If there is anyone in this fandom who only reads these chapters once and thinks they’ve caught every fantastic detail- I call bullshit. What a juicy episode! So much was packed in wow. I love your storytelling. I will say though it always makes me sad when one of the thuglets refers to themselves as “Tora’s MEN” in flashbacks but they are shown as literal children (remedial classes) including Tora. Like they were really denied their childhood and turned into disposable footsoilders at such a young age, and even though Tora is “sometimes mean” to them, it feels like he was trying his hardest to care for them and make sure they didn’t become disposable and thrown away. It makes me so sad, but at the same time I love the depiction of chosen family and caring for those labeled and treated as “unwanted.” Anyway, just what I was thinking about after finishing this episode. The brotherhood of these characters, for me, is also part of the “romance” of this story, even though it is platonic. They love each other!

This has got to be my favorite episode so far. It was cut af, made me laugh a bunch, has some ✨spice✨ and some sexy af little thuglets doin their thing. I mean... Just look at Gyu 😍 Look at Damien 🥵 Look at Brian also being there. We get a closer look at Tora's relationship to his group and see some insight on how they feel towards him and the upbringing they had. We get Tora being cute af and a total marshmallow with Poppy and he lets her take control and take care of his lil bro. Plus all the big scary 🔥hot🔥 men being little babies about the bugs. Also I am the frog. The frog is me 🐸 All the while we're still getting some plot development and some mystery going on. Lily 👑 how on earth did you manage to create the most perfect episode ever? The story is amazing, the art is just stunning and I'm going to go and daydream about being that little frog.

This episode was amazing! I was giggling like a fool through the whole thing! Leaches, prince frogs attacking Tora, all of those adorable faces they made! I love how Tora is known for taking care of his guys. That just adds a level of awesomeness to him! What’s with Quincy? Did anyone else find that exchange a little weird? Poor Poppy! She really wanted to snuggle with Tora, or at least share a trim with him, but he left her for bugs and Damian! At least he gave her that sexy neck kiss! Maybe Tora will join her in bed later? The neck kiss stole my heart 😩. You can tell how badly he wants to be with her but instead he just gives her the space she needs. Even now shes really starting to notice her feelings for him. Ok Patreon I am a little nervous but I have a theory for you all and was encouraged to share... In this episode We get a repeat of Poppy's mom's face in this episode. Now way back when in episode 11 we get a panel of Goliath at a casino with 2 women. Only one of which has a face. The similarities between poppy's mom and that woman are a bit striking for me. They have the same eye and hair color, except the hair is grown out long and with Goliath the woman is wearing makeup. Now since she was the only one with a face in that everyone pointed out that she must be important, but we haven't seen her again since. Now maybe it's cuz I'm new or maybe it's cuz I really am kinda obsessed but I think there may be a connection here. We have a time gap between poppy's memory and Goliath's so there it is very possible that she grew out her hair. And if she is in this completely different environment of high money society it makes sense that her makeup would level up as well. Maybe I am alone in this but seriously look at the panels.. tell me if I am crazy lol...

