MPL EPISODE 88 K so im glad poppy and tora is acknowledging the fact that Tora was gonna use the “B word,” Tora needs to understand that Poppy is not one of his boys/men where he can talk to however he wants- she isnt them….in any healthy relationship, there will need to be boundaries set especially when someone crosses the line. Im glad Poppy set that boundary and someone like Tora probably doesnt have anybody tell him not to talk to them a certain way cause why would they? Risk getting punched in the ear or something lolololol. Im glad Tora apologized for saying it and wont say it ever again to her, thats healthy growth for him and Im also glad Poppy acknowledged her blowing up at Tora by acknowledging that fact that she said shit that was hurtful to him to- like intentionally trying to make him jealous with that getting the baristas number comment. I noticed when it comes to men, and when they REALLY like someone, the jealousy and possessiveness sets in when you bring up any sort of other man that was around you, or a friend thats a guy, or even a coworker (*cough* JACOB *cough*)....idk im not a man so i dont know how it is, but im sure that whole biological my dick is bigger/thats my mate/back off shes mine energy comes into play and men get soooo irritated if you bring up something another man has said whether it be a compliment, or a gift, or simply being helpful to you that they automatically go into defense mode so i can see how that messed with tora’s head. I love that tora and poppy are both growing and willing to put their pride aside for each other because both are imperfect but are willing to learn from their mistakes. I can honestly see how poppy feels weak and vulnerable because she struggles with communicating when she is upset and goes for ATTACK MODE 🔪🔪🔪 rather than flat out saying, “im upset with you.” I think im similar that way, when you’re not used to expressing how you feel so you just sort of pick something about that person youre upset about and unreasonably go after them cause it feels good at that moment but realize you should just be honest and tell them why you are upset… LOL!!! God!! Poppy is being all shy now with the letter!!! Hey- so i noticed after Poppy snatched the letter away from tora and when pain set in her ankle, tora told her “to rest and dont go runnin after buses” UMMMM HMMM TORA…..hOw dID U kNO tHaT hMmM!? HUSH NOW!!! 🤫🤫🤫She doesnt need to know yet that you have your men watching her like AT ALL TIMES!!!👀👀👀 Ahhhhhh sigh of relief, good boy tora, or Good Sexy Man Boy 🔥😍💪🏼🔥😍💪🏼I MEAN tora! Good job apologizing about the cafe incident. That needed to happen drastically. He also acknowledged the fact that since he is raised from the streets, the way he talks and acts in a lot different that “normal” ppl that have had a safe and sheltered way of living…. And that even though he comes off rough and aggressive by the way he talks and acts doesnt mean he can get away with it… he WANTS poppy to tell him when he is being a “dickhead” cause lets remember - one thing he wished for as a child was to be accepted and seen like a normal person...like everyone else...YET HE ISNT, HE PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE….BUT poppy is his key to having that taste of normality. Just like when he tried fixing the way he talks for her...saying “YOURS” instead of “YA,” him offering to hide himself (his skin/tattoos) to make her feel comfortable in moonbright so ppl dont get scared…...HE WANTS TO BE A BETTER PERSON AND BE ACCEPTED so he is trying to do these things to fit in….but the beauty behind this relationship is that Poppy DOES accept him for who he is, and isnt trying to change things that HE CANT change about himself, but things like how to communicate like a proper human being to the person you care about is something HE WANTS to be better at and im glad Poppy can help him do that. Though I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to see Tora’s stinky clothes Poppy’ve been keeping the whole month :/ On a side note, Gyu is every Asian kid born in the 80s or 90s waking up or walking in right when their parents were playing Legos! For those who aren’t familiar with this, in many Asian countries children used to sleep with their parents until primary school and bedroom door didn’t exist because parents didn’t want people think they had something to hide. Thanks LIly ... This episode tastes of everyday life. Of true reality. There is no fairytale in your toons, but truly true and possible story. Poppy and Tora in this episode (perhaps more so than others) are real. They talk about "them" ... sit on the bed as it really happens ... they are "themselves" no longer with masks or filters. Without fear of exposing their fears, limitations and flaws. they are sincere and Tora also thinks it in the perspective of becoming a couple (Big step for someone like Tora, this is not a schoolboy crush my dear!). Tora understand (maybe) everything...Poppy and you?? For Tora Poppy is something different, she has a particular place in him heart, he doesn't touch her, because he knows that if he touched her now he could no longer stop ... Tora sees these acts in perspective of becoming a couple ... Poppy now it's your turn ... ... Gyu arrives messed up after battling the intruder ... and see you next Saturday ... Lily !!!

