he has it. Bless both their damaged little hearts. They need each other more than they even realize. I know I've kinda lingered here for a while, but it honestly reminds me of the day on the roof. "She trusts you, but she's ready to run if you give her enough reason." And now it's more like, she's ready to *really* trust him, because he's given her enough reason. Okay, okay. Moving on. To Tora's stinky sweater. 😂🤣 I about died. I've been wondering if she'd ever come back to his smell like on the jacket. But that Guy Smell on a "borrowed" piece of clothing is a whole mood. Followed by the tension break of that face squish. 😂 And the flirting and the dimples. And then the return face squish. 🤣 Why are they so cute??? Then as if the rest of this episode weren't enough, Lily rounds it out by drawing us in for the kill. Tora's in trouble alright. And it's a four letter word. I'm willing to bet this is the first time in his life he's ever acknowledged that about someone or even come close to falling in love.

Y'all, the sex eyes Tora's giving Poppy at the beginning of this episode were giving me LIFE! Then to just bust her hamster balls about the uncle comment again 🤣🤣 he knows how to play a long game joke and I love it! He moves right on past that though and is reading Poppy's "all signals go" body language and then moves in for kiss and the caress under the shirt. Friends, I've never wanted another man's hands on me more than that moment. I'm a tactile person. I'm dying to know what his hands feel like. I knew we'd get cockblocked by the phone, but props to Poppy for noticing that it's a different vibrate pattern. I don't know that after 3 weeks with my husband I could have told you what his phone's vibrate pattern. Tora seems a little frustrated with his realization, and I can't blame him. Though poor Damien, that he was willing to just leave him outside or lost (as we found out later). But again, I get it-- boobs be like that. GYU PICK UP YOUR PHONE!!! SMOL BEAN PLEASE BE OK!!! But really, Tora wanting to keep Poppy close to protect her, but also because he just wants to be with her. It's so sweet. We've known and seen for a while that she makes him feel calmer, but he knows him being in her life puts her in the line of fire on so many fronts. The body language through the whole "do you trust me" exchange though. Lily--the micro-expressions, the body language, it's all *chef's kiss* you're truly a master! She's not closing herself off from him, but she's definitely feeling guarded with this sudden change in the mood. But he, as always, gets on her level and speaks to her eye to eye, stance pretty much as open as he can get. His body is screaming "TRUST ME PLEASE." I love that Poppy's confession about trust, she's getting up to his level. She's putting on her brave face and laying her cards on the table (at least the ones she's ready to share). Her childhood flashbacks her though nearly broke me. All those massive packed up suitcases. Ooof. That's a level of forethought and planning I hadn't considered of when Poppy's mom left. And the brazen departure in front of Poppy. This really just solidifies my personal theory that Poppy's mom was involved in clan business, but now I think the very intentional departure was as a way to at least protect Poppy. Along the lines of "If I hurt her bad enough, she'll never want to come looking for me." Haven't decided who I think is holding Poppy back from chasing after her, but my first thought was her dad, but on second reading I think might be Granny. There could be age lines on that arm. But only time and more flashbacks will tell. She's doing her best to open up to him, and his panic about only ever having one-night-stands is adorable. But YESSSS to clear communicating! He wants to know exactly what she means here. He wants no ambiguity, no room for misunderstanding. His face here is so earnest 🥺 and then she panics from the BIG EMOTIONS talk and casually admits he's never getting that shirt back lol The sex eyes are back, my thirsty friends! He knows what he's doing. And he knows he's got at least 8 or 9 minutes until Damien gets there. Whipping out that dimple. Sir, she's got your number! Two can play this squishy game! But I appreciate that he's not just ignoring her comments. Clearly she's got more on her mind, but with how quickly the mood of the evening changed, she's not quite ready to delve in deeper. But once they're in the car later, she'll probably feel she can open up a bit more. Poppy and Tora both do well opening up when they're able to direct their attention elsewhere when discussing heavy topics. So the car ride back to Narin City should give them both the freedom to open back up. I love that Quincey, for being the capitan of the Tora/Poppy ship, is also the first to remind and warn Tora that if he goes all in, that paints a target on Poppy's back with flashing neon lights. I can't tell if Tora's saying he'll take responsibility for the fall out he knows he'll have within the clan by going "public" with Poppy, or if he's saying he'll fall on his own sword and own up to the sabotage he's been planting within the Balthuman clan? Or is it that all the stuff with the notebook that he's referring to? I NEED MORE ANSWERS! Sir, you're being obtuse here and, while I appreciate you coming clean to yourself in your own head, don't make Poppy worry more! She's already anxious! Just give her a big ol' hug and snuggle her until Damien rolls in! Which if he's just as much a city kid as Tora, will be a great laugh for Poppy too 😆 I can't figure out of Tora plans for Damien to stay at Poppy's Granny's house for the night (and they'll get him tomorrow when they come back for Poppy to visit Granny) or if he'll ride back with them that night. If he rides back with them, we can kiss and heart-to-heart in the car goodbye.