Okay, read one thoughts: Holy fudge biscuits. How to start. I love how much comedic relief it had, but at the same time HOLY FUUUUUUDGEBUCKETS, the amount of background information that we got through the conversation between Tora and Quincey is tasty. and the little tidbits thrown in by Pinky as he was bragging on Tora, and even if Poppy doesn't know all that we do about Pinky, we know more about them, and hooooooooooo boy was that a hot pic of Pinky, Brian, and Gyu as street thugs. There's so much more, but I need to reread first. One last thing tho, the most important part I got from this episode, because it was so close to me personally. When Tora walks up behind Poppy and puts his hands on her hips, and then kisses her neck he said one thing loud and clear "I want you." but then he says "I'll bunk with Pinky." At first this seems heartbreaking. But this is his way of giving her the choice. I can almost gaurantee that if Poppy had turned to him and told him to sleep with her tonight, he would have, and he would have continued to follow her signs. But the most important part is that he gave her that option. Tora knows she's going through a lot, and it's been a REALLY long night (and long 3 weeks, almost feels like years {sobs in reader}) and he knows shes tired, mentally, physically, and especially emotionally exhausted is more accurate. He wants her to lead in this area, he knows shes a virgin. He wants to be 100% sure she wants this, without his coersion. But he also wanted to make it crystal clear that HE very much wants her. Did I want her to turn around and grab him and pull him to her bed, Oh my god yes. But once she was in her room and thinking about things that she felt, just during the previous episode, she realized that shes feeling overwhelmed, or more numb because of the amount of overwhelming stimulus she's been through, she's been stuffing it all down, and even if she doesn't realize it fully, if she went so far as to sleep with him tonight, she would probably just have one more thing that became associated with a string of events that is probably about to explode and actually overwhelm her. She is taking tonight to think about everything that happened between her and Tora, and I think she'll come to some very important conclusions. When we will learn all the conclusions she comes too Lily only knows. Before the end of the story. Unless this never ends...which on one hand I'd love, cuz I know it will always be good because Lily's special magic power is storytelling, but she's got to retire and tell a new story at some point. But I love this story so much, I would not be disappointed if it never ended. I will stop now, and be back when I reread, roll over and cry, and then recap in the comments.

I love the scenes where we get glimpses of Tora being big bro. The bond between him and his bros is so precious. I still want to know what happened between Gyu and Tora to make him cry and say he owed Tora his life and apologize for what Tora had to do for him. Tora almost cried too. They obviously have a very strong bond and I love seeing it as much as I love seeing Tora and poppy’s relationship. I’m greedy but dear Lilly would you be able to do a few short stories or side stories about more of Tora and his little bros? Maybe after Midnight poppy land is finished? Poor Tora's trying to make an apology, but also have a "where did we leave off…" moment, only to be interrupted AGAIN, this time by a panic stricken, bleeding, and disheveled Damien. Oh my Gods these city boys 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't I thought, when I saw the preview teaser earlier this week, that maybe Poppy was pulling leeches off Damien, and the only thing I could think was, "How did he manage to fall in the lake??" But then also, it couldn't be Poppy's lake since she and Tora were in that lake for a bit there and he had a hard enough time with the spider. If Tora had ended up with leeches on him too, we would have heard about it! The side eye and shade Tora is throwing at Damien right now; a little bit "I can't believe you," a little bit "really, that's the biggest lie I've ever heard, never seen that much blood," and a lot of "she's supposed to be fussing over me, get your own hamster to take care of you!"  That shot of Damien wiping the blood off his face should not be that hot 🥵🥵 I almost forgot about the possessive little frog that was hanging on Damien's shirt when he first rolled in, but the tiny crown was so adorable. And Poppy not noticing the little frog prince/princess yeeting itself at Tora, meanwhile Damien telling Poppy about how Big Bro took care of his crew growing up, helping patch them up when they need it.  So sweet! Meanwhile, Tora's freaking out because FROGS lol This jump back inside the house, I totally thought Poppy had a radio playing, I had to scroll back and reread a few times to be sure. Damien singing in the shower, and Disney songs no less! what a nerd 🤓 🤣 I love him so much. I mean it was a 3 hour drive.  He probably had on some random playlist. Plus, living off that high from spending the night before with Erdene 😏😘 Poppy getting her courage up to ask Tora where he wants to sleep, and first off all, SIR, you can't just go giving out neck kisses and nibbles willy nilly and expect ya girl to be able to keep a thought in her head every time! But I think he could tell that she'd had almost too much time to think about the sleeping arrangements since their moment pre-alarm, and I think Tora sensed that she was kinda starting to freak out and over overthink a bit, which is why I think he offered to stay with Damien instead. Had the alarm not gone off, and Damien not come out, I 100% think they would have made out and gotten handsy, but just spooned for the night. No big sexy times tonight.  Poppy flopping into bed, I was like GIRL been there done that. That's most Friday nights for me these days! Poppy, my dear, you 1000000% could have fit you both in that bed! I see that aerial view, there's PLENTY of room there. And you were both cozy, but with plenty of room earlier! These new thoughts about her mom again, I have a feeling we're going to get something about her again soon. I just can't be sure what... MEANWHILE, Tora and Damien huddled in the corner, held prisoner by a single bug, with their audience of frogs, mocking them. Tora's thinking "I can't believe I gave up sharing a bed with her for *this*." Neither of them is going to fall asleep 🤣🤣 I forsee heavy dark circles under their eyes the next morning, meanwhile Poppy will wake up feeling refreshed, of not a little overwhelmed by the events of the night before. Part of me wants them to cave and call out to Poppy for a rescue, but I doubt that would actually happen. Gotta keep up some appearances! I can't wait for next week. I wonder if we'll get back to the hospital and finally get a Tora/Granny introduction & interaction!