Delicious. This episode was delicious. But come on, what episode isn’t?? We had a few subtle “do overs” in this one that show how Tora and Poppy have grown (however unintentionally) as couple material. The first time Tora was at Poppys place she desperately tries to grab his phone from him. At the time Tora had both hands raised in panic to avoid touching her. Here we are 2nd time around she’s trying to grab the paper from him and Tora has zero problem with enveloping our hamster. And then Poppy brushed some hair out of Toras eyes. We saw that first happen back on the stairs when they were tracking down Mr. Lam - I tend to think Toras brain slightly short circuited out of shock when Poppy did that 😂 but this time around it gets Tora right in the feelers. Also, I’m so rooting for Poppy to be able to use the famous quote “Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you happy to see me” at some point on Tora in this story 😉🔫

Hands in the air if you're feeling all kinds of relief and lighter for this chapter? I absolutely was. I felt like I took a breath for the first time in a long while. And I won’t lie I’m glad I stuck to my thoughts that they would talk it out and communicate properly. We’ve seen so many occasions in the past of them doing just that, I knew they would at some point. And it's refreshing to read it all laid out like that. No one is trying to read between the lines. Except for Tora trying to drop the ‘couple’ word and struggling to get it out...pft pft! Really dived in with them though didn’t we? I really felt Poppy’s upset about being called a bitch, and rightly so! And Tora for his part does look suitably chastised for it. Did he dig his grave a bit deeper by saying, “...would it help if I told ya that when I used the “B” word...I meant to say you were being a “female dickhe - “ I mean, my dude! Would you like me to throw you a spare shovel? I mean at this rate Poppy is going to dig it for you, haha. But I won’t skip over the fact she said it especially hurts to have it directed at her by someone she ‘cares about’. Something neither of them have really said aloud to each other up until now, so I’m very curious about what's written in that letter… Oof, I feel ya big bro! I don’t do well with backhanded jabs either. It’s an instant trigger spot for me after years and years of taking them from someone I couldn’t stand my ground to. So he was feeling as hurt as Poppy was in that moment and my heart cracked a little for the both of them when I read that. “And even if I wanna make things better, I can’t. Cos I don’t even know what I’m s’posed to be doin’...” Bro, do any of us? But him especially, watching him try to navigate this collision of his dark world meeting someone he cares very deeply for who is very much on the side of light at the moment - well it's painful. And he’s doing his best, so yeah, he’s going to fuck up monumentally sometimes. Another hats off to Tiger for acknowledging he’s not making up excuses, he’s just saying how he felt about it. The total polar opposite of how Poppy has been treated in the past. He should be able to say his piece too. They both blew up at each other during a highly stressful situation, they were both in the wrong in different ways and they’ve both admitted and accepted their parts in that. I’ll say it again, it's so refreshing to read this played out like this. Surprisingly I did not pick up on Poppy saying that to try and make him jealous. I took it as childish, but now I’ve read her thoughts it makes a lot more sense! Tora absolutely felt that on a subconscious level, I’ll bet my vast shoe collection on it! Ugh, the expressions between these two are crippling me! They both look so vulnerable right now. There is no mask hiding the feels here, they are totally open and receptive to each other. While hiding the fact Poppy still has his jacket she’s stuffing her clothes on top of in the wash basket...oh that was a much needed moment of hilarity! I hope we see Tora find that at some point. And then stuff it back down where he found it. I kind of felt like Tora saying he won’t use the fact he can read Poppy like a book against her was him kind of asking the same of her...but I really appreciated him asking her to be straight with him to his face. Maybe it’s my age or I’m life weary, but I don’t have time to figure out what people aren’t telling me. It might hurt to hear but I’d rather have honesty too. I hope Poppy keeps what he’s saying in mind and uses it in the future. “Readin’ ya love letter. Why?” And we’re back to the teasing and bants! *Does a happy dance* I feel like that gap that had opened between them for the last few or more episodes has really narrowed down significantly with this chapter alone! Yay proper communication! I mean, where’d he break out that prose from? Tora, do you have some Shakespeare in your dark little cubby hole of an apartment somewhere? I wouldn’t actually be surprised if Vincent didn’t make sure his schooling was