So…I’m an Environmental Science teacher and today I showed a clip with this exact bird to my students to demonstrate “sexual selection”. One of my less than studious students wasn’t paying attention to the clips and looked up at the wrong (so right) moment where the bird bounces up and down in front of the female, did a massive double take and almost shouted out “what the hell is that!?”. Me: “sexual selection! Now pay attention M”. This here must mean the universe is trying to tell me something, but I’m not sure what. Love the illustration. Almost want to ask permission to show it to my enviro students.