It’s already difficult to identify what kind of relationship and level of intimacy you’d like, and then putting it into practice is a whole separate journey, even if it’s something you’re actively “craving.” Commitment can feel so DAUNTING at the beginning of any relationship, and it’s nice to see it discussed more in a romance story! So many long faces this episode have me cackling! Lily for so many episodes youve given me heart palpitations about Gyu boy that I‘m equally relieved it was a false alarm and terrified that itll go off again and be mistaken for a false alarm 😭 Damien was everything omg. I live for his dynamic with Big Bro! And that flashback of the thuglets doing murder looked like a boy band promo and I love it. Those phone calls have opened up so many questions yet again. Is Cordy sus? What the heck is D day and why would Tora act on Vincen‘t behalf? And lastly FROGS! Oops not lastly. Because giving (and getting) a hug and a smooch from behind while doing dishes is one of my very favourite things to do to show my partner affection and appreciate. It‘s so tender and seeing this moment between Tora and Poppy shows how much more familiar they‘ve become with each other ♥️

Is Damien deliberately butchering the lyrics to tease Tora and Poppy? Which would make sense why Tora said he’d bunk with Pinky without discussion, despite Poppy saying that Tora could share her room… he’s concerned that Pinky’s teasing is making Poppy uncomfortable and he doesn’t want her to feel any pressure. But I think there’s more to it than just that…. They haven’t had a chance to talk with each other about the false alarm (and Tora coming clean about that motion sensor) and what Poppy meant when she asked him not to take her trust for granted. They haven’t decided if they’re in a relationship, Tora still wants to tell her everything so she can make that “informed decision.” But having Damien there kills that mood, and as much as we like to think Tora would go as far as Poppy will let him… maybe for once *he* wants to hold back. It's a long one! Where do I begin? This episode had it all, it was such a perfect tension relief blended with comedy and a bit of affection and so much backstory and tinfoil material! Gyu - the red herring of the year! Omg, Lily got us good. His spidey sense tingling in episode 71 (it’s been months for us! Months of anxiety about his well-being, buried under lust and thirsting over Tora and Poppy true, but it was still there dammit!) and now we find out that the man was not only doing his job but acing it like a damn pro, testing the sensor and being all extra and shit. I can’t believe I underestimated Gyu, thinking he might be in trouble, even though I KNEW, I just knew he is one of the most reliable characters in this comic and a total badass (cue fight scene later in this ep.). Well done, master, well done. Our dear old techie is also a workaholic. Three shifts in a row? This has given us the chance to catch a glimpse of Tora’s “paternal” side, which is actually Tora caring for his friend/brother. It reminded me of Joe and of his rough attitude disguising an affectionate nature (“take this money and get this jaw looked over, punk”). Unlike Joe, whose affection was masked under harsh words because of teenage Tora’s behavior towards him, Tora displays the “mean” facade because 1. he can’t afford to look weak in front of his men (conditioned by his reputation and training at the hands of Vincent) and 2. he is dealing with the same trust issues as Poppy in letting people get close to him, so he keeps everyone at arm’s length in order to avoid being disappointed/betrayed later on. We see the same brotherly responsibility later in the episode, in Damien’s memories, where a young Tora was dressing the injuries of an even younger Pinky (my heart broke for them, they were just kids…). Taking the little gang of boys under his wing, teaching them to survive, and inadvertently becoming their hero is the seed that Joe planted in Tora, which grew at its own pace. The way Pinky and Gyu admire Tora, strive to meet his requests, aspire to be better, honorable men, is no different than the way Tora “gave his heart away” to Joe, thus making Joe his own hero (as he so reverently wore his ring and bracelet, got similar tattoos and “gave a shit” for the owners of the small