Here's a behind-the-scenes tidbit for y'all. In the original script for this particular scene, I wrote: "Tora asks Poppy if she trusts him, and Poppy nods immediately without hesitation." This bit was part of the main MPL story outline I wrote a couple years back. And when I revisited the script a couple weeks ago to flesh it out and prep for this episode, I found myself rewriting it completely because over the course of the series, the characters had evolved so much that the original script no longer worked and now felt jarring and out of place. What y'all see now - poppy's trust issues, Tora's hesitation in asking for her trust and feelings of unworthiness in being trusted - none of these were present in the original 🥲 Anyway just leaving this bit of funfact here for anyone interested. I actually don’t know how to start this analysis because it’s kicked off with our tiger looking like THAT while saying “Only ya uncle Tora.” and I’m just ogling that panel alone for far far too long and any and all thoughts I had have just slipped right out of my mind. I mean this man should be illegal. How Poppy is keeping calm aside from that deep deep blush, I have no idea! But ROAR! Lily is taking no prisoners with this episode. *fans self* I know we’re coming out the other side of a heatwave in the UK but I am burning up. *fans self more* What a work of art he is. Should probably actually do some thoughts to this episode though. That’s what you’re all here for, LOL. And Poppy absolutely takes the joke to heart and gives us a bit more intel into just how dickish and pathetic Julri is. I wonder just what he’s done in the past for Poppy to know what he’s capable of. And to have Tora thank her for the protection was so wholesome. Just another piece of the puzzle to click into place when it comes to mending her self esteem and confidence. Oh yeah, we got hands people!! This is NOT a drill! Even if Poppy’s brain is short circuiting and her nerves are feeling every bit of that wandering hand, he’s going there! And another kiss!! I am LOVING all these extra kisses that aren’t because of a favour, or a sub for a cigarette, or because of drunken moments. This quiet time between the two of them is incredible, even if I did want to yeet that phone into the lake and tell Poppy to stop noticing his change of text tone so she could get the full effect of that rough calloused hand. We knew it was coming after all! Teaaaaase. I don’t know if I’m making more out of this or what, but I’m glad Tora simply thanked Poppy for noticing the difference in the alert sound. I mean she was quick to assure she wasn’t being stalkerish, so we can thank that dick for yet another reason to make Poppy uncomfy. Tora is just handing back the pieces of normality to Poppy one bit at a time and I feel a weight being lifted each time he does. Poor Tora is getting a taste of what could come with this back and forth with his thoughts of what to do for the best with Poppy. Take her back to see what could potentially be another dangerous situation at her place; leave her in Moonbright, just with Pinky and potentially emotionally wound however unintentional. She’s had a long arse day and a bad run in with the ex, she’s feeling a bit fragile right now, something he’s aware of. It was truly fascinating to read his thoughts warring for the right thing to do. And what’s happened to Gyu?! Hope he gave as good as he *sobs* probably got. Gah, they both just look so vulnerable and unsure! Poppy sitting on the bed watching him, Tora looking at her like a lifeline torn for the best for her, while what HE wants. Something I think he rarely ever indulges himself into having. It’s all right there in their expressions and I’m once again floored by the detailing and beauty of the artwork this comic has. These beautiful people are so deeply ingrained into my heart. Tora, darling, when you’re asking someone if they trust you, probably best to not be looking away from them. Doesn’t massively encourage said trust. Loaded question for sure! Especially as he knows her history with jerkri, and is being sketchy with the details of leaving Moonbright in the dead of night for reasons. But he pulls it back slightly by facing her and asking her to just trust on this one thing. Still a big ask, but better than the all in he had asked just before. I like that he’s on her level as he talks to her, not standing and towering over her. He’s trying to even the playing field even though he’s the one in the lead for now. We *think*. I haven’t forgotten that mafia comment from Poppy ya know... And they’re both feeling the anxiety of the moment. Poppy’s gripping her leg, Tora’s clenching his fist, something we’ve seen before and know he does when stressed. They’re pulling back from each other slightly, Poppy’s not looking at him. Although it appears light with the slight banter as he’s packing up her stuff, it’s not as natural and fluid as before. There’s a real tension between them now and you can really feel it. In the past thats built up slightly. But this time Poppy takes the reins and opens up to him. And I’m so damn proud of her for that! For opening herself and really laying those vulnerabilities at his feet. Another big step for her and I especially love that she stood up on the bed to do it. She made herself appear taller, stronger. And although she had her hands clasped to her chest to protect her heart as she said it, the fact remains the intent was there and