as high as his fucked up training to be honest. He’s got an image to maintain after-all. Besides, that acting dumb gets you very far when you need it… I just loved the whole sequence between them as they wrestled for the piece of paper. Poppy is a lot calmer than she was before, for now any-way. And seeing her giggling at Tora is easing more of that anxiety as I read on. Although, nearly slipped up there with letting on that he knew how she hurt her ankle...Gonna tell her she has a tail on her most of the time soon, tiger? Oh, OH! He’s trying to tell her about his life. I won’t lie, my heart started racing a little fast when I read that the first time. The look on Poppy’s face when he said you shouldn’t cut me any slack at all...she didn’t look scared or nervous. Maybe a tiny bit surprised, but she didn’t come across as anything but attentive to what he was saying, or at least trying to say. And she asks the right questions! Why is he saying what he is...Her body language is wide open, she’s not shying away from him at all. Whereas he’s not looking at her while he says most of this. But we already know he’s not proud of the life he leads, it just wounds to see him be this vulnerable. It’s taken me a couple of re-reads over the same part to try to understand what Tora means by, “I realised I might never really know what it’s like being in ya position. Even if I try to understand it.” I can’t decide if he’s referring to not knowing what it’s like to be trapped and scared the way she was with the intruder, unable to help herself. Or for her to be on the receiving end of his quick temper both in the cafe and her apartment. Because he lives the dark life, every single day. He’s never known what it’s like to have a ‘normal’ life and then have danger suddenly enter it. Danger IS his normal. So Tora telling her to do whatever she has to, to stay safe...ouch and wow! And she just accepts what he’s saying, is so gentle and encouraging with him that my heart squeezes watching these two! The way she’s brushing his hair off his face again…I’m gonna burn up here!! The chemistry and connection between these two is making me all tingly. So then Tora goes and totally obliterates the 4th wall! I was howling at that! Not only did we get another nod to the first time they were together in her apartment with the walks like a duck, comment, but then to have him say, “Did ya expect me to be a fucking life coach?” I threw my phone down and laughed! I have read or seen moments when the ‘bad’ guy or the one with all the issues suddenly drops a ton of sage advice out of nowhere and it’s always made me scratch my head. This is TORA! Says what he thinks and half the time it’s pervy or cursed. Either way, her unintentionally calling him bad and him not dismissing it...yes! He knows the shit he’s done is awful, he's not excusing that and he isn’t asking her to either. It just makes him more human, making the audience accept he's got some darkness about him, he’s not perfect as we’ve been rightfully reminded recently. Also, it was hilarious so thank you for that 4th wall break! And we’re back to our flirting banter and we see that blush Miss Poppy! And her confusion at how quick Tora pulled away from her. He’s keeping his hands very firmly crossed right there...I wonder if she’s disappointed that little moment didn’t progress to something. But I suspect he hasn’t forgotten how she pulled away from him on the balcony and called him out for the lick to her neck. So he’s trying to give her space. I’m not one to judge how people react in highly stressful situations, if contact is what Poppy needs then good for her! But I do wonder too if Tora’s pulling away is because he’s not finished with what it is he wants to say… Ahhhh, come on Poppy don’t leave the man hanging! Catch on to what he’s trying to say....my nails can’t take much more biting from the nerves I’ve got watching Tora try and say ‘couple’! I’m so nervous of what her answer might be. So nervous we’ll have a long wait to find out if that conversation will be finished...timing Gyu, bloody timing! Although I can’t be too mad, look at the state of him! What the hell happened up there? His clothes are all ripped and - *cough* I can’t deny Gyu’s looking pretty damn fine right now. *Cough* Sorry not sorry. But seriously, RONZO! What happened? I can forgive him for cockblocking Tora a little...maybe...Did he get a look at who it was? Is he scared Tora’s gonna break his other leg for falling asleep or letting the guy get away? Is Poppy going to be OK hearing the guy who broke in is still out there somewhere? Big fat no to the last one, but the plot thickens and I’m hella excited to see what’s going to happen next! Thank you for always, always giving us the best of the best with your story, Lily! The art never fails to amaze me with the detailing. And the story has me on the edge of my seat rummaging through everything said and done to feed my curiosity. I loved every second of this update!