businesses near Ares Street). But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Back to the phone conversation and Tora’s flashback with Quincey. Tora suspects Poppy’s dad might have swapped the addresses in the system and asks Gyu to investigate. Which makes all my tinfoiling hats tingle - too easy Tora brushed off as a joke Poppy’s confession to being in the mafia, the panel where nobody (not even the readers) could see her face - either this is another huge red herring from Lily - see, Queen, what you did? I have trust issues now! - OR daddy Wilkes was involved big time and Poppy really is mafia-related. Oooh the suspense! Then we have the Quincey discussion. Poor dear optimistic Quincey. We talked about this on Mindy’s Storytinker podcast, that Quincey didn’t think his schemes through when setting up Poppy and Tora and now he can’t believe they backfired. I love that he called the chemistry between them off the charts and them not being able not to touch each other. Duh, Bro, you spoke for the whole fandom, thank you, Sir! Even though I love the brotherly bond and banter Tora and Quincey have going on...and the fact that Tora was honest with Q about telling Poppy everything… still, there is a grain of distrust there. Now, hold on to your horses and keep your rotten eggs, I’m not saying they don’t love or support each other, one thing does not cancel the other. The facepalm says it all. As far as we have been shown, Quincey was a brat as a kid (“I’m telling Dad!”), and now as an adult, he acts impulsively, puts Tora in difficult situations, although it stems from his desire to see Tora happy. The blind date, asking Cordelia to flirt with Poppy so Tora would be jealous, blindly signing a contract, pushing upon an introvert Tora a joint birthday party - then openly admitting he would not have done any of it if he knew how much would Tora care for Poppy - this is what makes Tora not fully trust Quincey. Because of his unreliable behavior, which is the exact opposite of Tora’s. We have seen Quincey playing the intimidation card with Gil, we have seen him throwing up after playing the same card (only more violent) with Morrison, and he himself admitted he brought “clan affairs into his personal ones” - Quincey does not play by the same rules as Tora. Maybe because of his entitled position in the clan or maybe because of his optimistic, jovial nature, he is allowed (or believes to be) to make mistakes. That grain of distrust is observed when Tora asked Gyu to snoop in Quincey’s affairs - Cordelia and her business and, interestingly enough, in the question Quincey addresses Tora “our agreement still stands, RIGHT?”. That “right” tells me there is more here, that Quincey is also hiding something and that he also doesn’t trust Tora completely. I won’t go into d-day theories, there is too much to speculate and I already did enough here. Now...I am so happy they get to stay at Poppy’s house tonight. Dare to wish for one bed trope? Not with Pinky leaking leeches I don’t! The hilarity of the situation got me rolling for hours. Pinky, in his Born to be wild t-shirt, fell into a goddamn puddle??? And is covered in leeches??? Omg, too good. All hail to Moonbright forests - getting people lost (Pinky, Goliath?) and attacking them with leeches since the dawn of MPL! (omg, the bloody shoe, surely it belonged to some wandering tourist who got attacked by leeches, right? Right??? :)))))))))))) I just hope he didn’t get some of those bloodsuckers on Tora’s car seats, can you imagine the drive back to Narin City? (I feel you Pinky, I hate the slimy fuckers too) *shudders* Dear Pinky. How Poppy fusses over him like a mother hen, cleaning him off and offering advice, and what does he do??? He reverts to a child-like persona “I’m not gonna bleed to death, am I, Miss Poppy? I never saw this much blood…”. It’s cute and also heartbreaking if you think more into it. Pinky lies in order to get her attention and affection, not in a sexual way, but in a motherly, caring way. He is like a kid who fakes a cry or a fever to get his mother to take care of him more than usual (oh don’t pretend you didn’t do it!). The way these thuglets act around people who show just a bit of affection to them just breaks my heart. They are all to some extent just little children, they have an inner child that comes out