I’m cheering her on! Also, I can’t help but say I know exactly where Poppy is coming from. I don’t trust people, period. Not when it comes to the big things like Poppy is saying. I always knew I had some issues with it, but it wasn’t until I started therapy that I realised just how deep those trust issues went. The fear of abandonment - because in my world people leave. Whether they had the choice or not, it’s still a fear. So I shut people out. And I can relate to Poppy hard with this, so I feel even more protective of her. But also, made kudos to her for recognising it at the age she is! That shit is HARD and she’s aware. That alone is a huge positive sign. But I wasn’t prepared for the flashback with her mum. As a mother myself, fucking ouch, I could NOT imagine ever walking away from my girls. As a little girl being abandoned by my own dad, double ouch! Because I was around the same age as Poppy was and I STILL at 33 years old question why I’m still not good enough for him. BUT it’s because I’m a mother that I’m now looking at this scene and starting to think this was a heartbreaking decision for Poppy’s mum. Don’t get me wrong, she is giving nothing away in the flashback, except for the sweat drop. But she also had an impressive RBF in the picture of her with Poppy’s dad. The business suit, the business paper...is this a front to whatever she was doing? I’ve always been on the fence with her mum, like I’ve said before some parents just aren’t interested in the role. But seeing the panel of her turned away with her hair covering her face like that...I don’t know, I’m seriously questioning how much of a choice Poppy’s mum had. I need some answers granny and Poppy deserves them. I can’t look at the flashback and pain on young Poppy’s face. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Poppy looks a little surprised (and relieved?) that Tora said, “That makes two of us.” Like, maybe he DOES get it which again with his own childhood, zero surprises. And the look of hope? Surprise? Incredulity that she could possibly trust him? A mafia member? She just blew his mind wide open that he is worthy of trust. That she’s giving him another tentative sign that he’s worthy of her affections. Of being cared about. I mean that’s pretty fucking huge!! And it’s taken me 2 days to write this analysis because that part has been doing circles in my brain since I first read it, until it suddenly clicked. Now this part Poppy’s trying to work around I had to take notes down for, because I was trying to unravel it and feel where my instincts were telling me this was going, and I think it’s been interpreted a few different ways. But this is my take - Is she saying she doesn’t want him to take it for granted, she’s handing a piece of her heart over? She’s acknowledging - I think - that there’s parts of his clan life he can’t share with her. But her heart, how honest and open she’s been with telling him the hard truths in the past, she doesn’t want him to use those ‘against her’? I mean let’s face it jerk face did it a lot during their relationship. But Poppy seems to have dived deeper already with Tora - naturally without force. So maybe she’s asking him to not take for granted what she’s already given emotionally. To not “fuck and go” as he put it. Is she looking for reassurance from him that that’s not what he’s going to do? Maybe a little confession that he’s in for it ‘all’. I’m very curious at others perceptions of that! And then it gets lighter and the tension has almost all but seeped out of the ‘room’. Pft pft, Poppy tell the man his smell is a huge turn on and soothes your anxiety! We won’t judge. Haha! Has anyone else noticed the huge range of expressions Tora has had since coming to Moonbright? I feel like Poppy has had a huge dose of Tora as he is, outside of clan bullshit and Tiger of Ares Street stress. He’s just Tora and I feel that weight creeping back in for her again. Obscene dimple alert! Good lord, Lily!! That man should come with a trigger warning when he flashes that, I hope Poppy never becoming immune to it. It’s blinding in its glory. And I LOVE it! And she squished his face back!!! Ah, the sheer progression, goofiness and COMFORT level these two have is making me so ridiculously happy, I feel like I could bounce off the walls! I know they’ve got some shit coming, that they’re gonna be tested and pushed. But for now this is fuelling me and I’m keeping it safe in my heart. They’re so cute!! Also, the fact he didn’t let that trust issue she didn’t elaborate on slide, I am clapping loud for that! Keep those line of communication open, encourage her to express it in a way you both understand. Maybe right now isn’t the time, but the fact he knows it bothers her and wants to help her sort through it makes my heart thump. And he thinks he has no idea what to do with ‘couples things’. Pft! What a rollercoaster this episode has been. My emotions have been all over the show. And now the end with Quincey trying to be the voice of reason with - legitimate - concerns for Poppy’s safety...I’m getting anxious. He made it sound pretty scary! And don’t think we’ve forgotten you’re the one who meddled too Quincey and encouraged this, even if you didn’t expect him to fall so fast and deep. She’s in your orbit now, buddy. BUT what got me more was Tora saying he’d take full responsibility....not only does that show how deep in he is to know all those safety concerns and STILL want more, but he’s