in these vulnerable moments and when somebody demonstrates kindness and nurturing, they strive to get it by any means. This shows how much they were deprived of it growing up, forced to mature early in order to survive the way of the streets. This also applies to Tora, who puts up the facade of a tough guy, but is just as starved of affection as the rest of them. The last thing I want to address for this episode is the scene in the kitchen, followed by Poppy’s thoughts. Damien’s singing is on point on each of those panels. I loved the juxtaposition of the lyrics to Poppy’s internal monologue, her internal struggles. It’s like Damien sings what we can all see - that Poppy and Tora are perfect for each other - while she is still blind to it. Wait...brain is mush from that kiss…rebooting… Oh dear. This must be one of the tenderest moments between them. It felt so natural and comforting, so beautifully done. A kiss that asked for nothing. Not for reciprocation, or for continuing where they had left off. It was just a display of affection in a moment of domestic peace that warmed my cold-blooded heart. The panels right after he says he’ll bunk with Pinky - the angle of those panels makes Poppy seem small. That coupled with her internal “Oh” brings out a sadness. We know that Tora just wants to be respectful, but Poppy doesn’t know that and her insecurities pop up. This is why she couldn’t ask him about the bed. I can almost hear her disappointment when he moves away. She is saying “sounds cool” but I can hear behind it “but...but I thought you wanted me tonight?” “This craving and discontent” - she wants him and is annoyed he chose to sleep in the same room with Pinky. She wants affection just like him, but her past trauma and her fear of rejection keep her silent. And as she herself recognized it later, she is wary of commitment because of that. Because what if I open myself to you and you leave me? What if I trust you and you leave me? What if I admit I want you but you don’t want me the same? Or you don’t want me enough? This is all I feel coming from Poppy, even though I also see her taking huge steps in trusting and making herself vulnerable with Tora. Last, but not least, let’s give some credit to the bugs! Maybe they’ll push Tora out of Granny’s room and into Poppy’s bed, where his little hamster will keep him safe from the nasty army of critters. One can only hope.

I don’t remember if it was done in S1, but I LOVE the Peanuts-looking caricatures. It’s so fun, and just adds another level of emotion to them (like Candy with Benjamin’s acne). The panel of the three when removing the leeches from Pinky killed me. Tora looks so cute, hahaha. But also Pinky covered in leeches in a “Born to be Wild” shirt was just such an out of character look for him. He looked like a little kid 😂 I like that we got a tiny bit of clan background between Tora and Pinky, but also Pinky is a hot??? Thuglet?? That shot of his faaaaaaaace 🥵 And of course that comfortable neck kiss and Poppy being disappointed that she won’t share a bed with him. They’re both realizing their feelings, even if Poppy is a little more cautious to admit them than Tora is. And lastly, city thugs unable to handle bugs and frogs is hysterical and I LIVE for that weakness.

I so bad wanted her say what she was thinking before tora said he would bunk with pinky. I felt that tho Poppy ngl 😩 it’s so hard to speak up and ask for clarity or what you want. I can’t wait until she can push past her fear of rejection and figures out what she wants and can be a little more assertive when it comes to romance and desire with Tora. We know its not impossible for her in other areas of her life. We’ve seen her be great at it when it comes to work like with the whole Mr Lam arc. What if Goliah were looking for information collected by Poppy's mon or dad (mafia issues). Poppys dad was really concerned about security... I hope Cordelia is not a bad person... mafia enemy etc And I still hope Poppy and Tora sleeps together... About Granny... well if any of Poppy's parents were involved with mafia Granby must be afraid there enemies find Poppy... maybe that's why she was so uncomfortable with Poppy living in Narin city. Anyway, Lily is simple amazing creating and showing Poppy and Tora relationships. It is so good to read it like a warn hug.