being selfish for himself for one of the first times since the story began. I can’t help but wonder how much foreshadowing is in there though with Tora’s response. Time will tell. And I’m curious and excited that Quincey brought up about Tora lying low - is that in reference to Vincent saying something similar? Or is that something he will need to do to make it safer for Poppy to be around him? Just how long has his little break from the clan been going on? All the questions and intrigue at the end of this episode. So who else got heart flutters when he admitted he was falling in love with her? I had instant flashbacks to when I first fell in love with my husband. When I started to realise the depth of it, what the feeling was and just how life changing it felt. All that came rushing back and I’m clutching the Oh shit bar of life right now for Tora. Ugh, his face is going to be the death of me. Between that and his confession and I feel like I need some kind of intervention. LOL. I’m ready though. Somethings coming and I am so ready to watch these two navigate it together and individually. Whatever comes. Lily you’re masterful in your storytelling and exceptional in your art. This episode was incredible! *Early morning thoughts I forgot to add* This episode being a big one about trust for them both, Poppy especially, I wonder if she’ll keep it in mind that he said, “At least on this one thing.” when it comes to what he’ll hopefully tell her about back in the city. The danger shes in, the motion detector, Gil etc. It’s been said before not being honest about the motion detector could backfire on him. And although Poppy can assess a situation given a bit of time - like the rooftop chat about the photo - she’s just opened up about finding it hard to really truly trust someone, so I feel like the hurt could run a bit deeper when it comes to light. Will wait and see.

You’re literally 🔥🔥 This episode pulled strings in my heart so much I felt it deep in my soul and I recommend listening to “Say you won’t let go”- by James Arthur it makes it seem that song was made for Pops and Tora in that specific moment! I remember thinking a couple of weeks back when you made the poll that yeah maybe we need more sexy time but the way you craft each episode is ingenious! And I want to say scratch that thought! I reread everything for the first time to the current episode and actually the sexy time is just perfect... they just met a couple of weeks back and for two very different individuals such as Poppy and Tora with all this very deep trauma will need time to to trust each other before getting so deeply entangled-(intimacy) if they just rushed and fucked like we all wanted I think things could have just spiraled down especially for Poppy more so Tora because he would’ve reaffirmed his thoughts that he was unworthy and just a douchebag(cue the episode where Erdene was being judgy and he admits to Quincy that Erdene is not wrong about him being bad news....aww poor booboo Tora) but them building this from scratch is so wholesome and I’m really here for it because it’s so realistic and a grounded relationship like what their forming really needs a strong foundation because they both carry serious baggage. This episode was everything, I’m so satisfied with where they are at and I don’t even feel like they need to get intimate anymore like how I initially felt it. No pressure, if it happens then fine but if it does not I’m still loving every little line I read. Mr Lily, Mrs Lily has officially won my heart , line hook and sinker ❤️ Lily you’re amazing!! I’m totally fan girling right now 😅 Rereading put everything in perspective. They are doing just fine and forgive us thirsty bitches for projecting our thirsty fantasies so hard on you lolololz. I’ve read this chapter around 4 times now, over the last couple of days, and I am ready to speak. I am getting this feeling of dread from Tora’s choice to keep Poppy by his side. But it’s a feeling I enjoy? Like I am enjoying this decision more than I would have if he simply just pushed her away because it was “dangerous” to be around him. He wants her. It doesn’t feel like he has the opportunity to chase the things he wants. Last time he did, he got punished (talking about the beach when he was younger). This decision marks the start of him choosing something, selfishly mind you, because he cannot let it go. He cannot see himself without her. Him being involved with her puts her in danger but he cannot walk away. He loves this person. He’s in trouble because he loves someone that he wants to keep as close as possible. However, he wants her to know the truth so she can choose whether or not to leave him, but he has already made his decision. Tora is not going anywhere. It feels like a super selfish decision which makes it feel extremely human. I love it. Lily really knows how to make her characters feel real.

I think the helmet is significant in Poppy’s relationship with her mom. I feel it’s symbolic of Poppy’s mom’s desire to protect her, even to the point of being overly cautious. We learned at Old Alice’s restaurant that it was her mom that made her wear it to school because she was so accident prone, and then we see the helmet brought out again as her mom’s leaving? Symbolism!!! I think she left to protect Poppy from SOMETHING and by pretending not to care, it’s to ensure Poppy won’t come looking. I think she turns her head so Poppy can’t see her crying.