Just a small observation! Poppy mentioned briefly about how he might be more comfortable on the floor. That’s totally a reference back to when they were in his apartment and she found out he doesn’t sleep on his bed but pn the floor in the living room. Just loved Poppy’s thoughtfulness ☺️

Gah! Quincey's concerns have me kinda worried. I am totally afraid of message board hate, but I feel like Poppy and Tora have a long, challenging path ahead of them (for many reasons). And I'm still rooting for a Happily Ever After, but I suspect some periods of concern coming!!!!! I'll still throw my coins at you girl, every single week, cuz I'm hooked something fierce. (We are not worthy!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤) But after we get our glorious "1st time together"🥵, there's going to be a whole new series of challenges that unfold me thinks!!! The neck kiss!! What's even better (and sad) about this, is not only is Poppy so flustered because this so new between her and Tora, but Julri never treated her like this. She's literally never received such a casual but intimate form of affection before and she doesn't know what to do with it. Tora on the other hand hasn't experienced this either, but he seems to be more comfortable leaning in since he has never experienced being in a manipulative and neglectful relationship. But they are both letting eachother in slowly nonetheless. I'm really happy about this moment so much because it is a step in a direction that is more healthy, loving, caring, attentive, and secure than either of them have ever gone before. This moment is very big to me. Tora just letting himself plant a neck kiss and being comfortable enough around her to just tease and curse out Pinky like the Clan world is lifted from his shoulders for the evening - and comfort in knowing everyone in the room knows his life too - he doesn't have to hide. He likely doesn't even realize how free this behavior is. It's so small, but such a perfect detail.

Still think that Poppy is actually tied to the Mafia through her mom and somehow she’ll make her way back to the story with the deal Quincey and Tora have (which has to be the day Vincent is killed or they have to flee for whatever reason.) Lily, I think you should give serious consideration to a spin-off comedy series of city thugs in the country. I couldn’t stop laughing at the reactions of Pinky and Tora to all the tiny creatures who literally gave them panic attacks, especially in juxtaposition to the memories of the thuglets in fights, showing just how deadly and dangerous they are to humans. Tora dancing around behind Poppy to dislodge the frog as she calmly treated Damien was hilarious, but Damien’s cowering sleeplessness, wrapped in a blanket and gripped onto Tora for dear life, was the best. 🤣

I feel like we’ve hit the absolute jackpot with this episode. Not only is it hella long - thank you! - but it’s also chock full of volume that I haven’t been able to shake it from my mind since I first read it at 3am. I mean, I have been randomly laughing and grinning when I think of all the comedic moments in this one. But it’s also got some serious depth too, so many questions been raised, so much personality that I’m just zig zagging in my mind who to fall madly in love with more. The answer is all of them. I can’t choose. So let’s go! I love the opening being Poppy slightly higher than Tora as she stands on the bed. The way he stands there, arms down and just accepting of the fact he’s just had a huge bombshell moment of a thought and Poppy has zero idea of what’s going through his mind. Though I love how she has the sleeves over her hands. That’s a comfort thing I do too, and the atmosphere between them in just this scene was breathtaking. Quick on the heels of that is the sheer relief that Gyu is OK! Lily, you really had us going there with that, and I should’ve known better. But yet again I was pleasantly surprised! I love a story that keeps me on my toes and MPL does in every way that matters. And Gyu got the first smile out of me, he’s so geekily adorable. That selfie he took of the balcony...I want to keep him. And the banter between them! I won’t lie I wondered if Poppy was still in the room while he was talking to Gyu because of how caring he sounded to his thuglet. Don’t shoot me! We know he can be harsh and abrupt while on the phone. But this change in him, I feel like it’s leaning more towards the shift in Tora too. We’ve highlighted one with Poppy a lot these last few episodes, but there’s definitely some with Tora too. Now this next part almost threw me for a loop, but once I clicked that we’d slipped back to the conversation Tora and Quincey had been having earlier, I was soaking up every bit between them. Because that phone call was heavy!! I would love to know if Quincey knows that Tora is in love, or just that he’s caught some deep feels for Poppy? Now he’s past the shock of it being more than casual between them, I appreciate that he’s in, ‘how can I help you make this work’ mode. I laughed a loud when Quincey said he doesn’t know why people like his books so much. Come on Quincey, it’s the smut babe. And you know it. We’re all here for it too. LOL. Someone said it!! Someone pointed out the chemistry and the touches between them! I actually whooped with that, because we all talk about it, but having the characters SAY IT - hell yes!! Tora’s mad blush and embarrassment? The absolute cherry on the top of a delicious fucking cake. So now we hit the heavier part. I keep re-reading Quincey saying he’ll support Tora whatever his choice. BUT he wouldn’t have set them up if he’d have known it wasn’t just lust. I won’t lie, that’s a little owie. Is that because he likes Poppy and doesn’t want to see her in danger? Because he doesn’t want Tora distracted by whatever endgame is coming? Our tiger looks like he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders through it. Until Cordy is mentioned. And then we see some fire returning. Why did Quincey stutter when Tora asked? So he and Cordy go way back, was she born into a clan like Quincey? How did she come to be working for one? And how has Tora not met her before Gudruns? Is he wanting to look into her for Poppy’s safety or because his intuition is saying something? Or simply because he’s a bit salty? My questions list is massive. Haha! Ok, so they have an agreement. Tora stays out of Quincey’s personal life, ie Cordy, and doesn’t do anything to Quincey wether Vincent orders it or not, correct? So what IS D Day and what’s coming? I had presumed Tora was doing the sneaky things to cripple parts of the Balthuman clan to take the shine away from the notebook and in turn, Poppy. But I’m realising some of those things look like they would have needed to be done over more time, as in before Poppy entered his life. So now I’m wondering if Quincey is aware of what Tora has been doing and if it’s part of the D Day plan. I think Quincey and Tora have had deep discussions in the past about how they’d want their involvement with the clan to end or how to benefit from it. I’m flashing back to Quincey telling Poppy he’s the heir to 2 clans, and the look on his face and his posture. But we also know he’s clever and we still have a lot more to see from him. So do I want them to have hatched a plan to bring his old man down? Absolutely. Do we have any evidence that eludes to whatever D Day is? Not yet. But there’s a pact there and I’m curious which way Tora is going to go. If it’s him and Quincey working together, or a choice Tora has to make between Quincey and Vincent. Either way that tidbit has left me anxious for them both. It was masterfully written, the whole mystery of this is! But that part in particular, very very clever. That being said, I did feel like there was a wall between Quincey and Tora in this. Tora looked like he’d shut down, whereas Quincey seemed anxious for Tora to approve their previous agreement. Does Quincey want to fly free for as long as he can before he has to step up as heir and Tora agreed to give him the freedom? I’m starting to wonder if their closeness still has a touch of Tora keeping him at arms length sometimes. That what Quincey said was a reminder that he’s still his abusers son and he’s just opened up a lot about his feelings for Poppy, he’s made himself more vulnerable. He’s very open with Gyu, and maybe the tragedy that happened (Joe’s death?) is what solidified that closeness. Or I’ve just fell too deep down the rabbit hole and need to step back a bit. I’m an over thinker, it frustrates me too. LOL! OK, who is the computer engineer Tora is referring to with Gyu? Is that what Poppy’s dad used to be? Long shot, but maybe it goes beyond clans and computer geniuses’, maybe it’s some kind of police protection thing? Their not in witness protection, but maybe someone in the force has done it below the table? Proper reaching there! But Gyu is really pushing that it would be tricky for even him to do it, so someone’s done it with some serious power behind them. What do you know Granny? Hmm. Ohh, Tora got out of having to explain that change of plans with a very well timed Pinky! I bet Poppy doesn’t let that near miss go though. In fact, I hope she doesn’t. And here we slip into the funniest parts of this comic we’ve been blessed with so far. Which is saying a lot because just when I think you can’t top the last thing that has me howling with laughter, something else happens that makes me start all over again. How in the fuck did Pinky manage to get himself into such a state? The levity was so welcome after that phone call flashback, and the laughs just kelt coming. Tora’s expression alone was insane! Damien has a friend chilling on his shoulder, taking it all in. Thuglet with his badass tattoos covered in leaches (gag!) just looking like he’s about to slip into a deep state of shock. I can’t, this punk is so fucking funny!! Tora all hunched in on himself is a mood! I’d be kinda fascinated, but super cringed watching this happen too. And mad props to Poppy again too, for stepping up and sorting these plonkers out! Damiens been called out...are you a big bad thug or playing it, Pinky? Flashback says you’ve had your thug moments, but look at him undone by some bugs. (I shouldn’t downplay it cause I’d be a WRECK if this was me!) But I’m getting some serious joker vibes from that smile on his face in the flashback. ALSO! Someone amazingly pointed out on the Facebook groups that the thuglets are wearing jackets with the tiger symbol on. Which is a detail I’m losing my mind over! And Gyu was there...so how far back is this? Cause I got the impression Gyu just works his arse off constantly and isn’t so much working with the Balthuman clan? So was this prior, when Tora was still ‘active on the streets’ before Joe died, presuming Gyu has any connection to that? Was Joe’s death the start of him pulling back that’s been referred too by both Vincent and Quincey now? Man that rabbit hole has its own gravity field, I can’t pull myself out of it. All hail the frog king - queen? - who’s taken one look at our tiger and fallen in love. Can you blame froggy? God those little hearts and the kiss...I’m dying with laughter again!! I don’t know what I adore more, the baby Damien and young Tora, Poppy being underwhelmed by what he was maybe over sharing a little, or that Damien absolutely hero worships Tora while he’s dancing around the place trying to get the frog off him. I mean take your pick because the whole lot was perfection. Pinky, thank you for getting that song stuck in my head for hours and hours after reading this. This whole domestic scene and Tora just casually kissing her on the neck, absolutely melting away her anxiety and fears without any effort or word from her and then strolling off was swoon worthy. I hope I never get bored of watching him kiss and touch her without hesitation, or wondering if it’s what she wants too. Even though Poppy looked surprised, and maybe a little disappointed he wasn’t bunking with her. Am I showing my age by saying I’m glad they’re not rushing off back to Narin City and she can just crash alone for the night? The girls been through some heavy shit the whole day and needs some serious space to just decompress. I could feel her exhaustion as she worked through some of it. I wonder how long she’s been pushing down now she feels about her mum. That it’s highly likely a reason for her commitment phobia. (Also, just got out of a toxic as shit relationship so...) I’m curious about her saying about the deeper she gets the more she spirals out of control...putting that aside for later. I haven’t changed my phone wallpaper for well over a year...now I need Tora and Damien huddled together like now! These men have made my stomach hurt from laughing so hard! Pinky looks like ET. Haha! But although that’s funny, there’s something about Tora’s expression in the last one that is making me question if it’s more than the fact they’ve got peeping frogs. Something about Poppy’s upset him and I hope we get more on that soon. Wow, these analysis’ seem to be getting longer! But in fairness, the content is there and I can’t help myself so, sorry and well done you if you got this far! Lily, thank you as always for giving us a story that is everything and more!!

I love, that Pinky and the gang respect/admire and hold Tora in such high regard. That even though they fear him, they look up to him and love him as a big brother. Tora caring for their wounds 😭 that bit of wholesomeness is just makes the heart melty. And that he SPECIFICALLY chose them ❤️ and let them follow him around. I want to keep learning about the side characters, and seeing the past interactions and how they’ve all converged to be in each other’s lives now.
